This is the
early, hollow-backed, gray metal badge type. It consists of an
ovaled wreath of triple oak leaves, with an early open winged
Party Eagle at the top, clutching a wreathed mobile swastika,
and looking to the right. In the center is a raised out area,
which commemorates an SA meeting, S-A/Treffen/ Braunschweig/17-18
Oktober/1931. The reverse of the badge has a safety pin
style catch. This is really a tinnie, but was considered
an important badge during the time.

MEDALS9 #28680 RAD Member's Stickpin
This stickpin would have been worn in the member’s lapel while wearing civilian clothes. It features an oval disk which is covered with enamel. The enamel features a red border having border lines of silver. In the center is white enamel with a silver and black RAD shovel positioned over two wheat shafts. The shovel has a silver mobile swastika at the top of it. The reverse of the badge has the RAD triangle as well as the maker’s initials, “P & L”. There was a patent pending on this design as also raised out is, “Ges. Gesch.”.

MEDALS9 #28410 Switzerland National Pin
This pin is in the shape of a field and in enamel it depicts a red background with white Swiss cross in the center. At the top in black enamel and gold letters is the name for Switzerland, “Suisse.” The enamel is in perfect condition. The reverse of the pin has had a stickpin postwar soldered to it, but the shield itself is of the period.

MEDALS9 #28349 Bronze Mother's Cross with Short Ribbon
This bronze Mother’s Cross is in nice condition throughout, having a pleasing bright look to the bronze metal finish consisting of sunbursts sections between each leg of the cross. The cross itself has perfect blue, gold and white enameled surfaces. At the center is a round medallion, having a white enameled field with black enameled, immobile, swastika. Surrounding the depiction is the purpose of the medal, “Der Deutschen Mutter.” The reverse of the medal has the Hitler facsimile signature and the date, “16. Dezember 1938.” There is a short blue, white and blue ribbon attached. A fine looking bronze Mother’s Cross.

MEDALS9 #29202 25-Year Merit Service Cross with Ribbon
This silvered Merit Service Cross is the style with Maltese like legs having pebbled surfaces and a smooth border. There is some mild surface wear to the silvering on this medal. At the center there is an immobile black enamel swastika. There is a wreath of oak leaves which forms in between each of the legs. On the reverse the motif is the same except in the center is the three-lined raised out dedication, “Für / treue / Dienste”. Attached to the loop above is a blue ribbed ribbon which has a pin on the reverse.

MEDALS9 #29201 Silver Mother’s Cross with Ribbon
This silver Mother’s Cross has good blue and white enamel throughout. There is a sunburst between the cross’s legs which has patinated silver finish. There is a silvered circle around the white enamel in the center which features a black immobile enamel swastika. The rim about the swastika has the purpose of the medal in raised capital letters, “Der Deutschen Mütter”. On the reverse is the inception date of, “16 Dezember 1938” and a facsimile of Hitler’s signature. There is a blue and white stripe ribbon through the top slot. The silvered mother crosses are not easy to find. This one is in nice condition and will display well.

MEDALS9 #29138 2nd Class Iron Cross with Ribbon and Original Issue Packet
The issue packet of this Iron Cross is a gray manila paper. It is printed in black on the obverse in three lines in Gothic writing, “Eisernes Kreuz / 2.Klasse / 1939”. On the reverse is the producer’s name printed in a rectangular box, “Klein & Duenzer A.G. / Oberslein”. The packet is still in excellent shape showing a little bit of splitting in the seam at the bottom fold. The Iron Cross is a beauty still displaying fine silvered border with crisp serrated legs and full black center area. The swastika is nicely vaulted in the center and at the bottom leg is the raised out date, “1939”. The reverse is in the same choice condition with a date of inception, “1815” at the lower leg. The ring of this example is marked, “100”. This Iron Cross is accompanied with its original unissued ribbon. The satin ribbon is lined and it is red in the center with lines on the edges of white and black. A fine Iron Cross and packet here.

MEDALS9 #29143 2nd Class Iron Cross with Ribbon
This 2nd class Iron Cross shows a little bit of wear and tear but the edges are still in excellent condition with good serrations. The black area in the center shows some wear to the legs and the paint is missing from the vaulted swastika. There is also about 80% missing from the “1939” date on the lower leg. Overall the blackening on this obverse cross is approximately 90%. On the reverse the same is true of the “1813” date and there is about 95% blackening remaining on this side. Still a good looking cross here, just shows a little bit of normal wear. The ring on this example is not marked. The ribbon shows a little bit of yellowing from age. It is the satin type with ribbed lines and it is red in the center with edges of white and black. If you are looking for a cross that shows some usage this one certainly should fill the bill.

