POT-001-24814 – Prussian Imperial Shooting Award Breast Plate/Necklace

This Shooting Award breast plate is quite good looking, featuring a circular silver, medallion-like plate measuring about 4 ½ inches at the diameter. The plate has beaded borders making a rim. Atop the silver plate is a Prussian Crown, which is highly detailed with open finials with a cross above. In the inner area of the medallion is a gilded brass, crowned Prussian eagle carrying a scepter, an orb, and also some type of shooting crest featuring smaller crossed rifles over a sword. The crowned Prussian eagle is superimposed over the triple overlapping wreath of oak leaves. At the lower portion of the plate, is a set of shooting style rifles, also in gilded brass and with a crossed over, ribbon-like image. At the bottom of the medallion is a silver pendant, to which is attached a crest. This crest is quite beautiful, featuring an arch of five castle turrets, each having notched tops with a clear stonework construction image. Below the turrets are a set of silvered crossed Roman-like swords. These are seated atop a field-like silver cross, which is vaulted in the center. Engraved professionally into the crest is the following award “SIEGER/der./ScheibenschÜtzen/in/BurgerschÜtzenverein/ Schwerte/anno 1436”. The gist of this award, it was for the Winner of the Shooting Contest in the Shooting Club of “Schwerte”, which was established in 1436. The reverse of the shield is hallmarked, “Handarberit/Grafe/800”. This, of course, indicates that the item has been made by hand, and is produced from 800 silver. The reverse of the medallion above, is marked, “18”. Attached to the medallion is a chain for the winner to wear this item around his neck. The chain links also appear to be silver throughout. There are 44 of these silver links with connectors. This is a great display item for the collector of Hunting, Forestry, Shooting pieces. Choice condition here, and quite a rare, unique item.
Near mint $1995.00

POT-002-26676C - BOAR TUSK CIGAR CUTTER

This boar tusk cigar cutter is great for the guy who wants to sit home in his rec room and cut his own cigars. It makes a beautiful table adornment, especially with some other hunting related items. The tusk is a little over five inches and curves to a point at the end. The opposite end is fitted with a “925” Hallmark silver cigar clipper. There is also the Hallmark of the circle with points around it which was the logo of the “Pfilring werke” firm. This firm made a lot of cigar clippers, as I have seen some in the past. This is an outstanding example here, and a quality item. It would be a fine addition to a forestry hunting collection.
Excellent Plus Plus. $495.00

POT-003-25750 - SS PORCELAIN FLOWER BOWL/VASE

This SS porcelain vase is of all white material and is in perfect condition. The vase is about 8 inches round at its widest point and is approximately 6 inches high. It has a small opening at the top for insertion of flowers which is about 3 inches wide at the rim. This bowl is quite attractive and is marked on the bottom in green with the SS proof marks and the porcelain factory’s name below, “Allach”. Below this there is also the number, “503", which is under glaze in the porcelain itself. Mint. $995.00

POT-004-25403 - CASED SET OF BINOCULARS

The case for these binoculars is of all black leather. There are two side mouted “d” rings which would have accommodated a leather strap. There is a short leather strap with roller buckle on one side, but the other portion of the strap has gone to time. The front portion of the case has a spring loaded catch which is attached to the lid. There are some markings on the outer portion of the catch, but they are slightly rusted and I can’t make out what they are. The black leather lid lifts up and on the rim of the case below the lid area is the date, “1942". There is also an open-winged eagle and swastika waffenamt. Both of these markings are pressed into the leather. The case inside is a brown color leather and it is padded so that the binoculars stay in place once the lid is put down. The binoculars themselves are a black color with the right side of them having a grainy surface and the left side having a smooth surface. Looking through the optics, they appear to be okay. On the left upper area of the binoculars is the stamping “beh”. On the right side there is also some old stampings; I can make out a little bit of the word which ends, “nstafes”, and beneath this, is the number “7x60" and there is also an additional word printed below that looks like, “38A”, but I cannot make out the rest of the numbers. These binoculars show overall age and wear, but they are still in collectible condition and definitely are WWII vintage.
Excellent. $195.00

POT-006-26405C – GERMAN STOPWATCH IN ORIGINAL CASE

This stopwatch is a very nice item which still runs perfectly. The watch itself has a white face with double sets of black and red numbers. In addition to the sweep second hand, there is also a smaller hand which keeps track of the minute count. At the lower portion of the watch face it is marked “swiss”. The watch appears to be made of nickel and it shows some usage, but is still in good condition. The watch fits into a custom-made nickel case having a celluloid face at the obverse. The case has built-in side springs to keep the watch firmly in place inside. The celluloid face has quite a bit of yellowing from age and scratching across the surfaces, but it is still transparent. The top of the case is marked with the manufacturer name “Primus”. The reverse of the watch case has the stamping “23”. A nice item to display with other German militaria.Excellent Plus. $350.00

POT-008-26797 – SILVERED AUSTRIAN ANSCHLOSS CHALICE

This impressive chalice is about 9 inches in height and has an opening at the top cup measuring about 3½ inches. The chalice itself has a flared out style stand which runs about two-thirds of the length of the piece. This stand is rimmed with the area getting larger under each rib section. The base itself measures about 3½ inches in diameter. There is a small marking on this base which is stamped “argentor”. The face of the upper portion of the chalice is in a cup shape. This face is engraved with a large mobile swastika at the top. The swastika has a beading inside of the engraving which gives it a deluxe finish. Below the swastika is a four-line dedication “13.OMÄRZ 1938/DER TAG DES UMBRUCHES IN OSTERREICH.UNSER GROSSER WUNSCH IST ERFÜLLT./SCH.G.(ALTPENZING)”. This dedication, roughly translated, would mean that “The 13th OF MARCH 1938, THE DAY OF OUR UPHEAVAL IN AUSTRIA AND THE GREAT HAPPINESS WITH ITS COMPLIANCE” and then the lower line must refer to possibly a school in Austria, but I don’t know this for sure. The essence of the cup is that it is celebrating the alliance of Austria with Germany in March of 1938. This is a great display piece and would be an important artifact for those collecting Anschloss memorabilia. There also could be research done on this school, Altpenzing, to find out exactly what its position was during this exciting time. A great piece here! Excellent Plus. $995.00

POT-009-19559 - Political Leader’s Embossed Leather Portfolio

This is a most impressive leather portfolio, which contains unwritten-on pages. The pages are enclosed in silk-style binding, and make for a very important look. The outside of the portfolio, though, namely the front cover, is extremely impressive. The front and back cover are made from a fine piece of leather, measuring approximately 15 inches by 12 inches. The border has been stitched with a different leather, to provide a bind. The leather surface has a very large grain to it, and it must have come from an equally large animal. It almost looks like it could have been the skin from an elephant. In the center of the obverse cover, though, a most impressive pointed-winged Political eagle has been embossed outward. This eagle has a pointed head, which is turned to the viewer’s right. His eye is very concerned looking, and his beak goes beautifully downward, to a point. The feathering to the pointed, outward stretched wings, is remarkable. The same is true of the feathering to the bird’s neck, breast, and legs. The talons below, clutch a swastika formed of overlapping oak leaves, with ribbons in the four quadrants. The swastika is a mobile style, and it has pebbling in the background, to give it additional relief. This is a great looking display album. It looks very much like the portfolios that were positioned around the diplomatic table in the Reich Chancellery, if you have ever seen these pictures. A great looking item here, and a terrific display example to jazz up your Political collection. Rare (19559) $895.00

POT-010-24901 – Brown Leather Map Case

This map case measures approximately 8” wide by about 12 “ high. It has a holder with flap at the top, which is returned by a leather strap having roller style aluminum buckle. The very end of the strap is gone, but there is enough there to still buckle the case. The front of the map case has seven cylindrical leather pieces, which were apparently for the insertion of writing instruments. There are two other leather pouches, which must have been for the storage of other instruments. The reverse of the case has two leather made belt loops, which are adjustable with straps and buckles. This case is made of a textured, green-brown leather. It shows age, but still is serviceable. Excellent, Plus $65.00

POT - 011 - UNITED STATES ONE-OF-A-KIND MODEL JEEP

This very well done, carved and painted jeep was apparently made by a United States Army soldier, who must have been connected with a machine shop of some sort. The jeep measures a little over 7 inches in length, and features all accurate detail throughout. The jeep is painted olive drab of course, and has its driver and passenger front seat and two or three passenger back seat, as well as a gerry can on the back with spare tire. The hood is decorated with a star and marked "USA" on both sides and the serial number, "427693". The bumper is painted white and is marked, "USF HC 24BPO4". The grill and headlights are actually painted into the surface. The back bumpers are marked, "USF" on one side and, "BPO4" on the other, all in black paint. The detaled tires are made of painted wood and are retained with axles and nuts. An extremely well made scaled model, which even features a steering wheel, gear shift and lever for engaging four-wheel drive. A definite must for the U.S. Military collector or those interested in jeeps.
Excellent Plus, Plus (19274) $250.00

POT - 012 - BLUE LEATHERETTE PRESENTATION BOX W/ SILVER HALLMARKED PICTURE FRAME

This very beautiful set was brought back from the war by 82nd Airborne T-4 Sergeant Max Fine, and comes with paper attesting to this fact. The artifact was discovered in the Reichschancellory at the end of the war. The presentation box measures approximately 12 inches by 15 inches with a depth of 2 inches. The blue leatherette covering has fine graining, and shows only nominal wear throughout. One of the scallop shaped, shell-like, catches is missing, but the other is intact. They are both brass and have holes, which go over pins. The lid lifts upward from the front. The inside lid is a beautiful white silk, having padding within. The bottom section of the case is a dark blue velvet, having a cut out which recesses the silver frame. The frame measures approximately 10 x 11 and 1/2 inches and is approximately 1/2 inch thick. This silver frame is hallmarked, "800" along with maker symbols. The reverse of the frame is fitted with leatherette sliding mounts, which would retain a photograph. Also there is a standing flap device attached. The backing is retained through the use of four silver clips held by screws. The top half of the retainage portion is hinged. Although there was no photograph in this presentation package when liberated, it does have a printed example of Grand Admiral Raeder currently. This may or may not have been the original purpose of the device, but the fact remains it was found in the Reichschancellory, and was definitely produced for the photograph of a most important individual. This frame and box are very collectable in their own right and would add greatly if someone possessed an original autographed Raeder or perhaps Admiral Dönitz photograph. It is also worth mentioning that I have an original Raider autographed photograph period mounted in a nearly identical silver frame, the only difference being, it is about one inch bigger all around.Excellent Plus, Plus (19995) $3495.00

POT - 013 - 26532 – GERMAN ARMY LEG GUARDS?

