MEDALS #26459-POLITCAL LEADERS COCKADE
This cockade is quite elaborate, being a two-staged affair. The outside border is red lined enamel. Affixed to this a nickel lined disc which has black enamel "floating" swastika in the center. The reverse of this item is RZM marked and has the code"M1/34" A great item if your cap is missing this insignia. This would also make a great display artifact.
MEDALS #28876 BLACK WOUND BADGE
This Although this wound badge looks gold in the picture, I believe that it is an original black badge that perhaps either all of the black paint wore off of or it was buffed off. Either way, I don’t think that it is an original gilded badge. It really is a great looking item, having good bright finish on the obverse and the original patination on the reverse. There is no sign of any black paint, though, anywhere on the badge. The badge is the standard hollow back variety being oval shaped with laurel leaves around the border. In the center area, there is a pebbled background with crossed swords having a helmet with swastika superimposed. The pin is a hinged type with cup catch.
MEDALS #28909C WEST WALL MEDAL
This This West Wall medal is of bronze construction, being the normal oval shape having a border of overlapping oak leaves. At the top is an open-winged Party eagle with swastika and below this is a crossed sword and shovel over a corner of the Siegfried line as it was called by the allies. The medal has a little bit of oxidation at the left side of the obverse but it is not bad. The reverse is in perfect condition, showing good bronze color and has the purpose of the medal raised “FÜR/ARBEIT/ZUM/SCHUTZE/DEUTSCH/LANDS”. The loop is in order at the top but there is no ribbon for this medal.
MEDALS #28915C HINDENBURG CROSS WITH SWORDS AND RIBBON
This This Hindenburg cross has a nice bronze color to it and it is in a pristine mint condition. The obverse, of course, is marked with the dates of the Great War, 1914 – 1918. There is a wreath in the center with two swords going through it. This piece is marked on the reverse “HKM”. The original ribbon is attached to the loop. It is red in the center and has stripes of black, white and black which go out on each side.
MEDALS #28914C HINDENBURG CROSS WITH RIBBON
This This Hindenburg cross is extremely crisp, being a fine brown strike. The cross has a wreath of oak leaves in the center with the dates of the Great War, 1914 – 1918. On the reverse, there is a maker code number “621”. The original ribbon is attached to the upper loop. The ribbon is a satin having a red center stripe with stripes of black, white and black going out on both sides. A very crisp cross here.
MEDALS #28916C IMPERIAL HANSEATIC CROSS
This This Hanseatic Imperial Cross is quite beautiful, having a Maltese style cross with the legs having bulbous red enamel. The enamel is in perfect condition. In the center, there is a rounded area of different color red enamel and in the center it has the large castle which is the symbol of the city of Hamburg. On the reverse, the cross has silver pebbled legs and in the center it cites the purpose of the award for service in the war 1914.
MEDALS #28917C 2ND CLASS WAR MERIT CROSS WITH RIBBON
This This 2nd class war merit cross is a good bronze strike. It features a Maltese shaped cross with pebbling in the legs. In the center, there is a wreath of oak leaves with a raised mobile swastika. The reverse is the same except the date “1939” is in the center. Attached to the loop above is the original lined satin ribbon. This ribbon is black in the center with stripes of white and red on both sides. A good looking medal here.
MEDALS #28918C 2ND CLASS WAR MERIT CROSS WITH SWORDS AND RIBBON
This This 2nd class war merit cross has fine bronze color and is still very crisp. The Maltese style cross has pebbled legs and in the center there is a round circle with raised out mobile swastika. The circle is pierced by two swords. On the reverse, the motif is the same except the date “1939” is in the center. Attached to the ring above is the original lined satin ribbon. This ribbon is black in the center, having lines of white and red on both sides. An outstanding, crisp quality war merit cross here.
MEDALS #28919C WAR MERIT MEDAL WITH RIBBON
This This round medallion features an image of the war merit cross on the obverse. It is a beautiful strike, showing a fine war merit cross with mobile swastika in the center. On the reverse is the purpose of the medal in four lines “Für/Kriegs./verdienst/1939”. Attached to the ring above is the original ribbon. It has a narrow stripe in the center with a black, white and red line on each side. This is a very fine example and a good collectible medal.
MEDALS #28920C HINDERBURG IRON MEDAL WITH UNUSUAL RIBBON
This This Hindenburg medal is cast in iron but still has excellent quality throughout, having a good black surface. The cross features a wreath in the center which contains the years of the Great War, 1914 – 1918. On the reverse of the medal is the company maker “HNC” over the letter “L”. Attached to the loop above is the original ribbon which is different than we normally see. This ribbon has a red stripe in the center with stripes of white, black and white on each side. Perhaps the ribbon would indicate a female recipient or something different from the norm.
MEDALS #28854 IRON CROSS RIBBON WATCH FOB
This This watch fob is made of an iron cross ribbon being the standard satin lined type having red center stripe with stripes of white and black on both sides. At the bottom of the ribbon, there is a fine silver hardware which features a bar having room for engraving with a small chain attached to wings at both ends of the bar and at the lower portion is a silver snap clip which would accept a pocket watch. A nice looking item here. The reverse of the silvered area has a maker marking “AIP”. If you have a nice pocket watch to put with this fob, it would be a nice display with some other Imperial things.
MEDALS #28855 PARADE MEDAL BAR
This parade medal bar is the smaller version which is a set of ribbons with miniature facsimiles of the award. The bar has four different medal ribbons being, the Iron Cross, the War Merit Cross with swords, the Hindenburg medal with swords and the 15 year NSDAP medal. On all of the ribbons there are appropriate miniature medals attached except for the Iron Cross ribbon which is plain. On the reverse of this there is a long pin which would be used to affix the ribbon bar.MEDALS #28872C IMPERIAL 2ND CLASS IRON CROSS WITH RIBBON
This imperial Iron Cross medal is one of the best I have seen condition wise. The black surfaces of the medal are all there and hardly show any age at all. The serrations are still crisp and the border areas still have a fine silver shine to them on both sides. The reverse side depicts a set of oak leaves in the center with a Prussian crown over the initials, “FW”. The date of inception, “1813” is at the bottom of the cross. On the obverse side there is a Prussian crown at the top leg and at the bottom is the date, “1914”. In the center is a capital, “W”. Attached to the ring is the original ribbon. The ribbon is the traditional black center with white and black colors on the edges. The ribbon is in the same condition as the medal. A very fine example here.
MEDALS #28853 SILVER SPANISH WOUND BADGE
This silver Spanish wound badge is the hollow backed pressed out type. It is of lightweight metal. It has excellent detail throughout its oval depiction having a border of triple overlapping laurel leaves. Inside the surfaces have good pebbling. There are two crossed swords and an imperial style German helmet with a vaulted swastika in the center. The reverse of the badge has a barrel hinge with straight pin and standard cup catch. The silvering remains across the front of the badge at approximately 50%. The silver Spanish wound badge was also used after World War II broke out and prior to the time that the World War II wound badges were struck. Still a fairly rare badge here and a good one to add to your collection display. Fine original.
MEDALS #28852 LUFTWAFFE GROUND ASSAULT BADGE
This ground assault badge is of two-piece construction and it is designed in an oval shape having a cut out center. At the upper portion of the oval there is a Luftwaffe bird flying to the viewer’s right while clutching a mobile swastika. Behind the bird is a very dark threatening cloud. Coming out of the cloud is a lightning bolt arrow which strikes down at the ground. The badge appears to have had a silver contrasting coating around the wreath and the eagle while the clouds and arrow were left in a dark shade. About 50% of this silvering still remains. The reverse of the badge reveals the rivet which holds the eagle in place. The pin is a straight example with a barrel hinge and cup hook. A good original badge here showing some usage but still has good details.
MEDALS #28851 2ND CLASS IRON CROSS WITH RIBBON
This 2nd class Iron Cross appears to be in new-like unissued condition. The edge borders of the legs are still mostly bright silver and the serrations are still very crisp. The black sections of the iron part of both sides are still in totally perfect condition. The obverse has a good raised swastika in the center and beneath is the date of its inception, “1939”. The reverse of the cross also has a perfect iron area and has the raised date, “1813” at the bottom leg. Looking at the ring above it is stamped with the maker code, “3”. The original lined satin ribbon accompanies this medal. The ribbon has never been installed though the loop and is still in its folded form. Naturally it is the color with red center having stripes of white and black on each edge. A very fine original Iron Cross here in choice condition.
MEDALS #28850 NSDAP PARTY MEMBER’S BUTTON
This party member’s button is about the size of a quarter and it has the usual enamel colors of red outside border with white round field and black enamel swastika. The enamel throughout the button is all there showing a few scratches on the surfaces but you will need a loop to see these. The reverse of the party button has the raised out marking, “RZM M1/101”. It has a standard safety pin catch and it appears to be copper plated on the reverse. A good example here for display.
MEDALS #28759 WG (WEHRMACHTGEFOLGE) BADGE
This WG badge was worn by members of the Third Reich who were civilians and traveled with the railway system, but went out of the country. The badge is a bronze colored pierced circular shape having an eagle’s head looking to the left at the top with the initials, “WG” on either side of the eagle’s breast. At the lower portion of the badge, in between the initials, is a mobile swastika. The reverse of the badge has a horizontal safety pin style catch. The badge has the raised out maker marks of Otto Placzek and also C.E. Juncker, both of Berlin. A great looking badge here that is not seen very often. These were the same civilian that would have worn the white armband which states in German in black letters, “In service of the Wehrmacht”. This badge can be seen in the Angolia Traditions Book, Volume II, on page 158.

At the lower portion of the badge, in between the initials, is a mobile swastika. The reverse of the badge has a horizontal safety pin style catch. These were the same civilian that would have worn the white armband which states in German in black letters, “In service of the Wehrmacht”. This badge can be seen in the Angolia Traditions Book, Volume II, on page 158.
MEDALS #28761 WG (WEHRMACHTGEFOLGE) BADGE
MEDALS #28762 WG (WEHRMACHTGEFOLGE) BADGE
MEDALS #28763 FEMALE WG (WEHRMACHTGEFOLGE) STICKPIN
Female personnel who traveled with the German railway system out of the country wore the “WG” pin in the form of a stickpin on their lapel. The stickpin was about half the size of the standard lapel pin worn by men. It features the eagle head at the top of an open circle looking to the viewer’s left. On either side of the eagle’s breast are the initials, “WG”. These initials stand for, “Wehrmachtgefolge”. There is a mobile swastika at the bottom. Although the pin is unmarked it is probably made by Otto Placzek and also C.E. Juncker, as they seem to be the exclusive producers of the male format. A difficult pin to find. The same pin can be seen in the Angolia Luftwaffe Traditions Volume II Book on page 158.
MEDALS #28775 SOCIAL WELFARE MEDAL WITH RIBBON
This medallion style medal appears to be a silver plate over zinc base. It is about the size of a silver dollar. It features a cross on the obverse with a half open-winged eagle looking to the left and clutching a wreathed swastika. On the reverse, the reason for the medal is in three lines, “Medaille / für deutsche / Volkspflege”. Literally this means, “Medal for German Social Welfare. Attached to the carrying ring is the original ribbon. This ribbon is white in the center and has stripes of red being all the same size. The metal is of satin and has a ribbed construction. Nice looking medal here.
MEDALS #28776 WAR MERIT MEDAL WITH LONG RIBBON
This War Merit Medal is round and is about the size of a fifty cent piece. It is a nice early bronze strike. The obverse portrays a Maltese style cross having pebbled legs and in the center there is a wreath with a raised mobile swastika. On the reverse of the metal is its purpose written in four lines, “für / Kriegs - / verdienst / 1939”. The original ribbon is about two or three times the size it needs to be. It is a fine satin lined type having small orange stripe in the center with stripes of black, white and orange which go outward from the center on each side.
MEDALS #28774 RUSSIAN FRONT MEDAL WITH RIBBON
This Russian Front Medal is about the size of a fifty-cent piece. On the obverse it depicts a Wehrmacht style half open-winged eagle clutching an immobile swastika. On the top of the medallion is a helmet positioned over a stick grenade. On the reverse of the medal it cites the purpose being the winter spent in Moscow from 1941 through 1942. There is also a raised out sword over some laurel leaves at the bottom of the medal. The medal is finished in a gray color having silver highlights. Connected to the ring at the top is the original ribbon being a lined satin type having a black and white stripe in the center with red outsides. There is also a catch with pin that has been applied to this ribbon for the purpose of wearing it on a uniform.
