POLICEMEDALS #38883 Cased 25 Year Police Service Medal with Ribbon
Inside is a fantastic, mint condition gold Police Service medal. It is in the shape of a Maltese cross, and in the center, has a Police emblem. This consists of an open-winged eagle which clutches a wreathed swastika superimposed over an oval wreath of overlapping oak leaves. The edges of the cross are nicely beveled.
On the reverse is the purpose of the medal in German, “For Loyal Service To The Police”.
Included with this medal is the original blue grosgrain ribbon. This ribbon has a gold woven Police Eagle in the center.
This example appears to be unissued and is a most beautiful sight when viewed in the opened box. We don't see many of these medals and I would think this example would be very desirable.
This fine silver Police Service Medal is about the size of a silver dollar. The frosted finish is quite beautiful throughout the coin having only a little bit of age on two spots toward the bottom of the medal. The medal has a raised out police insignia on the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath with an open-winged police eagle clutching a wreath with mobile swastika. On the reverse around the border is the raised out purpose of the medal, “für treue Dienste in der Polizei”. In the center is the numeral “8” raised out. Attached to a loop at the top is a blue ribbed satin ribbon which has the original pin sewn to the reverse upper area. A beauty here!

This medallion style Police Service Medal is about the size of a silver dollar. It is a silver plated piece, and on the obverse, features the police insignia, consisting of a wreath of oak leaves in the background, having an open winged eagle with wreathed swastika superimposed over the oak leaves. The detail is outstanding to these depictions. There is some minor age patina across the surfaces. The reverse of the medallion features the numeral "8" raised out of the center. Along the borders, in raised out letters, is the purpose of the medal, "FUR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI". There is a loop at the top of the medallion, and connected to the loop is a blue, satin ribbon, having ribbed surfaces. A good example here.
This 1st Class Police Long Service Medal with Ribbon is an impressive piece, retaing near-perfect gilding throughout its surfaces with only some honest wear visible. A high level of detail is still evident in the expertly executed National Emblem as well as the finely pebbled backgrounds. The colors of accompanying ribbon have begun to fade, but there are no visible signs of damage or fraying.