I am really not sure what these items are, but there a pair of them. They are a green canvas material and look to have been strapped around the legs or arms. There is a black leather border at the top edge and there are two short straps with two matching leather and buckle hasps on the opposite end. These items measure about 14 inches in length. They are both stamped with an RB number which looks like “RB Nr. 0/0500/5793”. I could be wrong on this number, however. Whatever these items are, they are in excellent condition and do not appear to have been issued. Mint. $100.00

POT-015-26666 - US SPORT CONVERTED BAYONET WITH LEATHER SHEATH

This old bayonet looks as though it was cut down from its original length and also the mortise button and lock were removed. The grips are oak wood and they are retained by two rivets. These grips are also marked with initials “ks” done with an amateur knife. The blade has a groove running down its length to the tip, and that is why I think it has been cut down. The blade measures 8.5 inches in length. It is filled with rust and old grease. One side of the ricasso is stamped “US” and the other side is stamped “1903". The bayonet is in a leather sheath which looks to have been hand made. This sheath has rawhide seams and is retained by brass style rivets. It definitely looks like something that was used as a hunting weapon. If it appeals to you, good luck with it, it will probably clean up some. Good Only. $50.00

POT - 016 - 25915C - IMPERIAL/WEIMAR GERMAN BRONZE SOLDIER BUST ON MARBLE

This bronze German soldier bust on marble measures approximately 8 inches high and is about 6 inches wide at the shoulders. The bust is a portrayal of a German soldier, complete with Frankenstein style helmet. The helmet has great detail to its shape. The rivets are visible as are the air vents which stick out on both sides. The helmet’s chin strap is around the strong chin of the Nordic style soldier’s face. He looks off to the left, appearing to gaze toward Vahalla. The solider’s muscled upper torso is nicely detailed in a nude form. The bronze is bolted to a square white marble base. The marble base has its original gray velvet protective base, showing wear to the edge areas. This bronze is unsigned, but is quite a well-known depiction. It would look great in any collecting room or on your desk.
Excellent Plus Plus. $495.00

POT - 017 - 26679C -- 3-Point Antler Silver Candle Holder Stand

This piece is an interesting example of German craftsmanship. I believe it was produced in the 1950’s, though, not pre-war. It consists of 3-Points from a rack of antlers, which have been trimmed to perfectly balance as a stand. At the bottom of the antlers, (or at the top in this case), there is a silver fitting which has been shaped to the formation, which houses a saucer-like upper portion to secure a candle. This housing is of gilded silver and it is marked, “Handarbeit”, which of course, means “handmade”, and below this is the silver quantity, “925”, and the German hallmarks for silver consisting of a crescent and clover-like device, and something else which I do not recognize. Beneath this is stamped, “Sterling”. I believe that these markings would indicate post-war manufacture, but still pretty nice material here. The candleholder is complete with a good thick wax candle, that is ready to light. A good decorator piece here for your Hunting Forestry collection.
Excellent, Plus (26679-C) $250.00

POT - 019 - 26389C - Half-liter Mettlach Stein

This Mettlach Stein is the smaller size, being half-liter. It displays a fine looking tan color material, with a blue center, and having white figures raised out of the blue. It has the look of English Wedgewood china. The figures consist of men, who appear to be huntsmen, sitting at a table. Another stands, with what looks to be a trumpet, and yet another, appears to be doing something with bowling-like balls. There is also a figure, which appears to be sharpening a tool on a stone, and a seated figure on a barrel. The Stein is equipped with a pewter-bordered lid, which has a German smoking pipe raised out of the top, in the cream color with blue background. This Stein is in perfect condition throughout. On the bottom it is marked, “Villeroyn goch Mettlach”. There are also some factory markings at the bottom, “11” and “03”. A fine Stein here, which even your wife will like! Mint (26389-C) $395.00

POT - 021 - 26498 - Presented Silver Retirement Cup

This Retirement Cup stands 6 inches high, and about 3 ¼ inches in diameter. It has a 5-line decoration at the top rim, and a matching line decoration near the bottom edge. At the front of the cup, upward from the line decorations, is a facsimile of an Iron Cross. The detail is outstanding to this facsimile. It depicts the Prussian Crown in the top leg, and a 1914 date in the lower leg. The “W” letter is in the center. There is a 4-line dedication, which is expertly engraved in Gothic-style letters, “Dem scheidenden Kameraden/Herrn Leutnant Girke des/Officiercorps 2 Oberrheinischen/Inf. Rgts. No 99”. This presentation would translate roughly to, “Our retiring comrade Leut. Girke of the 2nd Officer Corps garrisoned in Oberrheinishcen/Infantry Regiment No. 99”. This should be a fairly easy job to look up this man’s career, as his name is not too common, and most of the information is there. The bottom of the cup is hallmarked with a crescent, a Prussian Crown, “800”, and another symbol which I cannot make out. Below this is a number, “2647”. A fine original Retirement Cup here, great for display with a collection. Excellent, Plus, Plus (26498) $795.00

POT - 022 - 26554 - DLV Presentation Cup

This small DLV Presentation Cup measures approximately 2 ½ inches in height, and is about 1 inch thick. It appears to be a shot glass device. It has a nice shape to it, and a very pleasing look. The obverse of the cup has a beautiful DLV enameled insignia applied. It consists of a winged mobile swastika, that has a propeller behind it. The swastika is composed of black enamel. Some of the enamel is missing at the lower leg, but it is not bad. In the background is a circle having red enamel, which really highlights this insignia. Below the insignia is the 4-line presentation, “Dem Senior/des Sonderlehrgangs/Heeressportschule Wunsdorf/Januar 1935”. This presentation would basically mean, “The cup was given to a Senior Instructor from the Flying Sports School at Wunsdorf on January, 1935”. On the reverse of the cup, there is another applied insignia. It looks to be possibly the logo of the air formation. It seems to have stylized letter, “ROTR”. Below this is an expression, “Alle Achtung, alter Löwe!”. This seems to translate, “Move Along old Lion”, which would be an appropriate statement to make to a very favored retiree. The bottom of the cup is hallmarked with a lion, a crown, and 835. After this, there are some small initials, which I can’t make out, and then the word, “ Chevalier”. A very nice item here, which is extremely attractive, and would look dynamite next to a DLV dagger or other DLV insignia.
Excellent, Plus, Plus (26554) $395.00

POT - 024 - 26524 - A.H. Likeness Plaque

This Plaque is of A.H. himself, in a bust pose from the chest upward. The Füehrer looks to the right, with a pensive expression on his face. The detail to his parted hair and straight comb-over, eyebrows, and tooth-brush mustache is excellent. This plaque appears to be made of a zinc material. It measures about 13 inches high, and about 10 inches wide. The Füehrer wears his NSDAP Party shirt with tie, and has his Party insignia as a tie pin. The swastika does not show in the wreath, as I guess the casting is not crisp enough to do this. The Füehrer wears a cross strap and has buttoned flap pockets. The reverse of the plaque has a couple of brackets, which would have been used for mounting purposes. The plaque shows a little bit of age, and there is a small surface blemish at Adolph’s right cheek. Other than this, a good display piece here. Excellent, Plus (26524) $325.00

POT - 026 - 26408C - Japanese Tropical Trousers

This set of Japanese trousers is in olive-drab cotton. They are complete with all of the buttons, and the original waist-tie sash. The man I got these trousers from, stated that they were retrieved from a Philippine supply dump at the end of the war. These pants are in choice mint condition, and appear to have never been issued. Mint (26408-C) $225.00

POT - 028 - 26501 - SS Allach Julfest Plate for 1943

Oswald Pohl, who was the SS General in charge of the Allach Porcelain plant at the Dachau camp, had his own style plates, which were issued at Christmastime. Several of these plates are shown in the Tony Oliver SS Porcelain book, but the 1943 edition is not. The Oliver book shows the editions for 1941 and 1942. This example is very similar to the two cited, which are on pages 90 and 91. This example is 10 inches in diameter. In the center, it features purple color flowers, which look similar to long tulips coming out of a patch of snow. The green stalks of the flower contrast nicely with the pinkish-purple tones of the winter growth. The plate is a fine white color, and has a green border. The plate, overall, shows some usage, but there are no problems or flaws. On the reverse of the plate, in green, it has the details for what it represents. At the top is cited, “Julfest 1943”. Below this is the 4-line dedication, “DER CHEF DES/SS-WIRTSCHAFTS-/VERWALTUNGS-/HAUPTAMTES”. Below this is the facsimile signature of Oswald Pohl, and below this is Pohl’s title, “SS- Obergruppenführer/u. General der Waffen-SS”. This all means that Pohl is presenting this plate for Christmas 1943, being the, “Chief of the SS Porcelain factory, and SS Obergruppenführer and General of the Waffen SS”. In a half circle are a series of life runes, which appear below the presentation, and in the center is a star-like asterisk device. These, of course, were SS symbols for happiness and a long life. A nice plate here to help decorate some of your other SS items, and I’m sure your wife will even like this example! Excellent, Plus, Plus (26501) $995.00

POT - 029 - 25909C - Framed Portrait of Kriegsmarine Seaman

This Framed Portrait is very well done, being a professional photographer’s mount. The overall frame measures approximately 14 inches by 11 inches. The frame is the original example. There is a matte inside, which has the original name of the photographer, “Brande/bourg-Leopold”. In the center is an outstanding professional photograph, which measures 9 inches by 6 ½ inches. This black and white photo depicts a seaman in his uniform, complete with sailor cap. The uniform is the dark navy blue color, with the flap on the back. The Kriegsmarine eagle shows on the breast area, but the swastika is slightly obliterated, because of the distance away from the lens. The cap, though, shows outstanding, and the Kriegsmarine eagle at the top is fairly clear, as is the Reich Cocaide below. At the band is a silk example, which has the standard lettering, “Kriegsmarine”. The sailor has a fine off-in-the-distance-type-look on his face, and appears to be seriously thinking of the Füehrer’s victory for World War II. The sailor depicted in the photograph is a dead-ringer for well-known collector and dealer, Gailen David. Gailen looks to be about 20 years old in this photograph. I did not know him then, but I did know him when he was probably about 30 years old, as we have known each other for at least three decades. If there is such a thing as reincarnation, it has happened here! An interesting photograph here, even if you don’t know Gailen David. Excellent (25909-C) $200.00