MEDALS #28777 1936 OLYMPIC COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL WITH RIBBON
This impressive medallion is about the size of a silver dollar. It is all silver plated and has a nice patination across its surfaces. The upper portion of the medal features the five interconnected rings of the Olympics. Below this is an open-winged political eagle looking to the viewer’s left and clutching a wreath with mobile swastika. The bird faces to the viewer’s left and has outstanding detail to the head, breast feathering, wing feathering, wreath and mobile swastika. On either side of the wreath is the date, “1936”. On the reverse of the medal the purpose is spelled out, “that it is for people who participated or worked for the Olympic games in 1936”. The ribbon is an attractive example being an orange red ribbed color having five silver lines in the center which no doubt represent the Olympic rings. The edges are black. A very beautiful medal here.
MEDALS #28772 WAR MERIT CROSS WITH RIBBON
This War Merit Cross is an early strike having a fine bronze look. It is the type without swords and was a civilian award. The cross is the Maltese style having pebbled legs. There is a wreath in the center containing a mobile gilded swastika. On the reverse of the medal the motif is the same except the date, “1939” replaces the swastika. Connected to the ring is a small war merit ribbon which is nicely shaped and has obviously been there for many decades. A fine early strike here.
MEDALS #28766 LUFTWAFFE 2ND CLASS DRIVER’S BADGE
This Driver’s Badge is a rounded motif having a raised border of laurel leaves. The detail is nice to the leaves showing veins in the center. In the center of the circle is a steering wheel. It is nicely detailed and has good pebbled background. This medal is applied to a Luftwaffe gray backing. At the reverse the backing is covered with a tan protective paper. There is only mild age on the surface of this medal.
MEDALS #28767 LUFTWAFFE 1ST CLASS DRIVER’S BADGE
This Driver’s Badge is a rounded motif having raised laurel leaves which go around the perimeter. The leaves have fine detail to their veining. In the center there is a raised out steering wheel with a background of pebbling. The medal device is positioned on a gray wool background. Covering the reverse is a tan parchment like paper. This is a fine 1st class driver’s badge here showing little to no age.
MEDALS #28583 1ST CLASS WAR MERIT CROSS WITH SWORDS
This 1st Class War Merit Cross with Swords has good silvering throughout the surfaces. There is some patination which covers about 50% of the area but it does not detract from the good looks of the medal. The medal consists of a Maltese style cross having pebbled legs. In the center is a raised wreath with vaulted mobile swastika. There is a pair of swords which seem to pierce the wreath from beneath. The reverse of the medal has a flat coke bottle shaped pin. There is a stamping into the reverse center which is a square having the number, “3” inside. A nice looking original medal here.
MEDALS #28561 2ND CLASS WAR MERIT CROSS WITH SWORDS AND RIBBON
This 2nd Class War Merit Cross is one of the early bronze strikes. It has a beautiful finish throughout and is nice and crisp. The cross is a Maltese style having pebbled legs. A pair of swords pierce the center area and superimposed is a wreath with a mobile swastika in the center. The reverse of the award is the same except the swastika is replaced by the date of inception, “1939”. Through the ring at the top is a fine war merit cross ribbon. This ribbon is the lined satin variety having a black stripe in the center with lines of white and red going outward on each side. A very fine early strike here.
MEDALS #28582 BLACK WOUND BADGE
This black Wound Badge is a hollow backed strike which is made of a brass base. The black paint is perfect on the back and on the obverse there is some thinning on the high spots around the wreath and also around the center swastika. This badge is oval shaped depicting a helmet super-imposed over crossed swords. There is a border of raised overlapping laurel leaves with a bow at the bottom.
MEDALS #28568 WAFFEN SS / ARMY INFANTRY ASSAULT BADGE
This Infantry Assault Badge is a good quality, early example. It has a fine silvered finish with nice appealing patination throughout. The badge depicts an oval wreath of overlapping oak leaves and at the top is a half closed-winged Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika. The details to this bird are extraordinary. Over the 45 degree diagonal of the oval is a K-98 rifle complete with mounted bayonet and strap. The details to the bayonet are also outstanding. A very fine medal here of a quality not normally seen. The reverse of the badge has the maker marking raised out, “C” over, “W”. The pin is a straight type with barrel hinge and it looks like the cup catch has been period repaired. The repair though looks to have been well done and is not really that much of a detraction. A very fine badge here. You will look a long time to find a maker marked infantry assault badge.
MEDALS #28569 WAFFEN SS / ARMY CLOSE COMBAT BADGE
This Close Combat Badge is a high-quality example having good silvered finish. Although it is a zinc base 95% of the silvering is still in place on the obverse of this badge and nearly all of it on the reverse. The details are quite good throughout. The badge is an oval design having oak leaves raised out around the borders. In the center is perched a closed-winged Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika. This bird is positioned over a crossed bayonet and stick grenade. The areas around this depiction are open. On the reverse the pin is a straight style with barrel hinge and cup hook. There is a slight vaulting to this medal also. A nice example.
MEDALS #28680 RAD MEMBER’S STICKPIN
This stickpin would have been worn in the member’s lapel while wearing civilian clothes. It features an oval disk which is covered with enamel. The enamel features a red border having border lines of silver. In the center is white enamel with a silver and black RAD shovel positioned over two wheat shafts. The shovel has a silver mobile swastika at the top of it. The reverse of the badge has the RAD triangle as well as the maker’s initials, “P & L”. There was a patent pending on this design as also raised out is, “Ges. Gesch.”.
MEDALS #24152 MARKED 2ND CLASS IRON CROSS
This mint condition
2nd class medal still bares sharp serrations around the cross and all the black within. All markings are still bold;
swastika and 1939 on front with 1813 on the reverse. The support ring is marked'55'. The medal has a desirable
extra long ribbon which shows a little age where the ribbon lays upon itself. Good medal overall.
MEDALS #28357 MINIATURE MERIT CROSS WITH SWORDS
This miniature Merit Cross with Swords was to be worn on a civilian coat, as it has a button in the back that would have been used on a lapel. The miniature Merit Cross is all silvered with a black swastika in the center. There are swords behind the award. The award is mounted on the proper ribbon, having black center with orange and white stripes going outward on both sides. The backing is a blue lined satin and the button portion is covered in a black fabric material. A nice looking item here, the first of which I have seen.
MEDALS #28410 SWITZERLAND NATIONAL PIN
This pin is in the shape of a field and in enamel it depicts a red background with white Swiss cross in the center. At the top in black enamel and gold letters is the name for Switzerland, “Suisse.” The enamel is in perfect condition. The reverse of the pin has had a stickpin postwar soldered to it, but the shield itself is of the period.
MEDALS #28411 SA RESERVE PIN WITH WINGS AND SWASTIKA
This SA Reserve Pin features a shield shape device in the center, having black enamel filed with a white mobile enamel swastika in the center. The shield has a bottom area in silver and to both sides of the shield are attached a set of wings. This is a nice looking lapel pin. The reverse of the wings is raised out with the patent pending marks, “Ges. Gesch.” There is also the letter, “S,” with sunrays around it at the bottom of the reverse of the pin. The pin itself is a stickpin that has the serrations along its edges. A fine original item.
MEDALS #28359 IMPERIAL WILHELM MEDAL WITH BOW
I am not really familiar with this Wilhelm medal, but it is in a nickel finish and has a Maltese-style cross with sunburst between the legs. The round center area has a depiction of Kaiser Wilhelm the first, and has his name and title around it. The reverse of the medal has more engraving and the date, “1885.” Attached to the top of the medal is a white, red and black ribbon, which is tied in a bow. On the reverse of this is a safety-pin style catch. As I said above, I do not know the purpose of this medal.
MEDALS #28362 GERMAN RED CROSS HONOR BADGE WITH NECK RIBBON
This award is extremely impressive. The cross is a very large size, measuring approximately two inches either way. The cross consists of white enamel, having a gilded border. In the center is an applied, black enamel eagle with a white shield at its breast, having a red colored cross within. The closed-wing eagle grasps a gold oak leaf wreath in its talons and the open wreath has a mobile swastika in the center. There is a ring above the cross to which is attached a carrying ring. This ring has the original wide ribbon attached to it. This ribbon is about two and one-half inches in width. It has a large red lined portion in the center and white edges decorate its length. A most impressive medal here, which on the reverse, is marked with the maker name and location, “CHR. BAUER/WELZHEIM.”
MEDALS #28349 BRONZE MOTHERS CROSS WITH SHORT RIBBON
This bronze Mother’s Cross is in nice condition throughout, having a pleasing bright look to the bronze metal finish consisting of sunbursts sections between each leg of the cross. The cross itself has perfect blue, gold and white enameled surfaces. At the center is a round medallion, having a white enameled field with black enameled, immobile, swastika. Surrounding the depiction is the purpose of the medal, “Der Deutschen Mutter.” The reverse of the medal has the Hitler facsimile signature and the date, “16. Dezember 1938.” There is a short blue, white and blue ribbon attached. A fine looking bronze Mother’s Cross.
MEDALS #28354 2ND CLASS MERIT CROSS WITH SWORDS AND RIBBON
This 2nd Class Merit Cross is one of the early bronze strikes. It has beautiful detail throughout and still has its fine, rich color to the medal. The medal depicts a Maltese-style cross, having a pair of swords running through the center area. Superimposed over the middle is a round wreath of oak leaves, having a raised-out mobile swastika in the center. The depiction on the reverse is the same except the date, “1939,” replaces the swastika. Attached to the ring above is an original satin-lined ribbon. The ribbon is black in the center with lines of white and red going out on either side. An outstanding example.
MEDALS #28351 NSDAP TEN YEAR SERVICE MEDAL
This ten year long Service Medal has most of the original bronze coating still clinging to the white metal base. I would say it is somewhere between 70%-80%. The medal itself is a Maltese-style cross, having sunbursts between the legs along with a set of crossed swords. Superimposed over the center area is a round wreath of oak leaves with an open-winged, Political eagle. The eagle looks to the wearer’s right and clutches a wreathed, mobile swastika. The detail is quite good throughout this medal. The reverse is the same except that the swastika is replaced within the wreath with the purpose of the medal, “Treue, Führer und Volk.” This award is complete with the carrying ring but there is no ribbon attached. It is rare to see any plating on these awards, let alone the amount still existing on this medal.
MEDALS #28404 SA BRESLAU BADGE
This Breslau Badge may be a tinnie but if it is, it is extremely well done. This badge is a fairly good size, measuring about two inches by one and three-quarter inches and being in the shape of a shield. It is pressed out of metal having a hollow back. The shield has borders of overlapping oak leaves and at the top, there is an open-winged, Political style eagle, which looks to the viewer’s right and grasps a wreath in its talons with a mobile swastika. The details throughout the bird are excellent. Flanking the bird is the date, “1933.” Below this is the city of “Breslau” and below this is an SA round runic the same as we would see in an SA dagger grip. There are no markings on the back of the badge and it has a safety-pin style catch. Obviously there must have been some type of an SA event in Breslau in 1933 for which this award or badge is a keepsake.
MEDALS #28373C IMPERIAL 2ND CLASS IRON CROSS WITH RIBBON
This Imperial 2nd Class Iron Cross has a fine patination throughout. The insert areas have all of their black covering. The obverse portrays a Prussian Helmet at the top, the letter “W” in the center and the date, “1914,” at the bottom. On the reverse is a Prussian Crown over “FW” with oak leaves in the center and the date, “1813,” at the bottom. The serrations are still quite crisp throughout this Iron Cross and other than the patination, it looks to be in very fine condition. The original ribbon is attached to the carrying ring. The ribbon is a ribbed satin type, being black in the center with stripes of white and black running outward on both sides.
MEDALS #28352 HITLER YOUTH MEMBERS PIN
This Hitler Youth Member’s Pin has perfect enamel consisting of red, white, silver and a black swastika in the center. The reverse of the pin has a safety-pin type catch running lengthwise. The reverse of the pin has raised-out markings, “RZM M1/147.”
MEDALS #28353 HITLER YOUTH MEMBERS PIN
This Hitler Youth Member’s Pin has perfect enamel. It has a pleasing red, white, silver and black swastika scheme. On the reverse there is a safety-pin style catch. The reverse of the pin is marked, “RZM M/148.”
MEDALS #28409 CZECH HITLER YOUTH PIN
This Czech Hitler Youth Pin is in the shape of a shield and it has fine enamel work with its red, white silver and black mobile swastika. The reverse of the pin shows a stickpin soldered to the back, most-likely postwar. The insignia itself, though, is definitely original.
