RING-010-26953
SS HONOR RING
This SS Honor
Ring is in outstanding condition with all runic symbols still
being visible throughout the ring. The skull is in excellent condition,
with slight traces of the teeth being visible as well as the separation
area at the nose. The skull bones also show good detail. The other
runic symbols throughout are all there, to even include the symbol
at the bottom, being the arrow with SS runes. (This symbol is
usually almost always worn through.) The inside of the ring has
the dedication S.lb Zillmer 21.6.44 h.Himmler. Obviously,
this ring was presented on the summer solstice of June 21, 1944
by Himmler to Zillmer in admiration. This ring comes
with a certification certificate from Don Boyle dated 26 September
1996. The recipient of the ring ss-Hauptsturmführer
Carl Zillmer has been extensively researched. The ring comes
with a dossier compiled by the outstanding researcher Robert McDivitt.
The dossier comes with lots of papers, including Zillmers
application to the SS, some of his promotion documents and letters
from SS personnel. Just to highlight this mans career, Zillmer
was assigned to the Signals branch of SS/Totenkopf where he served
from January 1941 to March 1941. This was in the School
of Oranienburg. Later, he was transferred to the Signals
Division in Oslo, Norway. Later, he served with the Mountain Division
Nord until August 1944. After this, he was assigned to Nürnberg
and later he was assigned to the SS Korps Nachrichten
where he served until July 1944. After this, he was assigned to
the Reichsführer-SS office. He has quite a few awards, including
the SS Julleuchter, the Sports award for the SA in bronze, the
Iron Cross 2nd Class, the Winter in Moscow, the 2nd Class War
Merit Cross with Swords and a 1st Class War Merit cross. This
dossier covers much more, but we will leave this to the fun of
the next owner. This is an outstanding SS ring and is 100% genuine.
It should grow in value in the future, as all original SS items
have seemed to do. An excellent condition ring here which could
be the beginning of a great display in your hobby room.Ring size #10. Excellent

RING-011-25356
SS Honor Ring
This SS Honor
ring is of a very small size. In fact, it will not fit on my little
finger, and although I am fat, I am not a big man. The original
owner of this ring, SS-HauptsturmfÜhrer Heinz Leidecker,
must have been a small man. The ring has an excellent visible
joining seam at the center, beneath the skull. The reason for
this is, the smallness of the ring made it difficult to form it
in a perfect round circle, so the joining line shows more so,
than on larger made rings. The skull is nicely positioned centered
over the ring. The detail is still there to the eyes, nose, and
sidebones. There is still most of the teeth showing in the leering
smile. The triangular shaped runes, next to the skull, are in
good condition. The oak leafing below these runes, on both sides,
is beginning to show wear. The asterisk style rune, on the left
side, is still very discernable, whereas the swastika rune on
the right side is worn at the bottom leg, and a little bit on
the 9 oclock leg. After this point, there is quite a bit
of wear, and it is difficult to discern the bottom rune. (This
is the rune which is circular, and has the SS signs in it, along
with an arrow sign.) The inside details of the dedication are
still very prominent. They are, S.lb.Leidecker 7.3.36. H.
Himmler. The dedication almost takes up the whole space
of the inner ring, with the Himmler signature terminating just
short of the center line. Because of the smallness of this ring,
and the intricacies resultantly involved, there is no question
this is an original example. (The next buyer, though, can certainly
contact Mr. Boyle, if a certification is desired, as I am sure
there will be no problem with Don attesting to the originality
of this ring.) I looked up this officer in my SS list, and I find
him on the 1935-1936 and 1938 list. As of 1938 he held the rank
of SS HauptsturmfÜhrer and was assigned to the staff at Abschnitte
XI. This Abschnitte was based in Koblenz. Accompanying this ring
is a reel of microfilm, which represents the research on this
mans career. Unfortunately, I do not have any way to read
this microfilm, so I cant tell you anymore than that I can
learn myself from my SS list. I note with interest, though, that
it is unusual that a ring would be presented on the 7th of March,
1936. Not all rings were presented on the four times a year, that
most were done. This ring is obviously an exception. This is a
great chance to own an original SS Honor ring. Because of its
smallness, and the amount of wear to the surfaces, this ring is
priced reasonably. I would be interested in learning about further
developments in this mans career, if the next owner can
interpret the microfilm. Guaranteed, original SS Honor Ring Excellent,