POT - 030 - 26544 - SS DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT CARD

This SS death announcement card is about four and one-half inches by two and three-quarter inches, being printed in off-white paper with a black border. It pictures an SS NCO with sleeve eagle, Iron Cross, Wound Badge and Russian Front ribbon all showing. He has NCO boards with two pips. The announcement, though, lists him as “Lieutenant Führer” of an SS Reconnaissance company so he obviously was promoted during the war, sometime after this picture was taken. The date of death was the 10th of November 1944 and the SS officer was 34 years old. His name was “Rupert Mittermaier”. This card is in full mint condition. The reverse shows an SS grave with the solider’s name printed on a makeshift wood board. A good display example here in mint condition. Mint. $95.00

POT - 031 - 26190C - ARMY SOLDBUCH WITH PHOTO

This Army Soldbuch goes back to 1941 and it is complete with a photograph of the original owner. His name was “Josef Stölberr”. At the end of the war in April 1945, he is listed as a Obergefreiler. This soldier was born in 1908 and the book was issued June 3, 1941. It appears that most of the time, Stölberr was assigned to medic related companies. His last assignment was with the Second San-Erl. Abt. 12 based in Bad Kreuznach. There are many entries in this book and lots of Nazi stamps. An interesting Soldbuch for those who collect these items. There is also some currency which looks to be Greek, which comes with the book. The soldbuch shows wear and tear, but it is all there. Excellent. $150.00

POT - 032 - 26361C - RAFT DESIGN ASHTRAY

This fine historic ashtray is made of a fired earthen type and it measures about six and one-half inches in length. It is in an oval design in the shape of a rubber raft. The ashtray commemorates the successful escapades of Army Infantry Regiment 171 during the 1940 attack by the Germans on the Low Countries. The life raft has the names of the different areas that were involved in the attack by the “171”. In the center of the raft is an Iron Cross image with the date “1940" and on the right “I/171". This ashtray comes with a complete history of Infantry Regiment 171 and is an outstanding item for those who would like to study the history of this group. The ashtray also makes a great display, with all of the places named throughout the circumference of the raft’s oval shape. The raft ashtray is in totally perfect condition and, on the bottom, it has a run number of “5075". A fine historical artifact here. Mint. $495.00

POT - 033 - 26946C – SA BRONZE AWARD PLAQUE

This bronze award plaque is quite heavy and is in an almost round shape, measuring approximately 6 inches at the diameter. Studying the very base of this plaque, it appears as though there may have been two pins which at one time held the plaque to perhaps a marble base. It would not be too big of a job to acquire a nice piece of marble and have this medallion properly remounted, as the looks of it certainly warrant the additional expense. (The best place to find a piece of marble is to go to someone that makes gravestones. They can cut it out for you and do anything you want with it). The medallion on the obverse has a border of oak leaves. The oak leaves extend over the circumference, giving a nice shape throughout. At the center is a terrific looking, highly detailed eagle with open wings looking to the viewer’s right. The feathering throughout the head, breast feathering, wings and legs is very appealing. The wingspread is wide open, but both wings dip down at the tips. The eagle clutches a mobile swastika which is also raised out of the medallion base. The area behind the bird is plain and is the same color, being a dark, patinated metal. At the bottom portion of the medallion, there is a large SA runic symbol which is mounted over the top of a column-like design. We would call the curly cues of the column the Dorian style. On the reverse of the medallion, it has the same choice oak leaf border and the backs of the eagles’ wings also overlap. The feathering is finished on the reverse also. In the center of the plaque, there is a raised out circle which has the vaulted letters “Sieg” which, of course, means “winner”. Around the center area is a band-like ring which also has raised out lettering, giving the details of the award “SA-REICHSWETTKÄMPFE BERLIN 1937”. This would translate to “SA REICH COMPETITION BERLIN 1937”. At the bottom of the plaque, like the obverse, is an additional SA runic symbol and the Dorian style column top curly ques. This is a very heavy item and is the first example that I have seen. A most impressive award here which would really be terrific if it were mounted on an appropriate piece of marble. Near Mint. $1,995.00

POT - 034 - 26947 – SS ALLACH ATHENA

This ultra-rare SS Allach piece is in the image of Athena, and it is identical to the example that is shown in the Tony Oliver book on pages 52 and 53. The goddess is a little bit over 8 inches high and produced in fantastic white porcelain. The goddess has a fine, regal face with long, flowing hair topped with a Greek helmet with large comb. The details to the helmet, high nose, mouth and hair are extraordinary. Athena is dressed in a flowing tunic style fabric which is also nicely detailed and, at the lower, her white foot with well-detailed toes is visible. In the goddess’ left hand, she is holding a column-like scepter. The details to the fluting of the column are also all there, as is the Corinthian top. In her lowered right arm, Athena is holding an olive branch. The goddess is atop a squared base which has a small pedestal which flares at the bottom. Raised out of the front base area is a shield. Within the shield is the famous gate to enter Munich, known as the “Isator” gate. Below the gate is the famous depiction of the “Munich Maid”. Atop the Isator is an open-winged German eagle clutching a wreathed swastika. At the reverse of the base, there is raised out “TAG/DEUTSCHEN/KUNST/1938”. This dedication means “DAY OF GERMAN ART 1938”. The Allach factory made this piece to commemorate this famous day when the House of Art (Haus Die Kunst) opened. This was a very lavish affair attended by Hitler and many Nazi dignitaries. The Athena figure was also used to represent art in Germany. Those who collect the art books of the late 30s and early 1940s will recall that each cover depicts the goddess Athena with her war helmet. This beautiful piece of porcelain is in totally perfect condition. At the bottom, it is marked with an eight-sided figure and it has the SS Kulturzeichen marking with the word “Allach” below. These symbols are in green. Above the center area is the name of the famous designer of this piece “Prof th. Karner”. This figure would look really great with either some other Allach porcelain or perhaps displayed with one of the art magazines of the period in a case. An absolute, perfect investment quality piece here, very rarely seen on today’s marketplace. Mint. $4,495.00

POT - 035 - 26866 – VETERAN’S LIBERATED BOARD OF MEDALS AND TINNIES

This Veteran’s liberated board of medals and tinnies measures approximately 29 inches by 19 inches. The board is covered with a blue velvet fabric which has a padding beneath. The board has been completely filled with the medals and tinnies brought back from WWII by the 85-year old veteran that I purchased this interesting board from. There are over 80 items on this board. Some of them are pretty good and others are just the parade style things that were giveaways. Some of the things at a glance, though, are a SA Sport badge, an NSFK badge, a Paratrooper’s Pilot’s badge, a black Wound badge, a War Merit badge with swords, an Infantry Assault badge, an RAD Long Service medal and ribbon and some of the Party Day type items. There is lots of things here to look at and some may be quite rare, I really don’t know. I think that this board should be left intact and sold as-is. Oh, there is also a Hitler Youth member’s badge as well as a NSDAP Party member badge. Lots of things here, and many medals to study and enjoy. This is a great item for those who are looking for completely untouched, unaltered, original Vet-acquired memorabilia.
Excellent. $995.00

POT - 036 - 26546 - OFFICER’S ALUMINUM CAP CORDS

POT - 037 - 26685 - FLORAL ENGRAVED ALPACCA MARKED CIGARETTE CASE

This cigarette case is in choice condition, measuring three inches by three and one-half inches. The total outside is beautifully engraved with floral designs. Between the designs there is the intricate pebbling that we see used frequently on the fittings of fine Third Reich daggers. Whoever did the long ago engraving on this piece was a real expert, as it is quite beautiful and very eye catching. Only the borders are plain and to separate the floral designs from the plain borders, there are double lines which run across the top and bottom. Both sides of the cigarette box have this beautiful engraving. Opening the box up, the viewer is treated to another great site, as both sides of the internal portions have been gilded and 100% of the gilding still remains. Even the two original elastic bands are in place here. I doubt that this box was ever used. It appears to have been merely an expensive gift to someone who probably didn’t really need it, as they may have already had several other examples. The button which presses in to open the cigarette case is marked “Alpacca”. This was the term used by the Germans to describe their faux silver process also known as “German silver”, which acutally had no silver in it at all! In addition, next to this word is a Weimar style eagle and to the right of the word is the number “4" within a rectangle. A beautiful item here that is every bit as nice today as it was back in the 1930s. An outstanding gift for your wife, or just something nice to put on a table next to some other German figurines or other art decoration items. Mint. $295.00

POT - 039 - 26360C - HONORARY KEY TO THE BARRACKS OF II A. R. 69

This huge honorary Key is over ten inches in length and weighs over one pound. The key is an honorary example for the barracks at Lüttich Kaserne, which was the home of the Second Artillery Regiment No. 69. This key is dated 1939 in large, raised out letters, and in the center, is a raised out mobile swastika. I am not sure of the history of this barracks, but apparently it represents that of a very famous regiment, as today, there is a museum there in the town of Kassel. This key needs to be researched but in the meantime, it would make a wonderful display with some other Third Reich artifacts. This key is most impressive. It would look really good in its own mount with a picture of the apparently famous barracks. Near Mint. Double-sided $995.00

POT - 040 - ADVERTISING DESK PAPER WEIGHT W/MINIATURE HUNTING CUTLASS ATTACHED - Weyersberg, Kirschberg and Cie.