Excellent. $35.00
MEDALS #28408 NSDAP MEMBERSHIP BUTTON
This NSDAP button has all enamel construction showing some usage over the enamel but no real breaks in the surfaces. It has the colors of red, white and black swastika. Around the red border of the button is the full name of the organization, “National Sozialistische D.A.P.” On the reverse, the button has the raised-out, “RZM M 1/100.” The safety-pin catch is missing from the reverse and someone has added a stickpin.MEDALS #27994 SCREWBACK 1ST CLASS IRON CROSS
This Iron Cross is in choice condition, having fine silvering to the outer legs and good, crisp serrations. The coloring on the surfaces is all there, beginning to thin a little bit on the vaulted swastika legs, but no metal is showing. The reverse has the post with threads and the screw on device that holds it in place on the uniform. The screw device is hallmarked on the reverse, “L/17.” This is a very fine 1st Class Iron Cross in and of itself, and the crewback option serves only to make it even more desireable. A very interesting medal here.
MEDALS #28101 DAF STICK PIN
This stickpin has a serrated leg to the pin. The device itself is the logo of the DAF Labor Organization. It is all in aluminum and features a gear wheel, having a “floating” mobile swastika inside. The swastika has excellent detail with pebbling throughout its surfaces. On the reverse of the stickpin, there is a raised out marking, “RZM M/47.” A good-looking stickpin here!
MEDALS #27133C GOLDEN GERMAN CROSS WITH 6 RIVET CONSTRUCTION
German Crosses
with 6-rivet construction are very early, and are quite rare to
find. This example was definitely worn quite a bit by its original
recipient, but it still is in good collectable condition. The
raised out swastika has perfect enamel throughout. The background
has some slight patina to the silvering, but I dont see
any areas where it is rubbed off. The wreath around the swastika
has a fine red circle at the beginning, and the laurel leaves
still have fairly good detail, but do show some mild surface wear.
The starburst looks good, with good blackening in the backgrounds.
The high upper portions of the starburst do show the brass metal
below. The back of the medal easily reveals the 6-rivet construction.
Each of the rivets has a fine dainty rounded head. The pin is
a tapered style, with a barrel hinge, and a standard cup hook.
This is a fine addition for a medals collection, as this original
is a rarely seen variation of the Gold German Cross.
MEDALS #27134C GOLDEN GERMAN CROSS
This Gold German
Cross is a fine example showing some nominal age, but it still
has choice condition throughout. The black enamel swastika is
in perfect condition, and has a good sheen to all of its legs.
The silver background field has some mired patination which is
spaced across its surfaces, but I see no breaks in its condition.
There is a fine red circular line just in front of the golden
raised out lined wreath of laurel leaves. The gilding still appears
to be mostly all there to this wreath. The sunburst in the back
has outstanding blackening intact throughout, and the edges have
a fine silvering. A good looking German Cross here. The reverse
has four donut style rivets, and the pin is on a barrel hinge,
being the tapered type with cup hook. There is a small rectangular
box stamped into the center of the medal reverse, in which the
maker number 134 appears. These numbers are raised
out of the backgrounds. A fine collectable original example here.
MEDALS #27483 HJ ACHIEVEMENT AWARD BLACK CLOTH VERSION
This black
cloth version of the H.J. Achievement Badge measures approximately
4 ½ inches by 3 inches. In the center area of the black

by round circular writing, with a mobile swastika in the center.
The writing is Leistungen in der H.J. The silver highlights
in the badge are all done with bevo type weave. A fine looking
item here for display. This cloth badge appears unissued.

has an open winged, Police eagle grasping a wreathed swastika
superimposed. The swastika is shiny contrasting with the muted
eagle. The reverse of this silver cross has an ovaled disk in
the center with the purpose of the award in German, "For

This
gilded Maltese shaped Police cross is a beauty having pebbled
finished legs with shiny borders which contrast with the muted
gold finish. Raised out of the center area, is an ovaled wreath
of overlapping oak leaves with an open winged eagle clutching
a wreathed swastika. The swastika is shiny, contrasting with the
muted background of the rest of the metal. The reverse of this
metal has the purpose in German raised out, "For true service
in the Police". This award is attached to a parade mount
ribbon which has a metal backing with pin. To the right of the
ribbon, there was apparently another medal at one time. The blue
ribbed ribbon, though, remains. The area above this medal in the
ribbon has a gold woven Police eagle. A striking award here.

MEDALS #25374 LARGE NSDAP GOLDEN PARTY BADGE
This Large
Golden Party Badge is the 30.5 mm size. It has an enameled center
which features a mobile black swastika on a white field. The swastika
is bordered with silver lines. The ring around the swastika is
red enamel, having the slogan Nationalsozialistische D.A.P..
As is the case with proper large Golden Party Badges, the o
letter in the soz word is rounded. The red ring is
also bordered in silver and the ending ring is white enamel. Enclosing
the badge is a golden wreath of oak leaves. These oak leaves are
the proper type, having edges which form the outer ring of the
Party Badge, not a rim. On the reverse, the pin is a standard
safety type and it is marked with a producer Dreschler &
Sohn/München 9. Beneath this, is the five digit party
number of the original recipient. At the top is stamped, Ges.
Gesch.. This Party Badge shows a little normal wear, but
all details are complete and it is in excellent condition. A very
desirable original. It comes with a written authenticity guarantee
from medals expert, Jamie Cross.
ITEM UPDATE - This Golden Party Badge, #29335, has been professionally researched. The original recipient was Mr. Heinrich Sesselmann, a NSDAP party member. Little information could be discovered regarding this mysterious person, so there is an opportunity for even more historical "treasure hunting." A (very) brief dossier, including scans of the NSDAP Membership card which names him as a recipient of this award, is included in the purchase price.

MEDALS #26919 3RD CLASS BRONZE BOMBER CLASP IN 2ND CLASS SILVER CASE
This Bronze
Bomber Clasp is a fine item which is in the pot metal base, but
still has most of the original bronze finish. The finish throughout
looks to be about 80% - 85%. The medal depicts a round open circle
in the center, which has overlapping laurel leaves. There is an
immobile raised out swastika at the bottom of the circle. Superimposed
over the center is a dropping bomb pointing downward, which has
wings on its side edges as well as its tail. Running outward from
the circle are three sets of overlapping oak leaves and acorns
that go out in both directions. The reverse of the clasp has a
large coke bottle style pin running horizontally. It is connected
to a rounded style hinge and a substantial cup hook. The reverse
reveals that the bomb is rivet-held and, on one of the extended
arms, the maker mark is raised out s&s. This original
clasp comes in a Bomber case which is meant for the Silver award.
The case also has had the clasp improperly installed, as the pin
itself has been pinned through the lower section of the case rather
than sitting properly in the slot. The case is a brown leatherette
which is still in good shape. The purpose of the award is embossed
in gilt on the lid. It is embossed Frontflugspange/für
Kampfflieger/silber. The inner lid is a lined satin which
is padded. The silhouette of the award has been pressed into the
satin from long storage. The inner section of the case has an
off-white velvet-like top with sort of a gauged out appearance
where the award sits which, no doubt, was done by the original
returning Veteran. A fine original Bombers clasp here.

MEDALS #26920 1ST CLASS GOLD BOMBER CLASP IN SILVER 2ND CLASS CASE
This Bomber
Clasp is in brand new condition. It is extremely beautiful, reflecting
100% of its original gilded finish. The base metal appears to
be a high quality brass. The medal depicts an open circle in the
center formed of overlapping laurel leaves. At the bottom of the
circle is a raised out immobile swastika. Superimposed in the
open center is a black colored bomb which is equipped with wings
at both sides, as well as on the tail. The bomb is pointing downward
toward the swastika. Running outward on both diameters of the
circle are three sets of overlapping oak leaves with acorns. The
detail throughout these oak leaves is fantastic, with each and
every vein showing clearly. A very beautiful medal here! The reverse
is in the same choice gilded condition. The medal itself on the
reverse is a muted gold color, while the long coke bottle shaped
pin is a brighter gilt finish. The medal is marked on the reverse
G.H.Osang/Dresden. This medal is identical to the
example shown in the Niemann book on Page 688. The medal comes
in an original case which appears to be the case used for the
Silver award. The case is of blue leatherette and is still in
good condition. The obverse is embossed with gold letters which
show some wear and are a bit difficult to read, but they say Frontflugspange/führer
Kampfflieger/silber. The hinge of this example is a barrel
type with a fine cup hook, the same as the book. The bomb is a
two-piece construction, as there is a rivet head shown on the
reverse. The inside lid of the case is a white satin material
and the silhouette of the medal has been impressed into the surface
from years of storage. The inner case has an off-white color velvet
material. There is a slot in the material where the award rests.

you are likely to ever find.

packet is Kriegs/Verdienstmedaille/ 1939. Fine unissued
item.
MEDALS #19879- RUSSIAN WINTER MEDAL W/RIBBON
This medal
has a fine patina over the surfaces. The center medallion area
is a darker gray, while the edges are a more golden color. There
is a helmet over a hand grenade. Inside, there is a raised-out,
Wehrmacht eagle which clutches a swastika. Beautiful detail throughout.
The reverse is raised-out, "Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42".
The original red ribbon with black and white lines is attached
to the ring. Fine example.
MEDALS #18281 BLACK WOUND BADGE
Fine early
brass example, being the hollow-backed variety. The details throughout
are great, the black being about 98% over the brass base. The
depiction features a swastika superimposed over a helmet. The
helmet is placed over two swords. The border is surrounded with
laurel leaves. The pin is a thin type.
MEDALS #18636 GAU KOBLENZ ALUMINUM TINNIE BADGE
This tinnie
is the size of a normal badge. It is produced of aluminum, having
an open-winged eagle at the top, clutching an immobile swastika.
Below, the oval badge is decorated with a series of raised lines
which follow the shape of the badge. At the center, which is plain,
there is the raised lettering, Gau/ Thing/ Koblenz/ Trier.
Beneath this is the date of the event, 22-23/ Juni/ 1935.
There is a horizontal pin on the reverse and a raised maker mark,
Entw. R. Kaster/ Robinson. This badge shows quite a bit
of usage.
MEDALS #19549 IMPERIAL RIBBON BAR COMPLETE WITH TWO MEDALS
This ribbon
bar contains the ribbons and medals for the Imperial Iron cross
and the Hindenburg WWI participation medal. The grouping shows
a little overall age, but is still in good condition ready to
pin on to the loops of your uniform. The reverse has a field green
wool backing, remaining in good condition.
MEDALS #20625 FULL SIZE AND MINIATURE HITLER YOUTH LEADER GOLD SPORTS BADGES
These Gold
Sports Badges are extremely intriguing. They consist of stacked
sections which begin with a large round disc having raised oak
leaves around the perimeter. The next stage is an arrow which
points downward and runs through the entire circle extending past
the lower edge. The next stage is a round circle in which are
raised Sütterlin letters. The lettering is, "Für
Leistungen in der LH". The center of the area carrying the
lettering is open and superimposed on the center of the arrow
below, is a gild swastika. This medal is very effective looking
and the Sütterlin script is challenging figuring out what
the letters say. The reverse of the medal is also gilded and it
has a large letter "B" in the center edge area. Below
this is a raised out double RZM circle followed by the code, "M7
/ 101". Accompanying the medal is a small miniature, which
is about a quarter of the size. The miniature would have been
worn on the lapel of a suit, where as the large size medal, would
have been worn with the Hitler Youth Leader's uniform. The miniature
is identical to the large medal in all ways, and in this case, it
also has the identical RZM markings. Other than the fact that
the pin catch is missing from the reverse of the miniature, both
of these pieces are in perfect condition. A great set to show
with other Hitler Youth items. These medals, particularly the miniature,
are quite rare.
MEDALS #20697 SA SILVER SPORTS BADGE
This badge
has a majority of the silver plating remaining, rating at approximately 95%.
The medal base is composed of steel. It features a Roman style
sword superimposed over a mobile swastika. The swastika is positioned
within an ovaled wreath with open areas. The reverse of the badge
has a good sturdy pin and there is the raised out printing of
the manufacturer. These silver sports awards are not common.
MEDALS -088- #24006 POLICE 25 YEAR LONG SERVICE CROSS & RIBBON
This
Police Cross is a beautiful gilded Maltese example having a Police
insignia superimposed in the center. It consists of a wreath having
an open winged eagle which grasps a swastika within a wreath.
The reverse of the gold cross has an oval disc which has the purpose
of the medal, "Für / Treue / Dienste / In der / Polizei".
The medal is completely crisp and new-like, and is mounted on
a blue ribbed ribbon. This ribbon at the upper portion has a woven
Police eagle in a yellow thread. The eagle grasps a swastika and
is extremely well done. This ribbon is applied to a medal parade
style backing. Beautiful example.
MEDALS -089- #24007 CUSTOMS LONG SERVICE CROSS WITH RIBBON
This
outstanding Customs Cross is of a bronze material and highly detailed.
It is of a Maltese shape and superimposed in the center is a rounded
wreath of leaves which have a superimposed open winged eagle which
clutches a swastika. The details to the eagle are outstanding.