MEDALS9 #29144 2nd Class Iron Cross with Long Ribbon
This Iron Cross shows some overall age and usage. There is a little bit of patination built up around the silvered borders but the serration is still fairly crisp. All of the blackening appears to be in place on the obverse and there is just one small tiny spot where the finish is missing on the reverse. The swastika is nicely vaulted as is the “1939” date at the lower leg. The “1813” date on the reverse is also nicely vaulted. This ring is not marked but has a plus, the ribbon is extra long and is in nice condition. This ribbon is the ribbed satin type having red center with borders of white and black. A good display example here.

This Entry Into Austria medal is about the size of a fifty-cent piece. It has a silvered surface and has patinated quite a bit with black in the backgrounds. The surface portrays two naked men with flags stepping over an open-winged political eagle with wreathed swastika. The reverse has the date of 13 Marz 1938, which is the day the Germans annexed Austria. The original ribbon is attached to the upper ring. The ribbon is a red lined satin color having lines on both edges of white, black and white.

This Entry Into Czechoslovakia medal is about the size of a fifty-cent piece. It is finished in a pleasing bronze color and is still nice and crisp. The medal depicts two naked men carrying flags and walking over the top of an NSDAP open-winged eagle with swastika. On the reverse is the date that the entry into Czechoslovakia occurred, 1 Oktober 1938. The medal is complete with the original ribbon. This ribbon is red in the center with borders on each side of black with a white highlight. A fine looking example here.

MEDALS9 #29125 25-Year Silver Faithful Service Cross with Ribbon
This Faithful Service cross is shaped in the Maltese style, having an oak leaf wreath which penetrates all of the legs. In the center is an immobile black enameled swastika. The Maltese cross has a frosted silvered finish throughout with the borders of the cross being shiny, creating a nice, pleasing contrast. On the reverse, the cross is the same except the center area has the 3 words which is the purpose “für/treue e/Diensts” or translated “For Loyal Service”. Attached at the loop above is a lined blue satin ribbon. The ribbon has a pin on the reverse. A nice example here.

MEDALS9 #29124 Imperial 2nd Class Iron Cross with Ribbon
This Imperial Iron Cross shows some age and patination but overall it is still in good condition. The serrations still appear crisp and all of the blackening is in the legs of the cross. The silver borders have some patination speckles which look as though there might still be some lacquer protecting the bright parts. The cross portrays a “w” in the center with a Prussian crown above it and below the date of “1914”. On the reverse is a Prussian crown with the letters “fw” beneath with oak leaves in the center and the date of inception “1813”. Attached to the hanging ring is the original ribbon. This ribbon is of ribbed satin and it is black in the center with decorative border stripes of white and black. A good original Iron Cross here.

MEDALS9 #29009C Boxed 25-Year Faithful Service Cross
This 25-year Service Cross is in a fine red leatherette box. The box is in perfect condition throughout and on the center lid is embossed a silver circle with serrated border. Inside the circle is the numeral “25”. The box lid has a red velvet covering. There is a silver name identification sticker near the end of it. It is written “R. Souval/wien vn.”. The inside of the box has matching red velvet lining and is separated in the center with a bar having an allowance for the ring to keep the ribbon and medal separated. The medal is a silvered Maltese cross in choice condition having bright borders on the cross’s legs and muted interior. The interior legs are pebbled. In the center, there is a black enamel mobile swastika. There is oak leaf wreath that goes between the legs also having a muted silver look. The reverse of the badge is the same except in the center area, instead of the swastika, there is a 3-line dedication “für/treue/dienste”. Attached to the ring above is the blue ribbed satin ribbon. This ribbon is in perfect condition and has a pin on the reverse. A nice example here.