This item is a terrific piece originally commissioned by WKC's British distributor for purposes of decorating a good customer's desk. It was made sometime during either the Imperial or the Third Reich period, but impossible to nail down exactly when. As a central feature, this nickel-plated desk decoration is topped with a knighthead's facial and breast armor. The details to the knight's armor are finely hand-done throughout the scaled chin strap, face covering plate, lobster tail backing and necklace worn about the breast plate. The knight, of course, represents the logo of W. K. & C. The knighthead is positioned atop three nickel-plated, pyramid stacked hollow tubes. The tubes are positioned on a heavily nickeled rectangular base. The base measures about 5 inches by 3 1/2 inches. The height to the top of the knight head is approximately 4 1/2 inches high. Applied to the front of the base is a fine miniature hunting cutlass, to be used as a letter opener. The cutlass is a high quality item, measuring 7 1/2 inches overall. It has brass base scabbard mounts with black painted scabbard shell resembling leather. The cutlass has brass pommel, hoofed up and down crossguard and fluted clamshell. The grip exactly simulates a stag example, but is actually a brown and black paint, brass base. The 5 1/2 inch blade is nickel plated showing only nominal age. This single-edged blade has a fuller running the length. Fine miniature here. The engravings on this desk piece, though, really tell the story. The top tube is engraved on either side of the knighthead, "Trade" and "Mark". Below this is engraved, "August Reichwald/ 9 New Broad Street, London E.C.." On the lower tube is engraved, "Sole representative in/ Great Britain and Ireland for/ Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co,/ Solingen." On the opposite side of the lower tube is engraved, "Manufacturers of seamless drawn/ steel tubes and cycle fittings/ made of steel only.". Obviously the tubes here, represent the frames for bicycles produced by this company. Additionally, August Reichwald apparently handled hunting/forestry/shooting supplies for British sports enthusiasts. The name "August Reichwald" is certainly a German name. Perhaps Mr. Reichwald immigrated to England, or his family did a generation or two earlier. A really neat accent piece for either the WKC collector, the collector interested in hunting and forestry or perhaps, a miniature collector.

POT - 041 - METLACH CIVILIAN THEME BEER STEIN -

This attractive stein features mostly shades of brown colors with pewter crest-style lever and fine closing top. The front of the stein portrays the beauty of an Imperial German village with mountains in the background and large church being the central feature among the other buildings. The rest of the stein body is a darker brown color portraying floral pattern. The top insert has a raised crest which is the National heraldry of Germany. Around the black, white and red crest is a saying, Germania seis Panier. There is a crack and a tiny bit of material missing at this lid (repaired). The rim is marked, "1/2 L". The bottom of the stein has lots of factory markings, "Metlach", "25", "99" "1795" and "II". There is also a hallmark of a castle-like structure. Shame about the crack at the lid, but still a pretty nice stein for display.

POT - 042 - DAMASCUS LETTER OPENER TYPE KNIFE -

The grip of this example is in the form of a simple knife featuring a mixture of wood and metal portions with a quillon having swirled ends. The blade is the main feature. It is a most beautiful Damascus having all kinds of swirls and twirls. It is kind of a peacock pattern mixed with a band. Beautiful, high quality piece of Damascus. The tang is stamped, "Echter Damascener, C.W.", which is the marking of the 3rd Reich smith, Carl Wester. Looks pre-war, but since there are no swastikas, impossible to tell the exact date it was produced. A great-looker, though. Excellent Plus (19170) $1,495.00

POT - 043 - ORIGINAL HÖLLER PAPER SHIPPING SACK FOR SWORD

This shipping bag is in mint condition, and would go great with a Höller- made saber in the same condition. An exact example of this paper bag can be seen in Johnson Volume III, Page 229, and also Volume V, Page 201. The bag measures about 40 inches, and is complete with six inch-long fold-over flap. The paper is a brown heavy manila. Printed in black on the obverse is, "F.W. Höller, Waffenfabrik, Solingen, Gegründet 1866". The above is done in four lines beneath which is the thermometer trademark. Beneath that is printed, "Höller Qualitats-Waffe". Beneath this is a line for both the Model number and Length. Since these lines are blank, any sword can be used with this bag. A great way to display your Höller-made saber. Have several.Mint $ 40.00

POT - 044 -26959C French Model 1840 Saber/Bayonet

This rather long, French Model sidearm, measures about 28 inches overall in the scabbard. The hilt section is composed of brass. This brass grip has been lined to provide a good handhold for the carrier. There is also a mortise and lock assembly set into the brass, which appears to be steel. This assembly still works good, and there is a slot on the spine area, where the entire bayonet would have fit onto an appropriate French rifle. The bayonet has a beak design at the pommel, similar to German types. The crossguard is composed of steel and one side curves downward ending in a teardrop, whereas the other side is holed, where the rifle barrel would have gone through the area. Stamped into the surface of the crossguard is the number “93379”. On the obverse crossguard is stamped the number “R871C35”. The accompanying scabbard does not have any numbers on it. This scabbard is of all steel base, and has been nickel plated. The plating shows age and some lifting, but overall, considering its age, it is really not too bad. The blade of this example is a rather nasty looking thing, which has a slight “snake” to its shape. There is a very wide fuller in the blade, and it appears to have a fairly sharp edge with a tip which points upward. This is a very serious looking weapon here, and not something you would want to see coming at you from the front. This blade also shows age and a slight dulling to its original finish, but overall, again considering its age I think it is in pretty good condition. This is a good collectable weapon for those interested in French militaria. Excellent, Plus (26959-C) $325.00

POT - 045 -27182C Model 1902 United States Officer’s Saber

This United States Officer’s Saber is of quality construction throughout and no doubt was produced in Germany for sale to the United States Army. The hilt of this saber is a Cavalry basket style having three tiers. At the upper portion of the guard is a slot, which may have been meant for wear of a portepee. Below the three tiers in the basket, is a downward pointing quillon, which ends in a teardrop. The pommel area has a peened-style tang. The grip appears to be made of a black bakelite, and it is modeled with four ribs to form a good hand hold. There is a plain backstrap, and a lined ferrule. The scabbard is curved and is a nickel plated type, with drag at the bottom. The scabbard has a flared throat, which is retained by two domehead side screws, also nickel plated. The scabbard is equipped with two hanging bands, which have eyelets and hanging rings. The nickel plated finish throughout the scabbard is still in perfect condition, showing only the most minor signs of age, being just a slight amount of wear at the back ring area. The curved blade is equipped with a fuller, and very much resembles a German Officer’s type, with the exception the tip has a more drastic point. The blade is triple etched. The obverse features raised out designs of cannon and drums with floral motif, and in the center are the initials “US”. Further up, are crossed swords and standarts. The opposite side of the blade has more floral devices, and an open panel, which may have been there for a possible dedication. In the center is the American open winged eagle, with “E Pluribus Unum” above in a ribbon. After this, are more standarts and floral designs. These etches have beautiful frosted backgrounds. There is no doubt that this blade was produced in Germany. The spine area also has a frosted background with floral designs. This blade is in a full mint condition. A fine United States Officer’s saber here. Near Mint (27182-C) $250.00

POT - 046 -27199C Deck of German Playing Cards

This deck of German playing cards, I believe are for pinochle, but I’m not sure, as I don’t play cards myself. There are no printed numbers on these cards, just the symbols of spades, diamonds, etc. Someone has written the numbers on the cards; I guess so that they could play with them. POT - 057 -27086C Army Wehrpass/NSKOV Papers in Leather Folder

This Army Wehrpass is in good condition, issued “3 May 1937”, to “Albert Grugy”. This man’s picture appears in the first page, and is riveted in position. It is complete with rubber stamped images from the town of “Ulm”. There are lots of entries throughout this book, together with many stampings. For those that understand these booklets, I’m sure that this Wehrpass has much interest due to the large amount of entries. This man also appears to have been in World War 1. Accompanying the Wehrpass is an NSKOV booklet that is complete with a lot of stamps, which are glued into place. I do not know what these stamps were for. The booklet does not appear to have been issued to the same individual, as the Wehrpass, as it was given to a “V.Troyer, Marina”. Both documents are enclosed in a leatherette type folder with snap. Printed in gilt on the front of the folder is “Wehrpass”. A nice couple of documents here.Excellent (27086-C) $250.00

POT - 059 -27216C Feldherrnhalle Letter Opener

These Feldherrnhalle letter openers were made for the 1986 MAX Show in St. Louis, by a French collector. The collector had them cast in France, and they are finished in a beautiful bronze and antique look. These letter openers sold out several years ago, and this example was currently located during an office cleanup detail. This Feldherrnhalle letter opener is in perfect mint condition, and is still in its little suede container. These were very popular with collectors, and this is a great opportunity to acquire one and use for your desk. Although they are Post-war made, the detail is extraordinary. POT - 060 -19595 Porcelain Dinner Plate from Ribbentrop Diplomatic Service

This Porcelain Dinner Plate is about 9 ½ inches round. It is done in a beautiful fine white and has a silver rim. The plate is plain on the front. The reverse, though, really tells the story. There is a black underglaze Diplomatic-style closed winged eagle and swastika positioned over a globe. Beneath this, is a wreath of oak leaves. There are marks, which must have been made by the factory for run numbers, and the factory name is in a tan color being “KPM”. KPM was one of the finest porcelain makers in Europe. A beautiful addition here, for someone who also may have Diplomatic silver to place next to this fine porcelain plate. Mint (19595) $295.00

POT - 062 -27081C American World War I Helmet with Printed Insignia

This World War I Helmet appears to have lost the original liner inside, but the chinstrap and related leather is still there, held by a rivet to the center inner upper area. The leather has the name of the original wearer written in pencil, “C.Van Gieson”. The outside of the helmet has an olive drab paint, which shows quite a bit of age. This paint is probably about 80%. On either side of the helmet is an artillery-style shell, painted in a blue color. The artillery round is positioned between a letter “W”, and a circle around the entire depiction. The circle is done in black paint. I am not familiar with what this is, but it might make a good display for those of you collecting American World War I items

POT - 063 -27082C Japanese Officer’s Sun Helmet

This 27082C Officer’s Sun Helmet is in completely perfect condition throughout. It is an off-white color linen material, which is sewn over a composition base. Further up, at the point where the helmet goes over the head, there is an additional olive drab band. Above this is a yellow 5-pointed star, with an olive drab background. This is cloth, and is sewn to the helmet. There is also an olive drab chinstrap in place, with adjustment straps. This helmet is in totally perfect condition, with no flaws. The inside is lined with an olive drab cotton, sewn in the same way as the outside. There are resting points for the head, composed of cotton material. There is also a sewn-in blank label, which must have been for the original owner’s name. In the inner area, at the front rim, is some white Japanese character writing, but I don’t know what these mean. A beautiful sun helmet here, and something that is rarely encountered. POT - 064 -27166 Naval Marked Binoculars