The reverse of the cross has a round wreath, and in the center,
is the purpose of the medal, "Für / Treue Dienste /
in / Zollgrenz / Schutz". Attached to a carrying ring at
the top is a blue ribbed ribbon. A very fine conditioned piece.
MEDALS #27268 BLACK WOUND BADGE
This Black
Wound Badge is the hollowed-back type. It has an outstanding black
surface throughout, which appears to be at least 99%. The badge
is an oval shape, with laurel wreath border. In the center are
two crossed swords, with a superimposed helmet and swastika. Nice
looking badge here.
MEDALS #27274 RUSSIAN WINTER MEDAL & RIBBON
This Russian
Winter Medal is the zinc gray color, being a round medallion about
the size of 50¢ piece. The medallion portrays a half-open
winged eagle, resting on an immobile swastika. Above the bird
is a helmet positioned over a stick grenade. On the reverse, in
German, is the purpose of the medal, Winterschlacht/in osten/1931/42.
To the ring on the top, is attached the red satin lined ribbon.
This ribbon has a stripe in the center with black, and two small
white stripes running upward.
MEDALS #27278 ENTRY TO CZECHOSLOVAKIA MEDAL & RIBBON
This Entry
to Czechoslovakia Medal is about the size of a 50¢ piece.
It is a fine bronze color, and on the obverse depicts to naked
men carrying standartes. The men are positioned over an open winged
eagle, with wreathed swastika. On the reverse, around the border
of the medallion, is the slogan of the NSDAP, Ein Volk,
Ein Reich, Ein Führer, and in the center is the date
the Germans entered the Czech Republic, 1 Oktober
1938. Attached to the loop above, is the proper ribbon being
red in the center, and having black outer lines.
MEDALS #27271 WAFFEN SS / ARMY ASSAULT BADGES
This Army Assault
Badge is a fine example, having good crisp details, and much of
the silvered look still there. The badge is an oval shape, having
an oak leaf border with acorns. At the top of the oval is a closed
winged Wehrmacht eagle, clutching a mobile swastika. Scattered
across the oval badge is a K-98 rifle, with strap and bayonet
affixed. Outstanding badge here. On the reverse is the raised
out maker marking, S.H.u C. 1941. The pin has a barrel
hinge and a cup hook. The cup hook is bent over, and rather than
straighten it, I think it is best to be left as is, as the cup
could break off. A very nice medal here.
MEDALS $24293 DRL SILVER BADGE
This DRL badge
has excellent silvering throughout its surfaces which are plated
over a bronze base. There is some wear to the silvering on the
higher edges, but it is still at about 98%. The oval badge depicts
a wreath of overlapping oak leaves with a swastika at the bottom.
The letters, "DRL" are cipher like, appearing to float
in the center. The reverse of this badge is DRGM marked and has
the maker marking, "Wernsteinjena". The pin is a narrow
flat style.(#121608)
MEDALS #24290 SA SILVER SPORTS BADGE
The Silvered
SA Sports Badge is more difficult to obtain than the bronze.
This example features a round wreath of overlapping oak leaves.
In the center is a mobile swastika with a superimposed Roman-like
sword over the swastika. The silvering is nearly 100% having
some age darkening in the lower areas. The reverse of this medal
is stamped with maker markings, "W. Redo" and "Eigentum
D. Obers / S.A. Fuhrung", "Saar". This is a fine
badge.
MEDALS #26578C CASED 18-YEAR SILVER POLICE AWARD
The case of
this example is of green leatherette. The side portion of the
case is broken and has been repaired. The rest of the case is
still in good condition. The top surface has the silver embossing
of the award. It is a wreath which encloses the number 18".
The inside of the case base is a tan color velvet with a center
separating portion having a notch for the placement of the medals
ring. The medal itself is a beautiful silvered cross which has
pebbling in its legs. In the center is a Police insignia raised
out. This insignia consists of a wreath having an open-wing Police
eagle superimposed over it clutching a wreathed swastika. The
reverse of the cross has in five lines the purpose of the award
for loyal service in the police. The award is accompanied by the
original ribbon which has not been threaded through the loop.
This ribbon is a blue ribbed style and it has a white stitched
police eagle sewn to the surfaces. A very beautiful thing here,
in top notch condition.
MEDALS #26591C LONG RANGE BOMBER CLASP
This Bomber
Clasp has wings that are formed of oak leaves going out from a
center circle which is formed of laurel leaves. There is a swastika
at the bottom of the circle. Placed in the center in the open
pierced area is a bomb which has wings on its sides and also two
wings on its tail. The detail is quite beautiful throughout this
clasp. The reverse is marked G.H. Osang/Dresden. The
pin on the back is a coke bottle shape that has a line running
through the center. The pin is hinged on a barrel style device
with a cup hook at the end. There is a dome head style rivet which
retains the bomb device. A beautiful example here.
MEDALS #26589C GOLD DAY FIGHTER CLASP
This Day Fighter
clasp appears to have been made of zinc base. The circular center
has a ring of overlapping laurel leaves. There is a swastika in
immobile position at the bottom. Running outward are triple sets
of oak leaves in a ring-like manner. In the center is an arrow
which is winged, pointing upward. This appears to have been made
of silver. There are traces of original gilt throughout the recesses
of this example on the obverse. On the reverse, there is more
gilt and the pin is still all gilded. Because of the inferior
base metal, most of this gilding came off. There is a rivet in
the back which retains the arrow insignia. The pin is a horizontal
coke bottle type which has a lined center. Stamped on the reverse
is a large "A".
MEDALS #26592C HEAVY DIVE BOMBER CLASP IN GOLD
This Heavy
Dive Bomber clasp is a good looking medal. It is of quality construction.
It features a circular motif in the center made of overlapping
laurel leaves. At the bottom is in immobile swastika. Wing-like
arms go outward on both sides and they are made of triple overlapping
oak leaves. In the center open area, there is a bomb in silver
which has wings on both sides and also wings on the back pin.
The reverse of the medal is not marked. All of the gilding remains
on the reverse and there is a rivet which retains the bomb part.
The hinge is the barrel type and the pin is a horizontally mounted
coke bottle shape with cup hook. A fine looking original example.
MEDALS #26594C BOMBER FLIGHT CLASP IN BRONZE
This Bomber
Flight clasp is produced in a zinc base and most of the bronze
finish has gone to time. It consists of an open circle in the
center which is decorated with overlapping laurel leaves with
an immobile swastika at the bottom. Outward going from the circle
in a wing-like fashion are triple sets of overlapping oak leaves.
In the center is a silvered bomb which is pointing downward, having
wings on the bombs edges and the bombs rudder. The
reverse of the badge has a rivet holding this bomb device. The
reverse is marked C.H. Osang/Dresden. There is a barrel
style hinge with coke bottle shape pin with center ridge line
and cup hook. Good details to this badge, despite the fact the
finish is gone.
MEDALS #21859 / #21860 WAR MERIT MEDAL WITH RIBBON AND ISSUE PACKET
These medals
consist of a round medallion form about the size of a fifty-cent
piece. The round medallion has a stamping of the War Merit Cross
without Swords on the obverse. This cross features a wreathed
swastika in the center. The reverse has the slogan raised out,
"Für / Kriegs - / Verdienst / 1939". The medal
is accompanied by a ribbon which has a black center with red line
running through it. Extending outward are lines of white and red
on both sides. The medal comes with its original paper packet
which has printed German language details of its contents on the
outside.
MEDALS #26265 ARMY DRIVERS BADGE IN GOLD
This Army Drivers
Badge features a raised out steering wheel on a pebbled background.
Around the background is a wreath of laurel leaves. This depiction
is mounted to an army field gray wool background. At the reverse
there is a paper style backing. A fine original badge here.
MEDALS #27215 IMPERIAL IRON CROSS PARADE MOUNT RIBBON
This Iron Cross
is the standard Imperial type, having good patination throughout.
The serrated edges are still mostly crisp, and the black surface
within is about 95%. At the top leg is a Prussian Crown raised
out, and in the center is the raised out W. At the
bottom is 1914, and on the reverse bottom right, is
the date of the Iron Cross inception, 1813.
This Cross is mounted on a metal parade mount, covered by a Iron
Cross satin ribbon, consisting of black center lines and outer
lines of white with black trim. A good looking mount here.
MEDALS #27040 SAARLAND TINNIE
This Saarland
Tinnie is an 8-sided figure, which is in a nickel finish. In the
center of the tinnie is a Political eagle, with half opened wings
clutching a swastika, resting on a pedestal. The date on the pedestal
is 1934. Below this are shaking hands, and below this
is, Des/Deutschen/ehre ist Die/Treue. Running around
the perimeter of the medal is, Deutsch ist die Saar.
This tinnie is a Party rally type item, which was meant to help
Germany take back the Saarland from France. It is a good looking
item, and not seen that often.
MEDALS #27121 MINATURE KNIGHTS CROSS WITH OAK LEAVES AND SWORDS
This Miniature
Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords is mounted to a
ribbon, and has a stick pin for wearing on the lapel. I believe
that it is an extremely rare miniature. It comes in the original
LDO manila paper, and has the initials printed in
black on the obverse. This medal shows age throughout, but no
abuse whatsoever, and should be highly collectable. The ribbon
is the satin lined copper type, and it is white in the center,
with two lines of white and black bordering the edges. Looped
over the ribbon are the oak leaves with the crossed swords. The
detail is quite good to this miniaturized version of these rarely
seen awards. There is a small loop which connects the Knights
Cross piece to the upper oak leaves and swords. This Knights
Cross has the silvered edges, the raised out swastika in the center,
and the date 1939 on the bottom leg. The reverse of
the Cross has the 1813 date on the bottom line of
that side. The paint enamel is still all there. The pin is soldered
to the back of the oak leaves and swords portion. This is really
a great thing, that I believe to be totally original. A great
item to wear on your sport jacket, at the coming Max show!
MEDALS #27118 SS MEMBERS LAPEL STICK PIN
This Stick
Pin features a set of round SS runes. The runes are quite large
measuring amount ½ inch in diameter. The surface of the
runes button has black enamel, which has some chips in the surface,
but all in all, the enamel rates at about 95%. The button features
two silver circles which are around the diameter border, and of
course, on the inside is the set of silvered SS runes. They are
soldered to a pin. The pin has some serrations cut into its surfaces,
so that it doesnt slip out of the wearers lapel. A
good item to display with some other SS militaria.
MEDALS #27122 BRONZE NON-PORATBLE NUREMBURG 1929 PARTY DAY SHIELD
This Nüremberg
Party Day Shield is in outstanding condition, being the type which
originally came in a small case, and was to be displayed on a
table. The 1929 rally was extremely important to Hitler, and only
those who were high Party officials, received these shields. This
example has wonderful detail to the upper border, featuring the
medieval buildings of this favored city. In the center of the
shield is an Imperial style helmet, with wreathed swastika on
the helmets surface. There is a bird atop the helmet, simulating
the old Imperial look, but the bird is a Party type. Beneath the
helmet is the purpose of the award in three words, Partei/Tag/1929.
Next to the bird is the date 1914, and to the right
of bird is the date 1919, and the letters NSDAP.
The reverse of the medal is stamped with the maker mark, Hoffstetter
Bonn. A fine example here, which would look great with other
political things.
MEDALS #27095 SILVER NON-PORATBLE NUREMBURG 1929 PARTY DAY SHIELD
This Party
Day Shield is the non-portable type, that would have been in a
case, and was to be displayed in the owners living room.
This shield is the silver version, and it features the medieval
buildings of Nüremberg at the top. Below this is the city
name, and in the shield area, there is depicted a raised out German
helmet with eagle atop, clutching a wreathed immobile swastika.
The details to the bird and the helmet are outstanding. To the
left, and right of the bird, are the dates 1914 and
1919, NSDAP. At the bottom beneath the
helmet is in three lines, raised out, Partei/Tag/1929.
On the reverse of the badge is the maker mark, F Hoffstatter/Bonn/800.
MEDALS #27119 SEVEN AWARD RIBBON CLUSTER "BUTTON BACKED" LAPEL PIN
I have never
seen a cluster like this, but what has been done is the seven
awards, that this officer received, have had the ribbons miniaturized
and all put together, staged so that each ribbon can be seen individually
from the edges. At the top of the award is a crown over a set
of crossed swords. The top ribbon also appears to be the Iron
Cross. This is definitely an Imperial cluster, and must have been
worn probably on the lapel of the original owners civilian
jacket. There is a button on the reverse, which is marked, Solide/meumeit.
A very nice award here, and something which the Imperial collector
should easily be able to determine the medals received by the
color of the ribbons.
MEDALS #27089C BUTTON BACKED NSDAP MEMBER BADGE
This NSDAP
Member Badge has excellent enamel throughout, having good colors
to the red, white, and black swastika in the center. The enamel
shows some usage over the surfaces, but there are no fractures.
