The German Occupation Medals were a series of awards, also known as the "Flower War Medals", created to commemorate the annexation of Austria, Czechoslovakia and the Memelland by Nazi Germany in the interwar period. All three medals were designed by Professor Richard Klein, Director of the Munich School of Applied Arts and a favoured artist of the Nazi establishment.



OCCUPATION #34760C Entry Into Czechoslovakia Medal with Long Ribbon

The Czech Entry Medal of this example is about the size of a fifty-cent piece. It is a bronze strike depicting two naked men crossing a platform each carrying a flag. On the platform raised out is an open-winged political eagle clutching a swastika within a wreath.

On the reverse is the date that the Nazi annexed Czechoslovakia, “1.Oktober 1938”. Around the rim of the medal is the slogan of the Nazi Party, “Ein Volk Ein Reich Ein Führer”. Attached to the loop above is a very long proper ribbon being ribbed satin and having an orange color in the center with stripes of black on each side with small white edges. A fine example here.

OCCUPATION #37403 Entry Into Czechoslovakia Medal with Ribbon

This Czech Entry Medal is a fine bronze strike, being about the size of a half dollar. It depicts two nude figures, banners in hand, and an open winged eagle with a swastika.

On the reverse is the famous NSDAP slogan “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer” and the date of the annexation, “1 Oktober 1938”.

The original ribbon is a grosgrain type with a red center with black and white lines.

This Entry Into Czechoslovakia consists of a medallion type medal being about the size of fifty cent piece. The medal depicts two naked men with flags walking on top of an open-winged eagle with swastika. The details throughout are quite good. The reverse of the medallion has the date the Germans entered Czechoslovakia “1 Oktober 1938". Around the perimeter of the medal is the slogan, “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer”.

The original ribbon is attached. It is fairly long and it features a red stripe in the center with black stripes on both sides. An excellent example.

This Entry into Czechoslovakia medal is a fine early example stuck in bronze. The medal is about the size of a fifty-cent piece. It depicts two naked men with flags. They are standing over an open winged eagle with wreathed swastika. The reverse of the medal has the date of this entry, "1 Oktober 1938". It further has the slogan, "Ein Reich, Ein Führer, Ein Volk". The ribbon is the ribbed satin type having red center with two stripes of black on each side. This piece has a fine, unissued appearance.

This Entry into Czechoslovakia Badge is about the size of a fifty-cent piece. It is an excellent bronze die strike featuring on the obverse two naked men walking up to a platform. The men carry flags in their hands with a swastika on the background of the flag. On the podium is an open-winged political eagle clutching a mobile swastika. The reverse of the medal has the date of the Czechoslovakian annexation, “1 Oktober 1938”. Around the border of the medallion is the political slogan, “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer”.

Attached to the loop above is a satin lined ribbon. The ribbon has a red center with stripes of black on each side. The original connecting pin is still on the reverse.

This Entry Into Czechoslovakia is about the size of a fifty-cent piece. It is a bronze medallion and is an excellent strike. It depicts two naked men carrying standartes and they are approaching a pedestal which depicts an open-winged eagle with swastika. If you look closely the standartes have a swastika on them. The reverse of the medal has the date that the Germans went into Prague, “1 Oktober 1938”. The medal is complete with its original satin ribbed ribbon. This ribbon has a red stripe in the center with stripes of black and white on each side. A very fine example here.

This Entry into Czechoslovakia Medal is about the size of a fifty-cent coin and it is a fine bronze strike. There is a little bit of age on the surfaces but it is not bad. The medallion depicts two naked men with standartes walking up to a platform having an open-winged political eagle with swastika. The reverse of the medal has the date when the Nazis marched into Czechoslovakia, “1 Oktober 1938”. Around the perimeter is the slogan of the Nazi Party, “Ein Volk Ein Reich Ein Führer” and the words are separated by raised swastikas. The ribbon is in the shape of a triangle indication Austrian design. The ribbon is of red and black with white border. There is a quality grommet that holds the ribbon into the triangular shape.

This Czech Entry Medal is about the size of a fifty-cent piece. It has a bronze tone throughout. The medallion obverse depicts two naked men walking on a platform carrying flags. Below is an open-winged eagle with a wreath and swastika. On the reverse is the date the Germans annexed Austria 1 Oktober 1938. Around the circumference is the slogan that was adopted by Hitler on that date, “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer”. The original ribbon is intact on the loop and it is a ribbed satin with deep red stripe in the center and equal stripes of black on either side. The original pin is still on the reverse. A fine looking example.

This is an early strike and depicts a medallion about the size of a fifty cent piece. The medallion portrays two naked men carrying standartes. These men are walking on top of an open-winged eagle with swastika. On the reverse of the medallion is the raised out date of, “1 Oktober 1938”. This, of course, is the date the Nazis marched into Prague. Around the perimeter of the award is the raised out slogan, “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer”. The ribbon has an orange stripe in the center and the two outsides have black stripes. This ribbon is ribbed and in good condition, but no pin on the back.

This Entry to Czech medal is about the size of a 50¢ piece and is finished in gold. It depicts two naked men walking over a podium with an eagle and swastika on the obverse. The men carry flags with swastikas. On the reverse is the famous Hitler slogan of 1938, “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer”. In the center is the date of the Czechoslovakia takeover, “1.Oktober 1938”. Attached to the loop above is the original satin ribbon. This ribbon is ribbed and is red in the center with equal color black stripes on either side. A good conditioned example here.

On the reverse is the date that the entry into Czechoslovakia occurred, "1 Oktober 1938".

The medal is complete with the original ribbon. This ribbon is red in the center with borders on each side of black with a white highlight. A fine looking example here.

The obverse depicts two naked men with German standartes walking over top a podium which displays an open-winged eagle with wreathed swastika. The reverse of the badge has the date of the Czech entry, “1 Oktober 1938”. Around the rim of the medal is the NSDAP slogan, “Ein Volk. Ein Reich. Ein Führer.”.

The original ribbon is affixed to the upper rim. It is an extra long example. It is a satin material having horizontal ribs. The center is red with matching stripes of black on either side and small white border stripes.