This set of binoculars still has good lenses, but the outside shows quite a bit of wear and tear. It is all there, however, and I believe has good collector interest, because of the outstanding markings. The left upper lens area is marked with the Naval open winged German eagle, which clutches a mobile swastika. To the left of the eagle is the capital letter “M”, which stands for “Marine”. On the right side of the swastika wreath is the “Division IV/I”. Next to this is the maker name and city, Carl Zeiss,/Jena”. Below this is the apparent size of these binoculars, as well as the serial number, “DF 7X50”. Below is the serial number “2076928”. On the opposite right hand top of the lens, is the large letter “N”. This stands for the German Harbor at “Wilhelmshaven”, which was the “Nordsee” port. Below this is the number “Mr. 17850”. A fine set of binoculars to display with other Naval items, or maybe just a good set for collectors of Carl Zeiss optics.Excellent, Plus (27166) $350.00

POT - 066 -26962C Hermann Göering “Work and Life” Book

This Hermann Göering “Work and Life” Book has blue linen hard cover, with gilded title on the front page, and on the binding also further gilt work. The binding is very interesting, as it has the name of the work at the top, “Hermann Göering Werk Und Menseh”, and below this are a series of symbols, representing the organizations to which Hermann Göering belonged. At the top is a fine open winged SA eagle clutching swastika, beneath this is an early droop-tail Luftwaffe eagle clutching swastika, and below this is the Prussian Feldjaeger eagle, with swastika on his breast and clutching a sword in one talon and lightening bolts in the other. At the bottom is the insignia of the National Hunting Association. This features a stag head, with raised swastika in the center. If nothing else, the binding alone is great to look at! The book, of course, contains the exciting life of Hermann Göering, with lots of extremely interesting pictures that feature him from his early days as a World War I Blue Max winner, through his days of 1940 when he became a full Luftwaffe Field Marshall. Some of the prints in this book are very exciting, and portray many events during the 3rd Reich time, which involved Hermann Göering. The photographs are outstanding, and if you have never seen one of these books, I’m sure that you will enjoy looking through this copy. A fine collectable here.Excellent, Plus (26962-C) $195.00

POT - 067 -27218C Army Wedding Presentation Plaque

This Army Wedding Presentation Plaque is in full mint condition, and measures approximately 10 ½ inches by 8 ½ inches. It is the standard style plaque, having the oak backing, which is painted black. The grain of the oak still shows through nicely, and the edges are all beveled. The reverse of the plaque has two of the standard triangular-style hangers, and there are also two round cut out holes, which reveal the bolts and nuts, which retain the applied brass devices. This plaque has a bust of an Army soldier profile, wearing a transitional style helmet. The helmet has the National insignia on the right side, indicating that it is a Nazi period piece, as there is no other date on it. The detail to the helmet and the Frankenstein-like air vent is exceptional. The face chinstrap, uniform collar insignia, and the shoulder board, with number “23” on it, is just outstanding. The hasp and buckle to the chinstrap almost look real, they are so well done. The expression on the face of the soldier is very pensive, seen from the side. The plaque mount is of absolute highest quality brass. Below the soldier bust is a fine brass presentation plaque. The plaque is rectangular, and then steps in at the bottom to form another small rectangle. At the top is a series of overlapping oak leaves, and in the center is a wreath of oak leaves. The presentation is professionally rendered, with state-of-the art engraving. The dedication is done in 5 lines, “U.lb. “Carlo” u.seiner Frau/z. Hochzeit/gewidmet/Din Soldatan Brautführer/Heinrich u. Clamans”. This plaque roughly translates to “Given to Carlo and His Wife on their Wedding Day from their Soldier Best Men Heinrich and Clamans”. The presentation is done in an outstanding manner, and really is a work of art. This plaque is in a fantastic condition, and does not appear to ever even been put up on the wall. This is a fine item to add to the wall of your collecting room. I have never seen a plaque like it, and it is of absolute highest quality throughout.Mint (27218-C) $895.00

POT - 068 -27008 “Eagle on Boulder” Shooting Prize Trophy

This is a great looking Shooting Prize Trophy. It features a silvered eagle, standing on a large boulder, with his wings flapping just ready to take off. The trophy measures about 7 inches in height, and the eagle’s wingspread is about 9 inches. The detail to the bird is outstanding throughout. The bird has his beak open in a screeching position. The claws are resting on a large mountain style boulder. The boulder is positioned on a nice black piece of marble, which has some gray highlights. The marble has a blue felt base on the bottom showing mild wear, and it appears to be the original. The marble base has a small plaque attached at the front edge. This plaque is about 2 inches wide by ¾ of an inch. It has a jeweler done presentation, “3./J.R.61/Preisschiessen/1936”. This would translate to, “Presented to the 3rd Jaeger Regiment 61Shooting Prize 1936. This trophy would certainly look good on your collecting shelf. It has everything great about it and will make you smile when you look at it.

POT - 069 -27079C Imperial German/Austrian Unity Stein

This Unity Stein comes from the World War I period, and is dated 1914. It features a likeness of Kaiser Wilhelm, and the Austrian leader Franz Josef, seating next to one another. The Prussian State Eagle and the Austrian State Eagle are also side-by-side. The two leaders are shown within a wreath of oak leaves. Obviously, this stein commemorated the joining of these two Kings for the World War I fight. The stein is a gray color, and the wreath is probably a decal, with green leaf colors and the colors of both countries with ribbons. The slogan is written across the front, “Wir halten fest und treu zusammen”. The stein is quipped with a fine pewter lid, which features a Prussian Eagle with a Crown on the opening portion, and the lid itself has an Iron Cross, which is nicely detailed with a Prussian Crown, the letter “W”, and the date 1914. This stein is marked “1/2 liter”, and at the bottom has some initials, as well as a maker signature. A very nice item in choice condition, and great for display.

POT - 070 -27100 Shooting Battalion Stein

This Shooting Battalion Stein is a one-liter size, made of a gray-like material. It is in perfect condition throughout, with a fine pewter lid. The lid is professionally engraved with the monogram of the original owner, “OE”. The engraving is very fancy. The stein itself, on the face, has the name of the organization and the town from where they came, “Landes-Schützen-Batl. 507/Ingolstadt”. The town of Ingolstadt is not too far from Munich, in Bavaria. The front of the stein portrays a red, white, and black ring, within which is a set of oak leaves and acorns, having a 3rd Reich helmet superimposed. The helmet is shown from the left side, and portrays the transitional-type style with large air vents, and a Wehrmacht eagle with swastika below. There is also a brown chinstrap with buckle, which is very visible. At the bottom of the helmet is a set of crossed K-98 rifles, and also some sort of an automatic weapon, that looks to me, like a water-cooled Maxim gun. The detail is really good throughout this depiction. The stein has a small narrow rim in red around the top, and a thicker rim around the bottom. A great display item in complete perfect condition.Mint (27100) $595.00

POT - 071 -27162 Winter Relief Collection Can

This Winter Relief Collection Can is about 9 ½ inches tall, and approximately 4 ½ inches in width at the diameter. It has a handle attached to the back of it. It is an all-metal item, having a lid which is able to be lifted by raising a hasp and lock mechanism. The lid has the serial number “8567” coming out of the stamping, and obviously, the person who was in charge of collecting, would have had his name assigned to this number. There is a small hole in the lid, in which the words “Badier geld” are raised out, meaning if you are going to give paper money, to please put it in the little hole. The face of the can, at the bottom, has the district where it was used, pressed out of the metal. It is “Gau Hessen-Massau”. Apparently, each different Gau was responsible for collecting its own winter relief funds. Affixed to the outside center area of the can is a manila color paper, on which in the center has a rib style eagle which retains an immobile swastika within a plain wreath. Written in black writing across the depiction is, “Winter-Hilfswelk des Deutschen Volkes”. Below this is, “Ver Gaubeaustragte Hessen-Massau”. This paper printing is interesting, as it also in line with the impression coming out the bottom of the can. A really fine item here, and I also notice there is writing as to the maker pressed out of the bottom of the can, “Wvsco”, along with the town they are from, “Neheim-Ruhr”. This is a fine display item to put on your table with other collectables, and maybe someone will even come along and put in a Reichmark or two, on your behalf. There is a little slot at the top of the can for this purpose, however, there is a mechanism inside, that once the decision is made to put the coin in, you can’t get it out again!Near Mint (27162) $350.00

POT - 072 -27142 Early Political Pole Top

This Political pole top is the early style, which would have a brass base, with fine nickel plated surface. The pole top features an open winged Political eagle with a wingspread of about 8 ½ inches. The bird looks to the viewer’s right, and has outstanding detail to his brow, beak, eye, breast feathers, and wing feathers. His detailed talons grasp a wreath of oak leaves, which has a “floating” mobile swastika in the center. The reverse is also finished in the same manner, except of course, the bird looks to the left, and the swastika is backwards. The threaded area, which connects to the bottom of the wreath, as well as the original nut, is still in place. The cylindrical piece, which fits over this threaded stem, has gone to time. A good item here.Excellent, Plus (27142) $495.00

POT - 073 -27143 DAF Pole Top

This DAF Pole Top is made of all-aluminum construction, and is quite light- weight, accordingly. It measures about 10 inches overall, and the width of the gearwheel structure is about 6 inches in diameter. The pole top has a floating style mobile swastika in the center, and the teeth of the gearwheel go around it.At the base of the gearwheel is an aluminum strut connector, which goes to a cylindrical bottom pedestal portion, which would have gone over the top of the pole. This pedestal has a couple of pre-drilled holes, for screw retainage. Since the DAF was a Party controlled organization, this pole top has RZM markings on it. It is stamped, “RZMMS/40/38”. A good item here and not seen too often.Excellent, Plus (27143) $425.00

POT - 074 -27144 NSKOV Early Pole Top

This NSKOV Pole Top is an early type, being of extremely heavy brass base, having a nickel plated surface. The surfaces throughout show some mild wear, but look to be at least 90%. The NSKOV organization consisted of veterans, who were wounded fighting for the Nazi Party in the early days of the rise to power in the 1920’s. This pole top consists of an oval oak leaf, which is open in the center. In the center area, there is a Roman style broad sword, which pierces throughout the oval wreath. Superimposed over the blade of the sword, is a Maltese style Iron Cross, with very large swastika in the center. The swastika is the mobile type, and it has a red background, which clashes nicely with the black background of the legs of the Iron Cross. This pole top is quite large, measuring 15 inches overall. At the bottom of the wreath is a cylindrical style connector, which went over the pole. There are pre-drilled holes in this cylinder, for usage of screw retainage. The cylinder is marked on the upper portion, “Ges. Gesch.” and “Otto Gahr”. Otto Gahr is quite well known to collectors, as his firm was the producers of the Deutschland Erwache Eagles, which were also pole tops on the Party Standarte. The Gahr firm also produced the SS Honor Ring, as well as the Silver hilt Sections, for the Himmler Birthday Degens. This is a very important producer here to collectors! A desirable pole top here. Excellent, Plus (27144) $595.00