This badge has the button option on the reverse of it, and it
is also marked RZM M1/34. It is rare to see these
badges with button back.
MEDALS #27293 NSDAP PARTY MEMBERSHIP BADGE
This NSDAP
Party Membership Badge has enamel throughout, and good color to
the red, white, and black swastika. These surfaces have just the
slightest of wear noticeable. The reverse of the badge has the
safety pin catch, and is marked RZM M1/101.
MEDALS -121- #27292 NSDAP "BUTTON BACKED" MEMBERSHIP BADGE
This NSDAP
Membership Badge has all of the enamel present across its surfaces
of red, white, and black swastika. It does show some wear, and
there is a small hit just next to one of the swastika
legs, but the enamel appears to still be there. The reverse of
this badge has the button backed assembly. The button is marked
on the reverse, RZM M1/34.
MEDALS #27294 NSDAP MEMBERSHIP BADGE
This NSDAP
Party Membership Badge has some fractures to the red, white, and
black swastika enamel. There is a small chip of enamel out of
one of the swastika legs, and also a little bit out of the red
area. It still looks good, though, from the naked eye, and is
a good display example. The reverse has the safety pin style catch,
and is marked RZM 1/13.
Excellent Minus. $55.00
MEDALS #27296 NSDAP MEMBERSHIP BADGE
This NSDAP
Membership Badge shows some usage across the surfaces, and there
are some cracks in the red, white, and black swastika enamel,
but they cannot be seen without a loupe, and there is no material
missing. The reverse of the badge has the safety pin style catch,
and it is marked RZM M1/127.
MEDALS #27302 NSDAP STYLE MEMBER BADGE
This NSDAP
Badge looks very similar to the normal examples, except it has
black enamel instead of red, and the swastika is red instead of
black. The field is the same. The enamel shows some usage across
the surfaces, but there are no fractures or cracks. Around the
black edge of the badge is D.V.G. Westmark
Lothr. The reverse of the badge is nicely marked W.Redo
Saarlauter. The pin is a standard safety pin type.
MEDALS #27304 RAD VOLUNTEER BADGE
This RAD Volunteer
Badge is very similar to a NSDAP Membership Badge, being about
the same size, and having the red, white, and black enamel format.
The difference is in the center, instead of a swastika, there
is a shovel positioned between two wheat sheafs. In the red is
the writing, Freiwilliger/Arbeitsdienst. This would
indicate that the recipient was a volunteer in the RAD. The reverse
of the badge has a safety pin style catch, and it is marked with
the raised out letter C.
MEDALS #27306 RVKD TINNIE
This RVKD Tinnie
is about the size of a nickel, and it is struck of bronze. It
shows a naked boy holding a shovel and a sapling tree. Apparently,
the idea was to plant trees on this day. The tinnie has a safety
pin like catch on the reverse, and there is no other markings.
MEDALS #27303 HORTICULTURAL PIN
This Horticultural
Pin is a round oval, which has a green enamel background, with
a open winged eagle applied to the enamel surface. The eagle has
a raised out mobile swastika at his breast, looking similar to
a sports eagle. The silver writing around the border of the enamel
is, Reichsbund Deutscher Kleingartner. This badge
has a safety pin style catch on the reverse, and it is made by
the firm of Wilh. Deumer Lüdenscheid. A nice
looking pin here. Apparently, the Nazis had a party sanctioned
gardening group.
MEDALS #24686 ENTRY INTO CZECHOSLOVAKIA WITH RIBBON
This Czech
Entry medallion is a fine bronze strike. It shows a little bit
of age in the surfaces, but not a lot of wear. The medallion is
about the size of a fifty cent piece and depicts two naked men
with flags standing on top of an open-winged eagle with swastika.
The reverse of the coin has the date the Nazis entered Prague,
1 Oktober 1938. The perimeter of the medallion has
the NSDAP slogan raised out, Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer.
Attached is the original ribbon. The ribbon is ribbed and does
show a little bit of fraying here and there. It has a red center
with two black outer lines.
Excellent Plus. $110.00MEDALS #24378 ENTRY TO CZECHOSLOVAKIA MEDAL
This Czech
Entry medal appears to be an early quality strike having choice
brass like surfaces. The medallion is about the size of a fifty-cent
piece and it depicts two naked men with standartes. The standartes
have swastikas and there is an open winged eagle with swastika
below. The reverse of the medallion has the date of entry into
Czechoslovakia, 1 October 1938, and the slogan of
the Nazi Party, Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer.
There is a red ribbed ribbon with two black outer stripes. A very
fine example.
MEDALS #24918 HINDENBURG CROSS WITH RIBBON
This Hindenburg Cross
is of good quality bronze and it depicts a Maltese style Cross with wreath in the center and crossed swords being positioned between the legs of the Cross.
Inside a raised center wreath, are the dates “1914” through “1918”. The reverse of this cross is marked with the initials “B. H. /L.” The original ribbon is
attached. It is ribbed and has a red center stripe with stripes of black, white, and black running out each side.
MEDALS #25371 SILVER WOUND BADGE
This Silver
Wound Badge is the solid type and it has outstanding silver plating
throughout. The silvering looks to still be close to 100%. This
badge shows only the most nominal of wear. It features an oval
wreath of overlapping laurel leaves. In the center, there are
crossed swords with a German helmet placed over them and a mobile
swastika superimposed on the helmet. The reverse of the badge
features a straight pin having barrel hinge and cup hook. It is
difficult to find silvered examples in this fine of a condition.
MEDALS #24868 BRONZE MOTHERS CROSS IWTH RIBBON
This Bronze Mother’s Cross is a
beauty throughout. The Cross’ legs reflect fine blue, gold, and white enamel surfaces and they are in perfect condition. The center area has
a mounted medallion-like device, which has an immobile swastika in the center with black enamel and white background. Around the medallion is raised out
printing being the purpose of the medal, which in German says the ”German Mother”. The reverse of the award has its date of inception, “16 Dezember 1938”, and it
has a facsimile Hitler signature. The original ribbon is attached. It is the long type,
being ribbed and having a blue lined center with lines of white, blue,
white running out each side. A very fine example here.
MEDALS #22360 HINDENBURG MEDAL WITH RIBBON
This Hindenburg
medal is the typical Iron Cross depiction with swords running
through and raised out wreath in the center. It has the dates
1914 through 1918. It is complete with its original ribbon. These
medals were presented to all World War I veterans.
MEDALS #22365 WEST WALL MEDAL WITH RIBBON
This medal
is a later strike being a zinc base. It is an oval disk form having
oak leaves around the perimeter. The top of the award displays
an open winged Party eagle with wreathed mobile swastika. The
bird is positioned over a shovel and a sword, which is in turn,
atop a large bunker depiction. These medals were given to participants
who worked on the construction of the West Wall. It comes complete
with its original ribbed ribbon which is a yellow gold color with
white stripes on each edge.
MEDALS #25319 BRASS SWASTIKA PIN
This Brass
Swastika Pin is probably a tinnie, but I do know for
sure. It is about one inch square, and is a good quality item,
being in the shape of an immobile swastika, and having a brass
finish. The top upper leg of the swastika, and the lower bottom
leg, have the date, 1 Marz/1935. There are some signs
that this swastika may have been a silver color at one time. It
now is down to the brass. The reverse has a standard safety pin
style catch, and it is stamped, Deschler/München 9.
This is a great display item, to put with some other political
memorabilia.
MEDALS #26896 1ST CLASS IRON CROSS
This First
Class Iron Cross shows a little bit of mild usage, but the silvering
and serrations are still in nice condition. The dark black finish
is also still good throughout, showing some minor age, but still
appearing to be intact. There is one small area at the left leg
lower corner where the blackening appears to be thinning. There
is a good, vaulted mobile swastika in the center with a fine,
vaulted date of 1939" at the lower leg. On the reverse,
the hinge is slightly different than we normally see. It is a
barrel style which is mounted to a shield shape base. The pin
itself is the coke bottle style with cup hook. This coke bottle
pin is stamped L52". I believe that this is quite a
rare stamping to see and, also, the format of the hinge device
is a rare method use. For those out there collecting Iron Cross
types, this should be a good one.
MEDALS #26895 1ST CLASS IRON CROSS
This Iron Cross
First Class still has good, bright silvering to the edges of its
legs, and the serrations are crisp. The original dark finish appears
to still be 100% throughout and the center swastika has a good
vaulted appearance. The 1939" date on the lower leg
is also crisp. The reverse of the badge has the double style barrel
hinge with a coke bottle shaped pin and cup hook. I do not see
any maker markings on this badge. The reverse of the badge also
has good patination. A fine example to display with some other
memorabilia.
MEDALS #26876 NEXT OF KIN SILVER SPANISH CROSS AND MOTHERS CROSS RIBBON BAR / MEDAL
This Parade
medal ribbon bar is really good looking and, I thought, irresistible
when I bought it. The ribbon bar has two medals and their corresponding
ribbons. The first medal is a miniature sized silver Spanish flyers
cross. The cross has fine Luftwaffe eagles with swastikas mounted
between each leg. In the center, there is a vaulted swastika within
a bordered circle. As we like to see on these medals, the swastika
is vaulted out higher than the circles around it. The details
to the four Luftwaffe eagles are also quite nice. I do not see
any markings on the back of this cross. Next to the cross is a
bronze Mothers Cross. This cross has good enameling throughout
the blue, white and gold bordered legs. In the center is an enamel
white round field and a black immobile swastika. There are a few
scratches over the field and swastika area, but I dont see
any missing enamel. Around the white field is a bronze rim which
has the purpose of the cross Der Deutschen Mutter.
The reverse of the cross has the date 16.Dezember 1938"
and a facsimile of Hitlers signature. The ribbons behind
these medals for the Spanish Cross are black with white, red,
gold and red striped edge lines, and a blue, white, blue, white
ribbon for the Mothers Cross. The reverse of this parade
medal has a red wool liner with a straight pin. It is my understanding
that this medal bar would have been worn by the mother of a Luftwaffe
pilot killed during the Spanish Civil War campaign. This is a
rarely seen medal and is 100% genuine.
MEDALS #26859 2ND CLASS BRONZE WAR MERIT CROSS WITH SWORDS AND RIBBON
This 2nd Class
War Merit Cross is one of the early strikes, having a rich, bronze
finish. It consists of a Maltese style cross having stippling
to all of the legs. In the center is a round wreath which contains
a raised out mobile swastika. Roman-like swords pierce the center
areas. The reverse is the same, except the date 1939"
replaces the swastika in the center. There is a loop at the top
to which a ribbon would be placed through. In this case, the ribbon
accompanies the badge, but has never been threaded through the
loop. This ribbon still remains in choice condition. It is a textured
satin having a black stripe in the center with stripes of white
and red which run out on both edges. This example appears to have
been in a packet and probably never issued. If you have an extra
packet, it would fit good with this medal.
MEDALS #25035 CLOTH EMBROIDED LUFTWAFFE OBSERVER BADGE
This Observers
badge is the cloth version. It has a base of Luftwaffe gray wool,
to which is embroidered in white thread, the image of the Observer
badge. It features an oval of overlapping oak leaves, with a large
eagle coming in for a landing, clutching an open mobile swastika.
The details to the stitching are outstanding. The badge is still
nice and clean, and in pristine condition. The reverse has a black
paper covering, which is 100% intact. A beautiful cloth badge
here.
MEDALS #25023 CASED GOLD MOTHERS CROSS
This case of
the Mothers Cross is a dark blue leatherette. It shows some
signs of age, having a few scuffs here and there, but overall
it is still in good shape. The center area has an embossed replica
of the medal in gold. The inside lid is a padded silk having,
the makers name at the bottom in black. It is marked, R.Houschild,
Pforzheim. The inside area is an off-white velvet, which
is split in the middle to accommodate the ribbon. The medal is
a beautiful enameled cross, having the lower leg being longer
than the three upper examples. The cross exhibits a blue enameled
center, with white border. These colors are separated by gilded
narrow borderlines. In the center of the medal is a sunburst style
backing, with a round medallion, exhibiting an immobile black
swastika on white enamel field. There is a golden border around
the field, which has the purpose of the medal, which in English
is, The German Mother. Attached to the medal is the
original blue and white stripped, ribbed satin, ribbon. This ribbon
is the long type and would have been worn around the neck. The
reverse of the medal is engraved with the inception date of, 16
Dezember 1938. Below this, is a facsimile of Adolph Hitlers
signature. This medal was awarded for German mothers, who bore
eight or more children. Quite an accomplishment!
