BELT AND BELT BUCKLE SECTION--Part III

BELTS - 072 - NAVAL ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER'S ALUMINUM BUCKLE

This beautiful buckle has been finished in aluminum and is complete with its original keeper. It is identical to the example shown in the Angolia belt buckle book on page 112. The round buckle features laurel leaves running throughout the outside perimeter in an uneven natural pattern. These leaves have outstanding detail to their veining. The center area of the buckle is lined and vaulted. Raised out is a highly detailed fouled-anchor depiction. The reverse of the buckle is marked with the raised out circled letters, "FLL". A very choice example which does not appear to have been issued.
Mint (22438) $150.00

BELTS - 073 - ARMY ENLISTED MAN'S BUCKLE

This buckle is a steel base and has a heavy coat of olive drab green paint. The rectangular buckle is plain with a double circle area in the center. The two roped circles have oak leaves at the bottom and the top features the raised out slogan, "Gott Mit Uns". In the center area there is a highly vaulted Wehrmacht closed winged eagle which clutches a mobile swastika. The reverse of this buckle is marked, "KA43". The paint is excellent throughout and is in nearly 100% condition showing only nominal age. There are a couple of runs in the paint but this is probably to be expected for a late wartime made example.
Excellent Plus, Plus (22437) $125.00

BELTS - 074 - RAILWAY OFFICER'S BUCKLE

This buckle is produced in a nickel material and has a matte field gray finish. It appears identical to the example shown in the Angolia New Buckle Book on page 490. The buckle is round and has two circles which are bordered with rope-like designs. Raised out of these circles is the name of the organization, "Deutsche Reichsbahn". The unoccupied areas in the circle are ribbed. In the center area it becomes vaulted and is pebbled. Pressed out of the center is a winged railway wheel which is positioned over a mobile vaulted swastika. The detail is exceptional throughout this unmarked buckle. A rarely seen example.
Near Mint (22439) $650.00

BELTS - 075 - DAF BUCKLE

This buckle is a rectangular type and is of all aluminum construction. It features plain surfaces, except for each corner, where there is a boss-like device. In the center is a cog wheel which is raised out, and in the center of the cog wheel, is a mobile swastika. The finish of this buckle appears to be the natural aluminum type. The buckle is marked on the reverse with a raised out, "RZM M4/28".
Mint (22440) $165.00(#122607)

BELTS - 076 - GOLD PRISON OFFICIAL

This rarely seen belt buckle appears to be identical to the one in Angolia New Buckle Book, page 454, center. It is made of an aluminum base construction and has a gilt finish. The gilding is worn a little bit on the high points, but it still remains at least at 98%. This round buckle has a vaulted overlapping wreath of laurel leaves. There are berries throughout these leaves, seemingly in the same pattern as the Angolia book piece. There is a beaded circle on the inside rim of the wreath which separates the beveled center of the buckle. Here, there is a raised out open winged eagle which looks to the viewer's left. This eagle has a checkered breast and grasps a wreath with a mobile swastika in its talons. The detail is slightly better than the piece shown in the book. This unmarked example is identical (in the back) to the book piece. It is of two piece construction. An extremely rare buckle which will be missing from most collections. Would be great displayed with a Justice Official's sword.
Excellent Plus (22455) $1495.00

BELTS - 077 - NSDAP YOUTH BUCKLE

This Youth buckle is made of steel, being nickel-plated. It is identical to the example shown in Angolia on page 289, upper. The buckle is a rectangular shape with trimmed corners. In the center is a raised oval which features a vaulted mobile swastika in the middle. There is a black background surrounding the swastika and the oval circle. Where the ovaled area juts upward, there is a ribbed frame. The catch of this example is “DRGM” marked. These kind of buckle are not commonly seen. The nickeling is showing age, but it is still there at approximately 90%.
Excellent (22436) $175.00(#122607)

BELTS - 078 - HUNTING ASSOCIATION GREEN BELT

This green leather belt is a real beauty measuring about 1-7/8 in width having a nice green finish on the obverse and brown on the reverse. There is no buckle but it does have the two sliding belt loops. The belt is stamped on the reverse, "104". Measuring its length it is a fairly good size which should fit a 42-inch waist. One of the reverse pieces of leather is beautifully stamped in gold, "Luneschloss Solingen". In the center is a three legged style swastika. This is a very desirable maker and a rarely seen belt. If you have a proper buckle this would make a great rare combination.
Excellent Plus, Plus (21969) $250.00