MEDALS9 #28937C Cased Austrian Military Merit Award
The case of this medal is quite important looking, being square on three sides and rounded on one end. It is in a red leatherette covering with black bottom. There is also double-line decoration which goes around the top border. Embossed in gold into the center of the upper lid is a double headed eagle with a crown above the bird. This is the symbol of the Austrian monarchy. The inside lid is of white satin and is padded. Embossed into the satin material in gilt is the maker name “zimbler wien VII”. Beneath this is the title “K.u.K.hof-lieferant”. This literally means “supplier to the Emperor”. Beneath this is the street address “Burggasse 33”. Apparently, Zimbler of Vienna was well though of. The inside bottom of the case is cut out to accept the award and is in a black velvet material. The award is a beautiful medallion style medal, being about the size of a fifty-cent piece. In the center, there is a raised out bust of the king with beard. Above the medallion is a replica of the Austrian crown and then there is a ring which accepts the triangular shaped red and white striped ribbon. Applied to the ribbon is a set of crossed swords. A most impressive medal here.

This This West Wall medal is of bronze construction, being the normal oval shape having a border of overlapping oak leaves. At the top is an open-winged Party eagle with swastika and below this is a crossed sword and shovel over a corner of the Siegfried line as it was called by the allies. The medal has a little bit of oxidation at the left side of the obverse but it is not bad. The reverse is in perfect condition, showing good bronze color and has the purpose of the medal raised “FÜR/ARBEIT/ZUM/SCHUTZE/DEUTSCH/LANDS”. The loop is in order at the top but there is no ribbon for this medal.

This This Hindenburg cross has a nice bronze color to it and it is in a pristine mint condition. The obverse, of course, is marked with the dates of the Great War, 1914 – 1918. There is a wreath in the center with two swords going through it. This piece is marked on the reverse “HKM”. The original ribbon is attached to the loop. It is red in the center and has stripes of black, white and black which go out on each side.

This This Hanseatic Imperial Cross is quite beautiful, having a Maltese style cross with the legs having bulbous red enamel. The enamel is in perfect condition. In the center, there is a rounded area of different color red enamel and in the center it has the large castle which is the symbol of the city of Hamburg. On the reverse, the cross has silver pebbled legs and in the center it cites the purpose of the award for service in the war 1914.

This WG badge was worn by members of the Third Reich who were civilians and traveled with the railway system, but went out of the country. The badge is a bronze colored pierced circular shape having an eagle’s head looking to the left at the top with the initials, “WG” on either side of the eagle’s breast. At the lower portion of the badge, in between the initials, is a mobile swastika. The reverse of the badge has a horizontal safety pin style catch. The badge has the raised out maker marks of Otto Placzek and also C.E. Juncker, both of Berlin. A great looking badge here that is not seen very often. These were the same civilian that would have worn the white armband which states in German in black letters, “In service of the Wehrmacht”. This badge can be seen in the Angolia Traditions Book, Volume II, on page 158.

This medallion style medal appears to be a silver plate over zinc base. It is about the size of a silver dollar. It features a cross on the obverse with a half open-winged eagle looking to the left and clutching a wreathed swastika. On the reverse, the reason for the medal is in three lines, “Medaille / für deutsche / Volkspflege”. Literally this means, “Medal for German Social Welfare. Attached to the carrying ring is the original ribbon. This ribbon is white in the center and has stripes of red being all the same size. The metal is of satin and has a ribbed construction. Nice looking medal here.

This War Merit Medal is round and is about the size of a fifty cent piece. It is a nice early bronze strike. The obverse portrays a Maltese style cross having pebbled legs and in the center there is a wreath with a raised mobile swastika. On the reverse of the metal is its purpose written in four lines, “für / Kriegs - / verdienst / 1939”. The original ribbon is about two or three times the size it needs to be. It is a fine satin lined type having small orange stripe in the center with stripes of black, white and orange which go outward from the center on each side.

This War Merit Cross is an early strike having a fine bronze look. It is the type without swords and was a civilian award. The cross is the Maltese style having pebbled legs. There is a wreath in the center containing a mobile gilded swastika. On the reverse of the medal the motif is the same except the date, “1939” replaces the swastika. Connected to the ring is a small war merit ribbon which is nicely shaped and has obviously been there for many decades. A fine early strike here.

This 1st Class War Merit Cross with Swords has good silvering throughout the surfaces. There is some patination which covers about 50% of the area but it does not detract from the good looks of the medal. The medal consists of a Maltese style cross having pebbled legs. In the center is a raised wreath with vaulted mobile swastika. There is a pair of swords which seem to pierce the wreath from beneath. The reverse of the medal has a flat coke bottle shaped pin. There is a stamping into the reverse center which is a square having the number, “3” inside. A nice looking original medal here.