MEDALS #23582 SILVER WOUND BADGE
This
Silver Wound badge is the style with zinc base metal. It has turned
a gray color, but does still have signs of the original silvering
appearing around the edge. There is maybe 10% of this silvering
remaining. This ovaled badge features overlapping laurel leaves
around the borders with a bow at the bottom. There are two crossed
swords at the pebbled center which have a helmet and superimposed
mobile swastika. The reverse has a standard straight style pin.
Not a bad looking original badge.
MEDALS #23581 BLACK WOUND BADGE
This
badge is the standard type having a hollowed back with straight
style pin. The obverse surface features black paint and some of
the paint has worn from the high areas. The paint is about 80-85%.
The badge depicts overlapping laurel leaves on the outside with
crossed swords in the middle having a helmet and superimposed
mobile swastika. Good original example.
MEDALS #23600 EASTERN PEOPLE DECORATION WITH RIBBON<
This
decoration is essentially a sunburst design having two swords
which cross in the center and a shield superimposed over the blades.
The shield further has a pinwheel type flower device in the center.
This medal appears to be made of a zinc base and it is complete
with its original satin ribbed ribbon. This ribbon is green with
a red stripe on each edge. This is the Second Class in Silver
type.
MEDALS #20380 ENTRY INTO CZECH WITH RIBBON
This
Entry into Czechoslovakia medal is a fine early example stuck
in bronze. The medal is about the size of a fifty-cent piece.
It depicts two naked men with flags. They are standing over an
open winged eagle with wreathed swastika. The reverse of the medal
has the date of this entry, "1 Oktober 1938". It further
has the slogan, "Ein Reich, Ein Führer, Ein Volk".
The ribbon is the ribbed satin type having red center with two
stripes of black on each side. Fine unissued appearance.
MEDALS #23591 DRA SPORTS BADGE
This
Sports badge is the 1st style that has no swastika. It features
an ovaled wreath of overlapping oak leaves. In the center are
the pierced letters which are intertwined, "DRA". On
the reverse there is lots of maker writing. The pin is a tapered
flat style.
MEDALS #23606 HITLER YOUTH POTSDAM BADGE
This
badge is a rectangular shape which is stamped with a lengthwise
depiction. It is a brass base with silver plating. The plating
is thinning at the high points. It depicts a large excaliber style
sword with a wreathed immobile swastika superimposed over the
hilt. At the bottom of the badge next to the blade is the date,
"1932". At the top of the badge are the letters, "NS".
The reverse has a standard pin and there is a maker marking which
has the raised letters, "DH". A good original badge.
MEDALS #25636 1ST CLASS IRON CROSS WITH SCREW BACK
This 1st Class
Iron Cross has fairly bright silvering throughout the edges. The
serration parts are nice and crisp. The dark black covering is
100% throughout the surfaces. In the center is a vaulted mobile
swastika, and below on the lower leg, is the raised-out date,
1939. The reverse of this medal has a little pin at
the top leg, which would have kept the insignia straight on the
uniform. At the center area is a threaded stud, to which there
is a round catch, which threads on to the stud. At the lower leg
the Cross is marked, L/13. A very fine example here,
which does show some usage, but still has good condition.
MEDALS #25676 NSDAP MEMBER PIN WITH PAINTED SURFACE
This NSDAP
Member Pin is the later style, that has the painted surface. It
is about the size of a nickel. The center area has a black mobile
swastika, which has gold border lines, and a white round field.
The perimeter area of the badge has the raised-out written name
for the NSDAP. The reverse of the badge is marked, M7/90.
There is also an RZM. The Z in the RZM is backwards. There is
a standard safety pin-type catch. A fine original, later example.
MEDALS #25683 NSDAP MEMBER PIN WITH PAINTED SURFACE
MEDALS #25134 IMPERIAL AUSTRIAN 5 MEDAL PARADE RIBBON BAR
This ribbon
bar consists of five separate Austrian medals. The medals all
appear to be of World War I, or before vintage. The reverse has
a fine field green ribbon backing, with long brass pin.
MEDALS #25136 IMPERIAL SAXON 3 MEDAL PARADE RIBBON BAR
This ribbon
bar features three Imperial medals, the first being a Iron Cross,
and the last being a Hindenburg piece. The medal in the center
is Saxon type, having the initials, FA, indicating
the King of Saxony, Friedrich August III. The medals and ribbons
are in excellent condition. The backing is a black wool, with
brass pin.
MEDALS #25138 IMPERIAL WURTENBURG 4 MEDAL PARADE RIBBON BAR
This 4-Medal
Parade ribbon bar has an Imperial Iron Cross, and the Hindenburg
medal. The two medals in between are, apparently, from Wurtenburg,
an area not seen too often. This is a fine example, with good
color to the ribbons.
MEDALS #25142 IMPERIAL FRANCO-PRUSSIAN 3 MEDAL PARADE DRESS BAR
This 3-Medal
Parade dress bar appears to go back to the Franco-Prussian time.
One of the medals features an image of the 90-day king, Friedrich
of Prussia. The center medal is dated 1864, and has the initials,
which appear to be W and FJ. The third medal is a silver example,
which looks to be of Bavarian vintage. The reverse of the medal
bar is a red velvet, with long brass pin.
MEDALS #25133 IMPERIAL PRUSSIAN 2 MEDAL PARADE BAR
This 2-Medal
Parade bar has some age to the ribbons, and features a large medallion-like
medal with the image of Kaiser Wilhelm I. It appears to be a 100th
Birthday commemorative, dated 1897. The other medal is a commemorative
of the Franco-Prussian War.
MEDALS #25144 IMPERIAL AUSTRIA HUNGARY 5 MEDAL BAR
This Austria-Hungary
medal bar features the Iron Cross and the Hindenburg medals, and
then there are three Austria-Hungary medals, complete with the
ribbons. One of the Austria medals has crossed swords applied
to the ribbon above. This is a very fine grouping, having a navy
blue backing with long pin.
MEDALS #23732 CLOTH GERMAN CROSS FOR ARMY
This cloth
German Cross does not appear to have been issued. It is very beautiful
indeed having a laurel leaf raised out gold wreath on a red background.
The red is trimmed in aluminum bullion. Inside is a black swastika
trimmed in the same bullion over a white cotton field. This circular
depiction has a sunburst like decoration around its perimeter
which is done with black threads having bullion trim. The medal
depiction is on a field green background indicating that this
award would have been made to Army or Waffen SS people. The reverse
has all of the paper backing and there is a white circular stamping
which appears to be some type of a maker's marking. This is a
very fine original which would be great for display with a fine
Army dagger.
MEDALS #23919 MEDAL FOR SOCIAL WELFARE WITH RIBBON
This
silvered medallion style Social Welfare medal is about the size
of a fifty-cent piece. It features a cross on the obverse which
has a raised out, closed winged, Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed
swastika in its talons. The detail is outstanding to this depiction.
On the reverse is the purpose of the medal and it is raised out,
"Medaille / für / deutsche / Volkspflege". There
is a carrying ring above to which is attached the original ribbon.
This ribbon is a ribbed satin and it has a large orange / red
center color with white stripes on both edges. This medal shows
only nominal age and is quite good looking.
MEDALS #23429 WAR MERIT CROSS WITH SWORDS AND RIBBON
This war merit cross is a zinc
base and it has about 50-60% of the original bronze finish. It
is still crisp throughout and is complete with an original ribbon.
MEDALS #23427 WAR MERIT CROSS WITH SWORDS AND RIBBON
This war merit cross is a zinc
base and 60% of the original bronze finish. Crisp throughout and is complete with an original ribbon.
Excellent Plus. $40.00
MEDALS #24199 WAFFEN SS / ARMY INFANTRY ASSAULT BADGE
This infantry assault badge
is one of the later zinc types which has signs of once having
a silvered finish. The silvering is about ten percent throughout
the recesses of the badge. The badge displays an ovaled wreath
of overlapping oak leaves. At the top is a Wehrmacht eagle with
closed wings clutching a mobile swastika. Across the diagonal
of the oak leaf oval is a well detailed K-98 rifle equipped with
sling and bayonet. Excellent detail throughout this badge. The
reverse has a straight pin style catch.
Excellent Plus, Plus. $125.00
MEDALS #26274 DENAZIFIED ARMY FLAK BADGE
This Army Flak
badge, unfortunately, has had the swastika filed off the bottom
of the closed-wing Wehrmacht eagle. It is, however, an original
example and should be of value to perhaps a collector on a budget
out there. The badge is composed of a zinc base oval having oak
leaf and acorn decoration running around the surfaces. In the
center of the open area, there is positioned an 88
cannon. The details to the cannon are fantastic throughout. The
reverse of the badge is marked R.S. in capital letters
and raised out. There is a little bit of pimpling in the silvered
surfaces on the reverse. The badge has a straight pin with cup
hook.
MEDALS #27328 IMPERIAL / 3RD REICH 4 MEDAL PARADE BAR
This Parade
Bar apparently belonged to a member of the famous Life Guarde
Hussar Regiment, as there is a medal bar positioned on the ribbons
above the Imperial Participation Hindenburg Medal. This medal
bar consists of a gilded Royal Merit Cross with sword in the first
position, followed by the aforementioned Hindenburg Medal in second
position. In the third position is a forty year Service Medal
in gold, having a black enamel swastika. And finally, in the fourth
position is an Imperial Medal, which depicts Kaiser Wilhelm the
First. This Imperial Medal is quite large, being about the size
of a silver dollar. I believe it commemorates Wilhelms birthday.
This large medallion has scratched the enamel surface of the 40-year
cross next to it, but this type of damage is to be expected, with
any medal bar that was actually worn. Collectors, familiar with
Imperial history, will know that the Life Guarde Hussar Regiments
were the absolute elite in Imperial Germany, and the First and
Second Guarde Units were at the beck and command of Kaiser Wilhelm
himself. This would be a fantastic medal bar for the right tunic.
MEDALS #26315 1ST CLASS IRON CROSS
This Iron Cross still has its nice, bright, silvered finish
to the legs and the serrations are crisp throughout. All of the
black surface is there, being 100%. The mobile swastika in the
center is highly vaulted, as is the date on the bottom leg 1939".
The reverse of the cross is also bright throughout, having a barrel
hinge with coke bottle style pin. This cross is unmarked and it
also is one of the types that has a non-magnetic center. It is
definitely an original example, however, and it can be clearly
seen throughout the leg surfaces where the two halves have been
positioned and soldered together. A very fine example here.
MEDALS #20180 WAR MERIT MEDAL WITH RIBBON IN ISSUE PACKET
This award
consists of a round bronze disc measuring about 1 1/4" with
carrying ring. The obverse has a detailed raised out Maltese Cross
with wreathed swastika in the center. The reverse of medal is
raised out, Für Kreigs verdienst 1939. The medal is
worn from an accompanying red, white and black striped ribbon.
The accompanying issue packet is a brown manila. Printed on the
packet is Kriegs/Verdienstmedaille/ 1939. Fine unissued
item.
MEDALS #27337 SWASTIKA TINNIE
I believe that
this medal is a tinnie, although it is extremely well made, and
is more substantial than the usual tinnies that we see. It measures
approximately one inch by one inch, and depicts a mobile swastika.
It is done in brass, which appears to have had a gilded surface
at one time. The legs of the swastika are all cut out, and as
mentioned above, the medal is extremely well made. The top swastika
leg has the date, 1 Mar and the bottom has the year,
1935. The reverse of this swastika has a standard
safety pin style catch, and is marked by the famous producer that
also did the golden Party badges, Deschler München.
This is a good looking item that might enhance a display, or if
you are really nervy, you could wear it on your lapel to the Max
show.
MEDALS #27331 IMPERIAL / 3RD REICH 6 MEDAL PARADE BAR
This 6-Medal
Parade Bar is quite interesting, as it goes back to the Imperial
Period, but also stretches into the 3rd Reich. It appears as though
the original wearer of the medal bar was deeply associated with
the German Red Cross. The first three Imperial medals have Red
Cross designations on them. The first medal has a 1914 bar above
it, on the blue and white ribbon. The medal itself has an enameled
Red Cross on the obverse, with a Bavarian Shield on the reverse.
The second medal also has an enamel Red Cross with a crown above
it, and on the reverse, signifies it is for service in the Red
Cross. The third medal is similar to the second medal, except
it is in copper color instead of silver, and does not have enamel
to the Red Cross. The fourth medal is the standard Hindenburg
World War 1 participation type. The fifth medal is a fine 10-year
NSDAP medal, which has the zinc surfaces, and blue and white ribbon
above. The last medal is a 25-year service medal in silver, with
black immobile enameled swastika. This medal shows some hits,
but that is from being next to the other medals, and would be
normal to see on any kind of medal bar like this, that was actually
worn. The ribbons are above all of these medals, and on the reverse
there is a yellow wool-like material sewn. The medals are positioned
to hooks on the reverse. A great looking thing here, and terrific
if you have the right tunic to put it on, or some good Red Cross
things to display it with.