POT - 075 -27145 NSKOV Late Pole Top

This NSKOV Pole Top is of lightweight material, made of all aluminum. It measures a little over 15 inches overall. The depiction consists of a wreath of oak leaves, which is open in the center. Placed through the center area is a Roman broad sword, with a superimposed Iron Cross, having a mobile swastika in the center. The legs of the Iron Cross are a black paint, and the background of the swastika is a red paint. There is age showing to this paint, and some of it is missing on the surfaces, but overall it rates at maybe 85% to 90%. The bottom of the wreath has a cylindrical connection, which is meant to slide over the top of the pole. There a couple of pre-drilled countersunk holes, which were meant for screw retainage. The cylinder is stamped with the RZM control “M7/27”. A nice looking pole top here, representing the Veteran’s Organization, which were wounded while fighting during the rising-to-power time of Hitler, in the 1920’s.Excellent, Plus (27145) $550.00

POT - 076 -27009 Bronze Eagle on Marble with SA Presentation

This is a magnificent Bronze Eagle on marble, which I was lucky enough to acquire as a “walk-in”, at the recent SOS show. The bronze eagle is extremely appealing looking, having wings half open up in the air, with a spread of approximately 12 inches. The bird is highly detailed, and is looking as though he is flapping to rise upward from his current perch. This bird is deeply patinated, and has never been cleaned. There are also some signs of greenish mold here and there, and lots of dirt – exactly what we like! The marble base is a three- tiered affair, which is about 6 inches in height. It is a dark green color, having swirls of white intermingling throughout the surfaces. The base portion of the marble has a chunk missing out of the rear left corner. I know this is a shame, but realistically, it does not show from the front, so it is not a big deal to me, and hopefully, it will not be to you. The obverse of this choice green marble has an applied matching bronze wreath of oak leaves, which contains a floating mobile style swastika in the center. The swastika has a background of matching swirled green marble. This image also has lots of greenish mold and patination. Just an outstanding look here, and for those who enjoy these kind of period things, I cannot emphasize how great this trophy looks. But there is still more, as on the reverse, there is a rectangular matching bronze applied plaque, with a round area at the top containing a large set of beautifully engraved SA unit symbols. They look the same as they appear on the dagger, except they are larger. On either side of this unit symbol is the date of the dedication, “30.4.1938”. Below this, is the dedication in four lines, done in beautiful Gothic engraving. “Ihrem alten Stuf/Otto Baur/die Kameraden von/Sturm 25/121”. This SA presentation was given on April 30th, 1938. It translates to, “Presented to Our old Sturmführer, Otto Baur from his Comrades, in Sturm 25/121”. This is an outstanding opportunity to do some research on Otto Baur, as he must have been important to this Sturm group. You have more than enough information here to begin this study. Once you have compiled a dossier displayed next to this fantastic trophy, you will have one great item for your collecting room. It will have all of your collecting friends in awe. A fantastic original item here, which has never been in a collection. I forgot to tell you that the man who brought this into a gun show was obviously a drunk man, and had to be dealt with from a distance, and with your nose pinched closed. This is the way we all like to acquire things. This man was apparently a dumpster-diver type.Excellent, Plus (27009) $2,495.00

POT - 077 -27010 Silver Shooting Trophy from 1930

This Silver Shooting Trophy is of traditional loving cup design, and is produced from “800” silver. The trophy measures about 13 inches in overall height, and the diameter at the top is about 4 ½ inches. The inside of this beautiful cup is all gold washed. The gold wash looks to be mostly all there. The upper portions of the cup are staged with a flared out rim at the top. This portion of the cup is in a plain finish. In the center area, there is a beautiful jeweler engraved wreath of laurel leaves. These laurel leaves include nice strokes for veining, and also the berries are in the leaves. At the bottom of the wreath is a beautifully formed bow. In the center is the purpose of the trophy and the date it was won, “Schützenkönig 1930”. This, of course means “Shooting King for 1930”. This cup would have been awarded to the Club champion for that year. The plainness of the cup, though, completely disappears below the center area. Here, there are beautiful worked floral designs, which are in very deep relief. This workmanship is absolutely exquisite throughout. The lid of the cup also has the same beautiful floral designs in relief. At the top of the lid is a target-like device, that has some sort of a weapon featured over both sides. The bottom of the cup is jeweler hallmarked, along with the silver content “800”. Additionally, the number “77607” appears in the same area. A most beautiful work of art here, as good as it gets.Mint (27010) $1,895.00

This Cream Pitcher measures about 4 inches in height, and at its widest point it is about 3 inches. It is the traditional shape of a cream pitcher, and is in white porcelain, with nice yellow trim lines on the edges. The bottom of the pitcher is marked with the green intertwined SS Allach proof marks. A fine item here, that you can use to put cream into your coffee, in the morning at your desk. POT - 079 - HIMMLER DEDICATED / SIGNED ARCHITECTURAL BOOK

This hardback book is entitled, "Neue Deutsche Baukunst". It measures approximately 9 _-inches by 12-inches format. It consists of 96 pages which have some fantastic architectural photographs of prominent Nazi sights. These include great shots of statuary, artwork and buildings in such places as Munich, Nuremberg, the Reich Chancellery and also many of the Berlin memorials. The Honor Temples are shown as is Hitler's personal offices in the F_hrerbau. Lots of neat things to look at here in the best of black and white photography. But what makes this book even more interesting, is the fact that it has a personal dedication by Heinrich Himmler. The first page has the inked dedication, "SS-Oberf_hrer / Georg Aumeier / Mit Meinen Herzlichen Geburtstagsw_nschen". This translates to, "SS General George Aumeier with my heartfelt wishes for your birthday". The lettering for this dedication is beautifully done and probably was rendered by an SS staff artist. Below this, is the Himmler signature with his closing word in German which is illegible but means, "yours", and then the "H. Himmler" signature. Beneath this, is the date of the presentation, "14 November 1943", which was also written in ink by the renderer. Obviously Himmler gave this gift to a favorite SS General for his birthday. It is well known that Himmler kept a gift list for his upper echelon personnel. SS General Aumeier must not have rated too high as other SS Generals received gifts such as Damascus swords, Damascus honor daggers, signed portraits in silver frames, Persian rugs, etc., etc. This is a fine item, however, and would make a great edition to any collector's library.

POT - 080 - CASED WORLD WAR I GERMAN OFFICER'S FIELD GRAY BINOCULARS

These binoculars are a fairly small, easy to handle, size. The binoculars measure 4 ½-inches in length and they are finished in an olive drab military color. The finish is still about 98% and the optics seem to be in fine condition. There is also a leather strap which is attached to the binoculars for wear around the neck. The sight adjustment is marked, "Germany - 08" with a serial number below, "37525". Below this, is a maker mark, "Schütz and Company A.G. Cassel". This, to me, indicates that these binoculars were made in 1908, and at that time, it was mandatory that goods being exported be marked with the name of the country. The accompanying case is a fine brown leather which has a strap on each side with a boss holding the lid closed. There is also a rectangular closed hardware piece which was riveted for use of an applied hanging strap. In addition to this, there are belt loops elaborately made with brass and boss hardware, should the owner wish to carry these glasses suspended from a belt. The front of the case is ink-marked in European style letters, "26610". The maker of the case is stamped on the back, "C.P. Goerz A.G. Berlin". These fine glasses were definitely made for the German military, otherwise they would not have the olive drab color. A good opportunity to acquire something nice from the Great War.

POT - 081 - IMPERIAL NAVAL PORCELAIN PIPE

This fine pipe measures about 18-inches in length. The lower section is all porcelain while the upper area appears to have been made out of hickory wood with the mouth drawing section formed of bake-o-lite. The hickory section has string and a NCO shaving brush style troddel wrapped about. The string is in the National colors of red, white and black, and the shaving brush troddel has a slide of blue, a stem of brown, a cap of blue felt and the shaving brush area is white. Obviously, these were the colors worn by naval NCO's with their Imperial bayonet. The right porcelain section, at the bottom, contains a custom made, hand painted and fired design. It indicates that the pipe was given by a brother to his returning sea faring other brother. It features the Imperial crown at the center area over a German naval flag and Imperial flag. Beneath the flags, is a wreath with the remark, "Willkommen / Lieber / Bruder". This means, "Welcome home loving brother". Beneath, is a beautiful painted sailing ship, and surrounding the scene of the ship, is a well dressed civilian shaking the hand of a navy man complete in uniform and carrying an oar. Beneath this depiction is the name of the returning brother, "Theod. Schoppe". On the back of the pipe are other designs and slogans which indicate he was with the 2nd Marine Division out of Wilheimshaven from 1894 to 1897, and served aboard His Majesty's steam ship, "Wörth". Lots of stuff to look at here on this fine pipe. The top of the pipe has a closed metal-like device which covers the fired area. This pipe is complete and is very collectible for someone interested in Imperial naval items. This is a rarely seen pipe.

POT - 082 - PERIOD PRODUCED DAMASCUS BLADE FOR LETTER OPENER

This Damascus blade is a real beauty still being in mint condition and produced by the famous smith, Carl Wester. The blade measures about 6 ¾-inches in length, and at its widest point, it is about 1 ¼-inches. The pattern in the blade is an extremely prominent "band" pattern. If you are not familiar with Damascus this looks like a piece of Turkish taffy being pulled apart! Extremely beautiful pattern here, and a great piece just to put on your shelf as a decorator, or you may wish to mount it in some type of a grip and use it on your desk for opening letters. There is a slight fault in the Damascus about 2-inches from the tip near the lower edge. Apparently this is the reason this blade is still unmounted. Carl Wester may have looked at the flaw and put the blade up on the shelf. At any rate, it is a fantastic example of period craftsmanship and the obverse side has no flaw whatsoever and could not be more beautiful. The tang is stamped in the center, "Echter / Damascener / C.W.". There is also a number stamped into the tang, "3". Once again, this is absolutely a period, hand forged Damascus blade, and would look great in any collector's display.

