Der Deutsche Hof (also seen as Der Deutscher Hof Hotel on some pieces) was Hitler's favorite hotel and was located in the center of Nuremberg. The Führer always stayed there when he visited this medieval city and it became his headquarters during the Party rallies held each September.
The hotel was so grateful for Hitler's endorsement and consistent presence that it had various flatware and serving pieces produced with the NSDAP symbols and swastikas. These pieces are normally of silver plate.

DEUTSCHERHOF #48404 Deutscher Hof Lobster Pick
This lobster pick is a very rare item and is the first example I have seen from the Deutscher Hof. It measures a length of 8 inches. It has the conventional two prongs at the pick end and in the center is a flare out portion which depicts a lobster with claws on both sides. On the one side the handle is engraved “Der Deutscher Hof” and also has the party wreath with swastika. The lobster pick is also hallmarked “BSF100” which would indicate that it is a silver plated high quality example. Very rare item here.

DEUTSCHERHOF #48254C Full-Sized Coffee Pot From Deutscher Hof Hotel
This large coffee pot is the first example that I have seen coming from the Deutscher Hof Hotel. This hotel was Hitler's favorite and he frequently stayed there during road trips and also during the annual Parteitag Rallies in September. Since the hotel was owned by the NSDAP, a special suite was maintained for Hitler. The pot measures about 7 inches high and is equipped with hinged lid having a round opening knob at the top center. The handle is the conventional ear shape with standard pouring spout. The pot tapers downward and then flairs outward for the rounded base. Deeply rolled into the obverse center of the pot is, "Der Deutscher Hof". The pot is in an untouched state, never having been cleaned. It has developed a fine even black patination. Deeply rolled into the lower bottom base is the round-shape wreath around a mobile swastika, being the symbol used on dining flatware and table pieces in hotels owned by the NSDAP. Below the wreath is the contents level of the pot, "0,75L". On the lower rim, the number "16" over a "V" letter is stamped, which is most likely the pot's model number. On the upper rim of the pot's bottom is marked the maker and silver content, "Gebr Hepp 90". The "90" means the pot was silver-plated. This pot is compleltely dentfree and remains in very fine condition. A very rare item.

DEUTSCHERHOF #46149 Der Deutsche Hof Dinner Fork
This dinner fork is fairly simple in design, with some subtle scalloping and beveling. It measures about 8 inches long, with four straight tines.
The end of the obverse handle is marked with the usual wreathed swastika seen on this type of piece. The detail throughout this embellishment remains clear and crisp. The surface of the fork shows quite a bit of honest wear, which I supposed is to be expected from a common fork given that it undoubtedly saw much more usage than the more exotic utensils.
The reverse of the fork is marked "BSF 100", "Platura", and "Der Deutsche Hof".
A nice example here.

DEUTSCHERHOF #39414 Der Deutscher Hof Hotel Five Piece Flatware Set
This set of DH flatware consists of a knife, a fork, a spoon, a fish knife and fish fork. These examples do show some wear, but they are rarely seen and very desirable. Each piece is marked on the front with a wreathed mobile swastika. The reverse of each is marked “BSF 100 PLATURA”. This indicates the pieces are silver plated. Each is also marked “Der Deutschser Hof”.
This silverware was ordered after the hotel was purchased by the Party in 1937, to reflect the new “political status” of the establishment. A fine opportunity to acquire a rarely seen full set of period flatware with a strong connection to history of the Party.
Excellent. $995.00
DEUTSCHERHOF #37128 Deustcher Hof Ice Cream Spoon
This DH Ice Cream Spoon are very long, measuring over 8 inches long. The spoon itself is about the size of a teaspoon, but with a long handle. Today we would probably think of this as an iced tea spoon or something to that effect. While the Germans are known to enjoy a good “teetied” I'm not sure they took it cold.
These spoons are plain on the obverse. The reverse is marked, in a rectangle, “Hotel Deustcher-Hof Nürnberg”. The spoon is also marked with the maker mark “Wellner Sohne 24”. The “24” would probably indicate that the spoon is silver plated.
A very nice item here, and a great artifact to add to a collection of Deustcher Hof silver.
Excellent Plus. $175.00