MEDALS #26299 ARMY FOUR-YEAR SERVICE MEDAL ON PARADE BAR
This Army Four-Year
medal is about the size of a fifty-cent piece. It is a silver
finish over what appears to be a copper or brass base. The medal
features a Wehrmacht closed-wing style eagle which clutches a
mobile swastika. The details throughout the eagle are outstanding.
Around the bird is the purpose of the medal Treue Dienste
Im Der Wehrmacht. On the reverse is a large number 4"
raised out of the center and the number is surrounded by a wreath
of oak leaves. This medal is mounted to a blue ribbed ribbon which
has a parade mount on the reverse. The reverse is a deep blue
wool color and has a proper safety-like pin attached.
MEDALS #26292 NSDAP TEN-YEAR SERVICE MEDAL WITH RIBBON
This NSDAP
medal is the zinc variety and it consists of a Maltese style cross
having rays between the legs. In the center is a raised out open
eagle over a wreath clutching a wreath swastika. On the reverse
is the same depiction, except, in the center area is the four-line
purpose of the medal Treue/Für Führer/Und/Volk.
The medal shows a little bit of age and some oxidation, but it
is still fairly crisp and sharp. Attached to the ring above is
the proper ribbed satin ribbon. It is a dark brown color having
two white stripes on each edge. These are not too easy to find.
MEDALS #26295 RUSSIAN WINNER MEDAL WITH RIBBON
This Russian
Winner medal is in exceptional condition, having still-good, bright
silvering around the edges and the helmet with darker gray coloring
in the center area. The medal is about the size of a fifty-cent
piece. The silvered helmet at the top rests over a stick grenade.
In the center of the medal is a large Wehrmacht eagle with its
half-closed wings in relief. The bird clutches an immobile swastika.
On the reverse is the purpose of the medal Winterschlacht/Im
Osten/1941-42". At the bottom is a sword over a sprig of
laurel leaves. Good preservation here throughout this medallion.
Attached at the top ring is the proper ribbon. It is a red satin
ribbed ribbon having a black stripe in the center with narrow
white stripe alongside. The ribbon itself is a deep red color.
MEDALS #26284 WEST WALL MEDAL WITH RIBBON
This West Wall
medal is of an oval shape medallion and it appears to be stamped
in brass or bronze. The outside edges are overlapping oak leaves.
At the tope area is an open-winged eagle with a wreathed swastika.
Below this is a semblance of the West Wall with a sword and shovel
above it. The reverse of the medal has the six-line dedication
of its purpose FÜR/ARBEIT/ZUM/SCHUTZE/DEUTSCH/LANDS.
Attached to the medallion ring is the original ribbon. This ribbon
is of ribbed satin material being of a mustard yellow color. There
is a white line on each side of the ribbon.
MEDALS #26282 RUSSIAN WINTER MEDAL WITH RIBBON
The Russian
Winter medal is about the size of a fifty-cent piece. The medallion
depicts a half-closed wing eagle which is clutching an immobile
raised swastika. Above the bird is a helmet resting on a stick
grenade. The helmet motif follows through the rear of the medallion.
In the center of the rear portion is the purpose of the medal
Winterschlacht/Im-Osten/194-42". At the bottom area
is a sword over a sprig of laurel leaves. This medal shows some
normal age and just a little bit of lifting on the reverse. The
ring at the top contains the proper ribbon. It is a satin ribbon,
being red in color. In the center is a narrow black stripe with
two smaller white stripes on each side. A good-looking medal which
would go nicely with an Army dagger.
MEDALS #26223 SS / ARMY INFANTRY BADGE
This Infantry
badge is bronze over a zinc base. Most of the bronze appears to
still be in the surfaces of this badge, although it does show
some dull age evenly spread over the surfaces. The badge is an
oval depiction having overlapping oak leaves on the surfaces.
At the top is a Wehrmacht closed wing eagle which clutches a mobile
swastika. Diagonally placed across the open badge is a K-98 rifle
with fixed bayonet and sling. The details are outstanding throughout
the rifle. The reverse is unmarked and has a long vertical pin
on hinge with catch. A good original showing wartime usage.
MEDALS #26225 BLACK WOUND BADGE
This Black
Wound badge is the hollow-backed type and it has all of its black
finish on the obverse. The badge consists of an ovaled design,
having laureled wreath around the outside. The inside has black
pebbling and depicts crossed swords. Superimposed over the swords
is a helmet with a raised out mobile swastika. The detail is outstanding
throughout. The reverse of the badge is unmarked, having a catch
with pin on hinge-like device.
MEDALS #26219 BRONZE MOTHERS CROSS WITH RIBBON
This bronze
Mothers Cross shows some even age toning, but the enamel
all looks to be in good condition throughout. The cross features
legs of blue enamel bordered with gold and white colors. There
is a sunray effect between the legs of the cross. In the center,
there is a round medallion-like addition which features a black
enameled swastika in the center with white field. Running around
this are the raised out letters which are the purpose of the medal
Der Deutscher Mutter. On the reverse, the bronze medal
has the stamping 16 Dezember 1938" with a facsimile
of Hitlers signature. A small, short ribbon is attached
at the top. This ribbon is blue with white stripes. This Mothers
Cross was worn, but it is in still-good condition and nice for
display.
MEDALS #26196C 2ND CLASS IRON CROSS WITH RIBBON
This 2nd Class
Iron Cross is in good condition, showing mild usage. The legs
have good silvering and fairly crisp serrations. There is some
mild lifting to the black paint on both sides of the cross. The
lifting, though, is an obvious sign of age and does not look bad.
The center area has a good vaulted mobile swastika with 1939"
date below. The reverse has the date of inception 1813".
The ring is not marked, but the original ribbon is there. This
ribbon is ribbed and is red in the center with white and black
stripes. A good display example.
MEDALS #26310 IMPERIAL WWI BLACK WOUND BADGE
This black
Wound badge is the oval design having overlapping oak leaves which
run throughout the border. Inside is a set of crossed swords with
a large Imperial helmet superimposed over the swords. Some of
the paint is worn from the helmet, as this is the area which protrudes
the furthest. The rest of the paint in the backgrounds still looks
pretty good. Overall, I would say the black is about 80%. The
reverse has a straight pin and catch and it is a hollow back design.
MEDALS #26307 BLACK WOUND BADGE
This is a hollow-backed
type Wound badge, and all of the black pain appears to be intact
over the surfaces. It has an excellent look to it. The badge is
an oval design with overlapping laurel leaves. It is pebbled in
the center and has a set of crossed swords. Superimposed over
the swords is a helmet with a mobile swastika in relief. The reverse
of the badge has a barrel catch with pin and cup hook. The badge
is stamped on the back L/56". A good, original Wound
badge.
MEDALS #26302 SS/ARMY INFANTRY ASSAULT BADGE
This Infantry
badge is a zinc base and there are traces of the original silvering
in the recessed areas. The badge is an oval design consisting
of overlapping oak leaves and acorns. At the top is a Wehrmacht
eagle which looks to the viewers right and is clutching
a mobile swastika. Diagonally across the open wreath is a K-98
rifle with fixed bayonet. The details are excellent throughout
the weapon. This badge is unmarked and on the reverse has a long
vertical pin and cup hook.
MEDALS #26301 SS / ARMY INFANTRY ASSAULT BADGE
This zinc based
Assault badge has slight signs of its original silvering remaining
in the depths, but there is not much there. The depiction consists
of overlapping oak leaves and acorns. At the top is a Wehrmacht
eagle which is nicely detailed and clutches a mobile swastika.
Diagonally across the open badge is a K-98 rifle. The detail is
fairly good to this rifle, having a leather sling and fixed bayonet.
The reverse is unmarked and has a barrel catch with straight pin
and hook.
MEDALS #26305 SS / ARMY CLOSE COMBAT CLASP
This Close
Combat clasp is in the bronze configuration. It has outstanding
detail throughout with no base metal showing. The clasp has a
series of lined figures which run outward, having overlapping
oak leaves in the center of the figures. In the very middle of
the design there is an open-winged eagle which clutches a mobile
swastika. This bird is positioned over a crossed bayonet and hand
grenade. The area below is open and is sealed in the back with
a magnetic steel square metal piece. On the reverse, there is
a long coke bottle style pin which has line designs running along
its edges. This Combat clasp is unmarked on the reverse. It shows
only mild age but still has crisp design.
MEDALS #26097 OLD FIGHTERS MEDALLION
This Old Fighters
Medallion is about 2 ¼ inches in diameter. It appears to
be made of perhaps a silvered zinc base. It has a Political style,
half-open-winged eagle, which clutches a wreathed mobile swastika.
The bird looks to the viewers right, and is nicely detailed.
Around the bird is the writing, 15 Jahre kampf um Ingolstadt
dem alten Kämpfer. This, to me, seems to signify that
there was a 15 year meeting of the Old Fighters from the
Party held in Ingolstadt. The reverse of the medallion has the
raised-out, 6-line inscription, Zer Errinerung/an/15. Jahresfeier/gewidmet
von der/stadt Ingolstadt/11.12.1937. Again, this hints at
the same thing, indicating it is a gift of the remembrance of
the 15 year reunion held in the city of Ingolstadt, on the Dezember
11, 1937. I have never seen one of these before, and cant
find it in any books. I am making a guess at its value.
MEDALS #26359C OSWALD BOELKE COMEMORATIVE MEDALLION
This impressive
medallion is about 3 ½ inches in diameter. It appears to
have been struck in bronze. The obverse has a raised bust of a
profile of the great Imperial flyer, Oswald Boelcke. The details
to his face are excellent, and this is a fine image of the man.
He wears his Imperial tunic, and it is easy to see the Blue Max
medal hanging from the throat area. Around the perimeter is the
raised-out wording, Oswald Boelcke 28.Oktober.1916.
There are Iron Crosses, which separate the mans name, from
his date of death. The image was apparently designed by the mans
name, which appears beneath the bust, K.Goetz. On
the reverse, there is an Imperial single-winged airplane, complete
with an Iron Cross under the wing, and above it, an eagle flying,
and also an angel superimposed over the airplane. Around the perimeter
of the medallion are the words, Kampf. in. den Lvften.
I assume that these were words that designated the death of the
fighter. The detail throughout this depiction is also outstanding.
This would be a great medallion to display with other World War
1 aircraft memorabilia. As most people know, Boelcke was very
famous, and was one of the original German flyers to make good
during World War 1. He, of course, won the Blue Max, and at the
time he won it, I believe a pilot only needed 15 confirmed kills,
which later was raised to 21. A fine item here which is relatively
rare.
Excellent Plus. $495.00
MEDALS #27899 IMPERIAL PILOTS BADGE
This Imperial
pilots badge looks to be a jewelers made example,
as it has an applied jewelers plaque on the reverse which
we will get to in a moment. The pilots badge is shaped in
an oval having a wreath which, on the left, is composed of a laurel
leaf border and on the right an overlapping oak leaf border. The
oak leaves in each situation are in three rows. The detail is
extraordinary throughout and at the bottom, there is a ribbon
tied in a bow. At the top of the oval wreath is a most beautiful
Imperial German crown. The crown features the cross an alternating
eagles which can be seen on the first three domed panels. There
are finials which go upward and on the top, there is an orb with
a cross. The detail to this crown is also extraordinary. In the
center is a very early original style aircraft with propellor.
The aircraft would be of the type used very early on in the war
or before the war. This lighter than air machine is pictured over
a small village with some hills and buildings in the background.
The badge is beautifully patinaed throughout. On the reverse,
there is a very substantial barrel style hinge. The barrel is
actually hex shaped, having its own inner shape. The pin itself
is a straight variety having small tip and it is retained by an
applied cup hook. At the center of the badge is a small silver
plaque. The plaque is beautifully engraved with the jeweler joh.
Wager & Söhn. Beneath the jewelers name is
a nicely detailed half moon, Prussian crown and 800".
To the right of the hallmarks is the location city Berlin.w.
I believe that this pilots badge was possibly made as a
showroom type example where something possibly made as a beautiful
sample for a trade show. Either way, it is very old and very beautiful.
MEDALS #26425 EARLY LUFTWAFFE FLAK BADGE
This Flak Badge
is a real beauty, having a great black patination across the silvered
surfaces. The badge consists of an oval wreath of overlapping
oak leaves, which is open in the middle. Atop the wreath is a
highly detailed Luftwaffe eagle, which flies to the viewers
right. This bird carries a mobile swastika, with pierced legs.
The detail to the feathering, eye, and beak area is exceptional.