POT - 083 - Army Issue Pocket Knife by Alcoso

This pocketknife measures a little bit over four inches. It has field green color grip plates attached to the outside case area of this jack knife. Both sides of the case plates have seven lined segments running the length and have a type of serrated surface so that the hand easily grabs hold. These plates are retained by four rivets. There is a three-inch knife blade that opens from one end and the other end has a corkscrew and a can opener tool. The knife ricasso is stamped, “Alcoso, Solingen.” I believe that these pocketknives were either issue items or could be purchased in the Army PX.

POT - 084 - ARMY GOGGLES IN CASE

These simple goggles were the type which were worn over the front of the peaked cap made most famous by Field Marshall Rommel. These are simple devices with elastic banding and they fold flat. These goggles are still in their original case. The case looks to have been made out of Ersatz material. The case is marked on the front, “Bwz”, over the number, “7” and in the corner, is the date they were made, “44.” These goggles were never issued and are perfect for you to put on one of your Africa Korps hats or the like.

POT - 087 - AUTOGRAPHED ADMIRAL DÖNITZ PHOTOGRAPH

This fine photograph measures approximately 6 inches by 4 ½ inches. It looks to be a studio portrait which probably was a Dönitz handout. The Grand Admiral is pictured in his scrambled egg hat along with great coat having red lapels. The shoulder boards are the large admiral’s type and he is wearing his Oak Leaves to the Knight’s Cross. The autograph appears to be done with an ink pen. It is rather difficult to see the signature, as some of it runs over the dark sections of his naval blue coat which, of course, are black on the photograph. I guaranty it to be completely original, however. Dönitz autographed photographs are not all that common.

POT - 088 - PAIR OF PORCELAIN VANITY BOXES ATTRIBUTED TO HERMAN GÖRING

These two little boxes are made of porcelain each being identical and having a lid which comes off. These boxes appear to be decorative items which would have been placed on the vanity of perhaps a guest room and used for storage of small accessory items such as cuff links, etc. The boxes were brought back from Göring’s Berchtesgaten residence by a returning veteran. (I have a letter from him validating this information.) The lids of these boxes are equipped with a circular device which acts as a lifting handhold. Decorating the lid’s surface is a sword, rifle and flintlock style pistol. At the front is a spiked helmet. They give the look of a hunting motif. The box itself has lots of flower style rim designs with the head of a deer on the obverse area. The boxes are trimmed with gild, green, and brown colors, most of which has worn off over the years. On one box, a portion of the rifle has been broken off and has gone to time. The other box is complete and in perfect condition. The inner lid is marked, “1944” on one of the boxes. The other example has no markings anywhere. If you stand back and look at these items, they give the appearance of little miniature bureaus with mirrors at the top. They are really quite nice and easy to imagine Göring having as part of his décor. These boxes are about 5 inches high with the lid on and about 4 inches wide. They are what they are, and would be perfect for the right collector out there.

POT - 089 - 27224 - SET OF THREE LEATHER AMMO POUCHES

This set of leather ammo pouches has surfaces which are heavily grained throughout. The black leather has straps which have eyelets on the bottom and they go over bosses to keep the upper flaps closed over the pouches. The reverse of the ammo pouches has two belt loops which are retained by metal and rivet sets, and there is also a rectangular piece of hardware which could
be used as a ring for snapping a clip to. These ammo cases are in good, serviceable condition.

The reverse of these pouches is marked “44" and “0/1235/0007". The reverse also has two belt loops which are rivet held and there is a rectangular ring which could be used to attach a snap clip. A good set of ammo pouches here.

POT - 091 - 27252 - SILVER CIGARETTE CASE

This period silver cigarette case measures approximately 3½ inches by 3½ inches. Both sides of the case have a fine checkered pattern which alternates with a fluted line pattern. The cigarette case is definitely from the 1930s and still has a crispness about it. Opening the case up, the inside is gold washed and has all of the gilding surface remaining. Also, the two elastic straps which held the cigarettes in place are also there and still in good, newlike condition. It is very unusual to see these elastic straps still in place. The inside of the case is stamped “199" and on the edge of the inside of the case there are silver hallmarks. The case is marked “925" and also has the initials “s.f.”. A fine cigarette case here, which comes from a Veteran source and was said to have been carried by a captured German officer.Excellent Plus. $150.00

POT - 092 - 27253 - GERMAN MESS KIT

This mess kit is missing the spoon, which is a part of the four-piece construction. The rest of it is all there, consisting of the outside can opener type utensil which has a stamped open-winged eagle looking to the viewer’s left and clutching a swastika. The original knife and fork are still with this mess kit. Maybe it would be possible to find a spoon to complete the set. It is priced accordingly.
Excellent. $65.00

POT - 093 - 27231 - GERMAN MESS KIT

This mess kit has all four utensils, although they apparently are mismatched, as I see the numbers “341" and “681" stamped respectively on the utensils. The obverse piece, which is the can open section holding the kits together, is marked “341" and has an open-winged eagle which clutches a swastika and looks to the left. The knife matches up with the mess kit and the fork and spoon apparently are from another kit, as they have different numbers and are made of aluminum.

POT - 094 - 4061 - BOAR’S WHISKER HUNTER’S HAT PLUME

This hat plume comes from a hunter’s hat and is a period piece. The plume consists of long boar’s whiskers connected at the end to a green wool material. There is a Reich cockade attached at the bottom. The cockade has a red insert made of wool, while the next ring, instead of being white, is a gold color. The outer ring is fluted and is the usual black. A great looking thing here, and could be a real life saver if you are missing this important decoration from your hunter’s “hut”.
Excellent Plus. $175.00

POT - 095 - 27286C - IMPERIAL WATCH FAB

This watch fab is quite beautiful, having what appears to be a low carat gold or perhaps gold-filled fittings. There are two chains which are connected to a large round clip where the watch would have gone. At the end of the two chains on the opposite end is the pointed end section of a rifle bullet which has had its cap beautifully decorated with a gold crown and laurel leaf embellishment. Also attached is a gold framed coin which at the top of the frame has a pair of oak leaves with a pink color gemstone in the center. The coin is not something we see too often, being a two-mark coin depicting Keiser Friederich. Friederich, unfortunately, only reigned for 90 days when he died of throat cancer. The reverse of the coin has a Hohenzollern eagle and below it the fact that it represents “zwei” marks. A nice looking item here and very attractive if you should have a watch from this era to display it with.

POT - 096 - 27283C - LUFTWAFFE SQUADRON PLAQUE DECORATION

This Luftwaffe squadron decoration depicts a Luftwaffe eagle with swastika mounted over one “die” from a pair of dice. The eagle is the early droop tail type and it is clutching a mobile swastika in one of his claws. The eagle apparently was made in a machine shop, probably by one of the members of this particular crew. The swastika is mounted over the one die which has all of its numbers partially drilled into the surfaces and the inside area filled with red paint. The bottom of the die shows an area where this depiction must have been mounted on some type of a base. It would be an easy thing to find an appropriate base, either a nice piece of wood or possibly a piece or marble, and do your own mounting. It also shouldn’t be too difficult to find out which Luftwaffe squadron this decoration represented. A neat historical item here.
Excellent Plus. $995.00

POT - 097 - 27284C - NÜRMBURG POLITICAL DESK EAGLE

This Nürmburg Political desk eagle is a genuine example. You have to be careful of these eagles, as they are frequently reproduced. This example has a fine bronze look to its half-open Political style eagle’s wings. The wings are highly detailed throughout the feathering and the bird looks to the viewer’s right. This bird has a great, noble beak, brow and head area. His claws are extended in an artful manner, and he clutches a wreath made of oak leaves. Inside of the wreath is an immobile raised out swastika. This fine bird is positioned on a pedestal with three descending sizes. At the bottom is a white marble base having a slight amount of gray color in the marble. This eagle is probably cast of white metal, as there are a couple of areas on the high spots where there is a slight gray color showing through the bronze finish. The reverse of the casting is marked with a single open RZM circle and, next to it, the code of the producer “M3/100". A nice looking, rarely seen original example. It will look good on your desk while you are making phone calls or opening letters. Excellent Plus Plus. $1,995.00

POT - 098 - 27282C - BRASS OPEN-WINGED EAGLE

This brass eagle is an extremely fine looking example which may have at one time been mounted on a marble base. The bottom of the bird does show an open area where a rod or some other device would have affixed this bird to a solid base. The bird is a open-winged variety which looks nobly to the viewer’s right. The details to the brow, eye, beak, breast feathering, wing feathering, claws and wreath are outstanding. This figure is double sided and almost looks as good on the reverse as it does the obverse, as the eagle is depicted on the reverse as its back body, so, this bird is really a separate casting on both sides. The swastika is the mobile style which is floating within the wreath having piercing around its edges. The wingspread of the bird is 11½ inches. The bird is made of a bronze base and as stated above, has outstanding detail throughout. It would not be difficult job to mount this bird onto some kind of a solid base to give it the status it deserves from a historical perspective. This would make one great desk piece! Excellent Plus Plus. $1,995.00

POT - 099 - 27285C - SS BLADE HAVING MOTTO WITH EXCLAMATION POINT - RZM M7/29

This original blade was produced by the Klittermann & Moog Company. It is the type that has the exclamation point after the SS motto and, as most collectors know, is a very desirable example. This blade is still nice and bright and has much of its original cross graining visible in the surfaces. There is some mild age, which is very, very slight, over the surfaces. The one flaw that the blade does have, however, is that there is a bad pit that is about 2 inches up from the ricasso on the right reverse edge. This pit is fairly large, being about a half-inch in round. A little bit of it stretches onto the edge of the other side of the blade. Apparently, some acid or some type of destructive material wound up on this blade somehow. It is a shame, but perhaps with a little work some of this could be rubbed out and even if it couldn’t, it would still make for the key piece of a very desirable dagger. This blade is absolutely real and authentic and is identical to the example I show in my SS book on Page 679, lower. The backgrounds in the SS etch are at least 98%. The reverse of the blade is matching etched with the large double RZM circle, the center being shaded. The circle is positioned over the code “M 7/29". This blade could be displayed just as it is with an SS collection, or if there is some enterprising craftsman out there, this blade could be used to build your own exclamation point motto SS dagger. I can tell you exactly what you need. The parts involved would be a set of solid nickel cross guards with no group marking on the reverse. Further, these cross guards are usually internally marked “e.w”. The grip should be a standard SS ebony type with nickel grip eagle. The scabbards on these pieces are generally found to have a period painted shell with the use of nickel upper and lower mounts. So there you are, if you can find these pieces there is no reason why you couldn’t have your own SS exclamation point dagger. These daggers generally sell in the $5,000. to $6,000. range, so there is your incentive. A good blade here, if you can do something with the large pit.