Below, on the base of the wreath, is mounted an 88
gun, with its barrel piercing the wreath, at about the 50 degree,
2 oclock angle. The 88 cannon is also a beauty,
showing full details throughout. This is an exceptional early
medal. The reverse has a barrel catch, with a straight pin. The
pin has a few bends in, it where it was originally on a uniform.
The badge is marked on the reverse, Brehmer Markneu Kirchen.
An outstanding example, to put with a good looking Luftwaffe dagger
or other relic.
MEDALS #26419C AIR GUNNER BADGE
This Air Gunner
Badge is beautifully detailed, and is the style with a bird flying
downward, with nothing in his talons. The badge is made up of
an oval design, half of which is formed of overlapping oak leaves,
and the other half from overlapping laurel leaves. At the bottom
of the wreath is a mobile swastika. Positioned over the wreath,
and held by rivets, is a diving eagle. The detail to this bird,
throughout the feathering, claws, beak, and head, is phenomenal.
The reverse of the pin has the rivets with small raised heads.
The hinge is a barrel style, with straight pin and cup hook. The
eagle is marked on the reverse with the producer, W.Deumer
Ludenscheid. A beautiful original badge here.
MEDALS #26411C SA DEFENSE BADGE FOR THE WAR DISABLED
This SA Badge
looks a lot like the standard Sports Badge, but it is also much
different. It is in a bronze color, and is in the configuration
of an oval formed by a wreath of overlapping oak leaves. At the
bottom of the oak leaves is a rune symbol, the type used by the
Feldherrnhalle. Beneath the rune is a Roman-style broad sword
grip, with a blade which points upward, through the open area
of the center wreath. Behind the blade is a lined mobile swastika,
with pebbling to the surface. This is a rarely seen badge, and
it is in good condition. The reverse has a barrel style hinge,
with coke-bottle shape pin and cup hook. A fine original item.
MEDALS #26428C GOLD SA SPORTS BADGE
This SA Gold
Sports Badge has nearly 100% of the original gilt still there.
There are some darker places, but these look to be factory darkened
areas, down near the hilt of the sword. The badge consists of
a mostly round wreath, formed by a circle of overlapping oak leaves.
The center is open, and has a Roman-style sword, which has the
grip end at the bottom, with the blade pointing upward through
the badge. Beneath the sword is a mobile style swastika. The reverse
of the badge has raised-out writing, W. Redo, and
it also has in the writing, Saar. This is a fine vaulted
badge, in outstanding condition. These gold badges are not easy
to find.
MEDALS #26427C BRONZE DRL BADGE
This fine-looking
Bronze DRL Badge is in outstanding condition throughout. It consists
of an oval formation of overlapping oak leaves. At the bottom
of the oval is placed a mobile swastika. The open center has a
set of intertwined initials, DRL. On the reverse of
the badge some of the words are Jena and DRGM.The
hinge is a barrel style, with flat straight pin and catch hook.
Nice looking badge, with good vaulted appearance.
MEDALS #26421C INFANTRY COMBAT CLASP
This Infantry
Combat Clasp is the bronze type. It appears to be zinc beneath
the bronze finish. The center area has the steel plate behind
the opening. The badge has two stages of lined designs, which
come outward from the center block, and over these are a series
of oak leaves and acorns. In the center it is pierced, and there
is an open-winged eagle, with a mobile swastika, at the top. At
the bottom, is a crossed grenade and bayonet. The reverse of the
clasp has a barrel-style hinge, with a coke-bottle style pin,
having a ridge which runs down its center. There is a cup hook
at the end. The badge is marked, Fec. W. E./ Peekhaus/Berlin.
On the right side it is marked, Ausf.A.G.Mu.K.Bablonz.
A good original badge, showing some minor age, and a little corrosion
on the surfaces.
MEDALS #26368C SS / ARMY ASSAULT BADGE
This Army Assault
Badge is high quality, being of a zinc base. It has outstanding
detail throughout the oval oak leaf wreath, and the Wehrmacht
eagle and swastika at the top. Even the K98 rifle crossing the
badge is choice. It is marked on the back with the maker initials,
WH. The hinge pin and cup are the brass type.
MEDALS #21923 TWO PIECE IMPERIAL MEDAL BAR
This medal
bar has a Iron Cross and a Hindenburg medal only. Both medals,
however, are in choice condition, particularly the Iron Cross.
The bar has the proper ribbons attached and the reverse of it
is fitted with a pin. The medal area of the reverse is stamped,
"DRGM".
MEDALS #22045 DRL SPORTS BADGE
This sports
badge has a very fine deep plum-like patination. It is an oval
design having overlapping oak leaves throughout the edges. At
the bottom is a raised out mobile swastika. In the center it is
pierced and has the three intertwined letters, "DRL".
The reverse has a good pin and shows that the badge is stamped
as it has a vaulting to its appearance. There are no marks on
the back. Nice looking badge.
MEDALS #24920 SILVER WOUND BADGE WITH TITLED PACKET
The packet
of this Wound Badge example is the off-white manila type. It shows
some age and wear, but there are no tears or any problems. The
packet is titled Berwundeten-/Abzeichen/Silber. This,
of course, translates to Silver Wound Badge. There is also old
ink writing on the upper portion of the badge indicating it is
a Silver Wound example. This was done probably years ago, but
since it is in English, must have been done by a collector. The
badge itself is the solid zinc type. It still has silvering which
covers about 2/3s of the outer border, and it is also evident
on the raised-out swastika as well as on the grips of both of
the swords. This silvering rates at about 30% to 40% . The badge
consists of an oval wreath bordered by overlapping oak leaves.
The center area is pebbled and depicts a raised-out helmet with
super-imposed swastika positioned over crossed swords. The reverse
has a plain pin which still reflects the silvering. The badge
is not marked. A nice example.
MEDALS #25035 EMBROIDERED CLOTH LUFTWAFFE OBSERVER BADGE
This
Observers badge is the cloth version. It has a base of Luftwaffe
gray wool, to which is embroidered in white thread, the image
of the Observer badge. It features an oval of overlapping oak
leaves, with a large eagle coming in for a landing, clutching
an open mobile swastika. The details to the stitching are outstanding.
The badge is still nice and clean, and in pristine condition.
The reverse has a black paper covering, which is 100% intact.
A beautiful cloth badge here.
MEDALS #22813 RUSSIAN WINTER MEDAL
This
medal is in good condition still having much of the original gray
coating with some lacquer still visible on the obverse. The medal
features a helmet over a raised out closed winged eagle with mobile
swastika. It is a medallion type circular medal about the size
of a fifty cent piece. The reverse features the purpose of the
medal which says in German, The Winner in the East 1941/42.
This medal is complete with its original red ribbed ribbon. The
ribbon has a black and white edged stripe in the center.
MEDALS #23181 DOCTOR FRITZ TODT SILVER MEDAL WITH MINIATURE STICK PIN FOR LAPEL
This set of
the medal and lapel stick pin are very impressive. The medal is
a fairly large, heavy item measuring about 2 ½-inches by
approximately 1 ¾-inches. It features a large Party type
eagle with half open wings, resting over a box with the raised
out name, "Doctor Fritz Todt". The box is positioned
over a gear wheel which is vaulted out of a cog wheel design.
This depiction is very, very impressive. The reverse has a fairly
large pin which is a tapered flat type with barrel fitting and
a cup device which keeps it closed. The pin runs the entire length
of this large medal. It is quite heavy and therefore, I could
see why it would need this long pin. The stick pin which comes
with it is an exact duplicate in every way. It is fitted to a
stick pin which has a serrated body so that it would not come
loose from the wearer's lapel. These awards are quite rare and
this is the first set that I have had the pleasure to offer.
MEDALS #25023 CASED GOLD MOTHERS CROSS
This
case of the Mothers Cross is a dark blue leatherette. It
shows some signs of age, having a few scuffs here and there, but
overall it is still in good shape. The center area has an embossed
replica of the medal in gold. The inside lid is a padded silk
having, the makers name at the bottom in black. It is marked,
R.Houschild, Pforzheim. The inside area is an off-white
velvet, which is split in the middle to accommodate the ribbon.
The medal is a beautiful enameled cross, having the lower leg
being longer than the three upper examples. The cross exhibits
a blue enameled center, with white border. These colors are separated
by gilded narrow borderlines. In the center of the medal is a
sunburst style backing, with a round medallion, exhibiting an
immobile black swastika on white enamel field. There is a golden
border around the field, which has the purpose of the medal, which
in English is, The German Mother. Attached to the
medal is the original blue and white stripped, ribbed satin, ribbon.
This ribbon is the long type and would have been worn around the
neck. The reverse of the medal is engraved with the inception
date of, 16 Dezember 1938. Below this, is a facsimile
of Adolph Hitlers signature. This medal was awarded for
German mothers, who bore eight or more children. Quite an accomplishment!
MEDALS #25857 REICH DAY PARTY BADGE 1935
This round
medallion style Party Day badge is slightly larger than a 50¢
piece. It features a raised out depiction of the Führer in
the center. Looking to the Führers right is a raised-out
bust of a Wehrmacht soldier, and to the left is a bust of a SA/SS
man wearing a kepi. Above the three figures is the early style,
half-open winged, political eagle. This eagle has outstanding
definition looking to the viewers right, and clutching a
wreathed mobile swastika. Along the lower half edge is the raised-out
wording, Reichsparteitag 1935. On the reverse there
is a stamped maker mark which is, LN over the numbers,
1790. At the bottom area, in an arch, is the raised-out
name of the maker, Lauer-Mürnberg. The top of
the medallion has a safety pin-type clasp. I dont know how
common these Party Day medallions are, but this one is a nice
one, and I dont remember seeing one in the past.
MEDALS #25707 1ST CLASS IRON CROSS
This 1st Class
Iron Cross still retains most of its silvered edges. The serrations
are good and crisp, and the black covering across the surfaces
is all still there. The Cross features a raised-out mobile swastika
in the center, and the date, 1939, at the lower leg.
The reverse of the example also has fairly bright silvering. The
pin is a coke bottle style with barrel hinge and cup hook. The
pin is stamped on the back surface, 26. A very nice
Iron Cross here.
MEDALS #25709 1ST CLASS IRON CROSS
This 1st Class
Iron Cross is a fine looking item, having deeply patinated silver
edges. The serrated surfaces are extremely crisp. All of the blackening
remains on the inner surfaces. There is a fine raised-out mobile
swastika in the center, and at the lower leg of the Cross is the
date raised out, 1939. The reverse of the Cross is
also deeply patinated, with the exception of the inner center
areas, which still show some silver frosting. There is a barrel
hinge with cup hook catch, and the pin is a coke bottle shape.
This pin is stamped, 15 on the reverse side. A very
fine Iron Cross here.
MEDALS #25708 LATE PARACHUTE BADGE
This Parachute
Badge is of zinc construction, and it is a wartime late made example.
The details throughout, though, are extremely crisp and this badge
appears to possibly have been unissued. The badge consists of
an oval wreath, which half is composed of overlapping oak leaves,
and the other half composed of laurel wreathing. The oval is open
in the center. Crossing on a 45 degree dive angle is an eagle,
which clutches an open swastika in his talons. The detail to the
bird, head, feathering, and other features is outstanding. The
reverse of the badge has a barrel hinge, with straight pin and
catch. The rivets which retain the diving bird are the style which
are not dressed on the back. (This is typical of the late issue
pieces). This badge is unmarked. A fine original example here.
MEDALS #23026 CASED NSDAP FORTY YEAR FAITHFUL SERVICE CROSS
The Case of
this example is a red textured type having a gold wreath with
the number "40" inside on the lid. The box itself shows
only nominal age and is in good condition. The push button and
hinge assembly are magnetic. The inner lid opens up to a padded
white silk fabric. It is marked at the bottom with the maker and
town, "Deschler and Sohn / München". In the bottom
of the case it is covered with a deep purple velvet having a split
portion so there is something to catch the medal separating it
from the ribbon. The medal is a beautiful gold Maltese cross with
a wreath between the cross legs, and an immobile black enamel
swastika in the center. The reverse is the same, except the swastika
is replaced with the three line slogan, "Für / Treue
/ Dienste". The original blue lined satin ribbon is complete
with a brass style pin. A fine item here and a fairly difficult
cased medal to find.
MEDALS #22672 STICKPIN FOR FORTY YEAR WORLD WAR I VETERAN
This stickpin
is a round gilded type which has borders of oak leafing. At the
top is a circle with the number, "40", inside. In the
center of the gilded circle is an applied replica of the Imperial
Iron Cross. The gilding is perfect across this medallion. The
pin has the usual serrated surfaces.
MEDALS #22675 STICKPIN FOR DAF WORKER
This stickpin
is all in an aluminum coated material. It features a cogwheel
device with a swastika in the center area. The swastika has a
checkered texture to it. The pin has serrations on it.