POT - 100 - 27041 - GERMAN MESS KIT

This German mess kit has all four tools present and they are all matching throughout. The tool kit is stamped “esm41". I assume that the “41" was the year that the kit was produced. The outside spoon has a German eagle and swastika stamped into it as does the base of the kit which consists of the handle area accommodating the four tools. This handle area has a an open winged eagle with swastika. A nice looking set here, which is slightly different from some of the others as the enclosing portion of the kit is a separate piece from the can opener assembly. POT - 101 - 27077C - JAPANESE NAVAL OFFICER’S BRONZE BELT BUCKLE

This Japanese bronze belt buckle is not a common item. It shows good detail throughout, having a round pebbled center area with border and, inside, a roped area. In the center is an additional round area having a raised anchor affixed to it with a large flower in the center. The belt has a rivet at the back, showing that the anchor assembly is a separate piece. This is a nicely done, quality example here and is a rarely seen belt buckle. Excellent Plus. $495.00

POT - 102 - 27120 and 27266 - IMPERIAL PILOT’S RING AND LAPEL PIN

Although these two items came from two separate sources, I think that they should be sold together. They really make a nice combination. The ring is a silver example, although I do not see any hallmarks stamped inside. What is done, though, inside is a beautiful engraving of the date “5/1/16". These numbers are done extremely well and are engraved in the European style. I suspect that the date was probably the graduation day when the original owner was qualified to fly. The ring portrays a replica of the Imperial Pilot’s Badge. It features an Imperial crown over an oval oak leaf wreath. Inside is an old-fashioned propellor driven plane cruising over a small village with mountains in the background. The details to the Pilot’s Badge are beginning to fade, but most of them are still visible. The badge is decorated on each side with a sprig of laurel leaves, complete with two berries. The ring is a fairly small size and it fits my little finger rather nicely. Accompanying the ring is a fine lapel pin. This lapel pin depicts an exact detail replica of the Imperial Pilot’s Badge. It is nicely done, appearing to be silver over a brass base. The pin has some downward cuts in its surfaces to keep it in place and there is also a locking device which slips over the bottom. A great looking pair of items here and really nice to decorate some of your other Imperial Air Korps artifacts, or maybe you could just wear them on your vest or sport jacket at the Max Show. Very nice items here.Excellent. $525.00

POT - 103 - SA WOOD PAINTED CIGARETTE BOX

This Cigarette Box is quite beautiful having an SA motif painted on the lid. The box itself is made of a fine mahogany like wood measuring about 11-inches long and about 5-inches wide with a depth of about 2 ¾-inches. When the box is opened, it reveals the area where cigarettes would have been kept. There is also a lip which seals fantastically when the lid is closed around it. The seal is just as good as it was sixty years ago when this box was made to keep cigarettes fresh. On the lid there is an impressive painting. It is a rectangular shape having a blue background. The painting portrays an SA storm trooper from the Hochland SA group. It shows the colorful storm trooper man wearing a kepi with blue trim and swastika emblazoned edelweiss flower. His collar tabs are also blue matching the kepi. In the center of the painting is a Political NSDAP swastika flag, and next to it, a large edelweiss flower with a swastika in the center. To the left of the painting is a sunwheel swastika which beneath is printed, "SA Gruppe Hochland" and the date, "1934". To the right of the scene is an SA runic symbol, and below it an arrow pointing upward signifying the runic symbol for life. This is a tremendous display item and would really go good if you happen to have an SA dagger with the "Ho" Gau mark on the crossguard. This is the Gau mark which is usually stamped far over to the right side of the crossguard. A great box here, and in my opinion, a fine work of art.

POT - 104 - JAP MANUKI FOR SAMURAI SWORD

This pair of Jap sword manuki are gilded over brass base. They both are identical and apparently were taken out of the grip of a Jap sword by the returning veteran. Fortunately they did not get thrown away. These manuki seem to display octopus-like creatures, and there is also a motif of sea shells. This is a chance to complete your sword which may be missing these important decorative original parts.

POT - 107 - (23967) - FIRST DAY ISSUE SS ENVELOPES WITH POLISH GERMAN OCCUPATION STAMPS

These two envelopes show a little bit of yellowing from age, but I find them quite fascinating and you will too. Both envelopes are addressed to SS Stürmführer Alois Hundegger / Dachau B. München / Lager F. Baracke 12". The first envelope is written in black pen and ink and the second envelope is typed with the same information. Each envelope contains three stamps. These stamps are Polish stamps which have been printed over with the Nazi open winged eagle with swastika and, "General - Gouvernemen". They are further postmarked, "Krakau" and on one envelope they are dated, "15 10 40" and on the other envelope the post marks are dated, "02 10 40". It appears that SS Stürmführer Hundegger, who was assigned to the Dachau concentration camp in Munich, had an SS friend who was involved in the Polish campaign taking over the city of Krakau. This SS friend must have purchased these envelopes with stamps as a first day issue for his "buddy" at Dachau. These envelopes and stamps remain in mint condition and I think could be quite interesting to a stamp collector or an SS collector. I'm sure that there is enough information here to provide a research project on this SS Stürmführer. Nice set of items here and highly collectible.

POT - 110 - (23525) - WORK BOOK ISSUED TO A VIENNA BANKER

This work book pictures the open winged political eagle with swastika on the front and is entitled, "Arbeitsbuch". Inside it is issued to, "Erwin Portisch". Herr Portisch was born in 1892 and there are various entries indicating his university education and his employment at a Viennese Bank beginning in 1929, and again entered in 1940. An interesting workbook in very good condition.

POT - 111 - (22919) - WORK BOOK TO FACTORY WORKER

This Arbeitsbuch is issued to "Johannes Sukek" who apparently was some type of a factory worker. There are many entries in the 1920s and 1930s along with stampings of company names. The last employment seems to have been with, "Portland - Cementfabrik Blaubeuren", indicating that this person may have been a cement worker. The eagle on the cover is the Reichswehr variety, but all of the pages have swastikas embossed into their printing. This work book shows a birthdate of "9.4.14".

POT - 112 - 23984 - ELABORATE DOCUMENT SIGNED BY ITALIAN KING VICTOR EMANUEL AND MUSSOLINI

This Italian document is printed with the Emperor of Italy, Victor Emanuel III's name at the top. It appears as, "Vittorio Emanuele III". This document is probably some type of a retirement or promotion piece for someone by the name of, "Borbui Ubaldo". However, I have no notion of the Italian language so I can not translate this. The document, however, measures 15-inches by 10-inches and is signed by Victor Emanuel as well as Mussolini and is dated, "16 August 1939". It was executed in Rome and talks about Fascism in some of the wording. A very fancy thing here and very impressive. This document has been professionally framed and is sealed within glass, the frame being overall 17-inches by 22-inches. This beautiful document is ready to go up on your collecting wall.

POT - 113 - 23985 - GESTAPO LETTER SIGNED BY HEINRICH MÜLLER

This rare letter is framed and mounted. It is written on Gestapo stationary and personally signed by Heinrich Müller, the infamous head of the Gestapo. The letter has the printed Gestapo information at the top, "Geheime Staatspolizei / Geheimes Staatspolizeiamt". On the other corner of the letter is printed, "Berlin SW11, den / Prinz - Albrecht - Strasse 8". This address should be familiar with most German collectors as it was the infamous Berlin Gestapo address. This letter is dated, "21 May 1938" and is addressed to the, "Reichskanzlei Berlin W8", and underneath that, "Wilhelmstr. 78". The letter was addressed to the Reich Chancellory and although I do not proficiently read German, this letter has something to do with the, "Jan Kiepura holiday and it does make some racial reference in the letter. Assumedly Müller is giving instructions on how this holiday was to be treated in the Reich. A very interesting letter and perhaps also very historical. It really should be translated so that its full meaning could be known. There is also mention of a letter from, "Doctor Paul Peschkowsky". A great item for collectors of Gestapo documents. This letter measures 12 x 8 inches and is mounted in a frame with glass covering measuring approximately 19-inches by 16-inches. This document is ready to go up on your wall. As far as I know, hand signed documents by the infamous Gestapo head, Müller are extremely rare.

POT - 114 - 23986 - HIMMLER SIGNED PERSONAL LETTER TO HANS FRANK

This letter is on Himmler's personal stationary as “Reichsfuhrer – SS”. The letter was written to Hans Frank who was the governor of Poland as well as being Hitler's personal civil attorney. Frank was hung at Nuremberg. In the letter Himmler thanks Frank for the funeral wreath which he supplied at Himmler's mother's funeral. The letter is dated, "15 October 1941" and bears a wonderful signature of Himmler. To the left of Himmler's signature is some other writing which may pertain to the secretary who did the typing. It is also interesting to note that the letter is addressed to, "Führer - Hauptquartier", which of course was Hitler's headquarters which at that time was in Rastenburg in Poland. So the letter was sent to Hans Franks' attention at Hitler's headquarters. This is a very historical important document and extremely collectible. Mint 2,495.00

POT - 118 - 23088 – LEATHER SHEATH FOR PUMA PARTY DAY KNIFE

This leather sheath is about nine inches long. It has a slot made for the insertion of a knife as well as a retaining loop. There is also a section for the belt to feed through for retainage of this item. The obverse of the sheath is deeply stamped with the Puma diamond trademark, having the cat head with firm’s name below it. At the lower left edge of the scabbard there is a metal reinforcing section held by rivets. This metal section is stamped with the patent number, “DRGM NO 1189240”. This scabbard would fit the larger Party Day knives which exist. For instance, there is an example shown in Johnson Volume 4, page 159 which looks like it would exactly fit this scabbard/sheath. A great part here for the right person.