BELTS - 079 - HITLER YOUTH BUCKLE

This rectangular shaped buckle is a steel base metal having an aluminum coating. The detail features two roped circles which have the raised out Hitler Youth motto in between. There is a Hitler Youth eagle which clutches a diamond with raised out swastika. There is a little bit of rust on this buckle around the center of the bird and also a little on a couple of the motto letters. The reverse of the buckle is marked “RZM4-44.” This buckle shows a little overall age but still is a good original.
Excellent (22659) $95.00

BELTS - 080 - EARLY NSDAP YOUTH BUCKLE

This buckle is a quite small example being rectangular and looking nearly identical to the one shown in an Angolia on Page 295. The buckle itself is a nickel plated steel, and in the center, there is a raised out brass wreath with swastika. The wreath is composed of laurel leafing and the swastika has backgrounds of dotted patterns. The swastika is a mobile style and it has smooth surfaces. The back of the buckle has the type of catch with teeth to hold against a boy’s belt. There is some rust on the nickel, but a lot of it would clean up.
Excellent (22660) $50.00(#122607)

BELTS - 081 - BUNDESWEHR BUCKLE

This all nickel buckle is slightly larger than the norm. It is a rectangular Enlisted Man type. The surfaces are pebbled throughout with a smooth border. The center area has the double circle style with a raised out Weimar type Prussian eagle in the center. The eagle is looking to the viewer's left and his feet are open and outward. Around the eagle is the slogan, "Einigkeit. Recht. Freiheit." The original brown leather tab is attached to this buckle. The tab is unmarked. I understand these buckles were worn by the post-war Bundeswehr German army.
Excellent Plus (23290) $50.00

BELTS - 082 - IMPERIAL ARMY BUCKLE

This Enlisted Man's buckle for the Imperial Army, is a standard rectangular shape being painted a field gray color. The paint is about 98% showing just minor age. This buckle is a steel base. It has the two roped circular lines with vaulted center. In the center is a Bavarian style crown. The two lines enclose the slogan, "Gott Mit Uns". At the bottom of the slogan is a set of laurel leaves. A nice Imperial buckle.
Excellent Plus (23293) $50.00

BELTS - 086 - 25288 – LARGE SIZED POLITICAL LEADER’S BELT

This Political Leader’s belt is the Havana brown color and it shows a little bit of age, but overall, is in excellent condition to the leather. It is interesting to note that the belt itself was made larger by the factory. The inside area, which normally contains the holes for the buckle, has been factory sewn to the end of the belt, in order to provide an extension for this fairly large wearer. I measured the belt and it accommodates approximately a forty-six inch waist! This Political Leader was quite into the German sausage and sauerkraut! It is interesting to see how this larger size was accommodated for this man, without having to produce a whole different belt. Assumedly, the factory cut these belts only to certain maximum lengths and this man’s gut obviously did not fit into those specifications. The buckle is the standard Political Leader’s aluminum type with 99.9% original gild covering its surfaces. This buckle is marked on the reverse, “RZM/M104/116”. The matching gilded aluminum catch is marked “RZM/M4-30”. (I have noticed over the last year or so handling Political Leader belts that quite often the catch and buckle bear different RZM markings). This is a great belt for someone out there having an extremely large sized, Political Leader’s tunic to match.
Excellent Plus Plus $350.00

BELTS - 088 - 25173 – LUFTWAFFE ENLISTED MAN’S BUCKLE WITH LEATHER TAB

This Luftwaffe Enlisted Man’s buckle is a molded aluminum type having pebbled inish throughout. In the center area, there is a raised- out ellipse of overlapping laurel leaves. These laurel leaves are nicely detailed, having good berry depiction. The center of the wreath is also pebbled and features a raised out eagle which flies to the right, clutching a mobile swastika. The detail throughout the bird is excellent, except for the middle section, where it appears as though the buckle was possibly scraped against something and has lost some of its definition in the feathered area of the left wing. Other than this, though, the buckle is in great shape. The reverse is marked, “N & H”. Attached to the buckle is a brown leather tab. The tab is Luftwaffe property stamped, “LBA” and also bears the double ellipse circle having a Ludenscheid producer’s name, and in the center, is the date “1939”. Other than the scrape over the wing, this is a fine example. Excellent Plus $175.00

BELTS - 090 - 25321 – UNISSUED SA DOUBLE CLAW BUCKLE WITH TAG

Attached to one of the edges is the original issue tag. This tag is a manilla type, showing mild age, and a large double RZM circle on the reverse. The obverse has the printed German name for the double buckle “Zweidornschnalle”. Beneath this, is the standard terminology used by the RZM, and there is a printing of the line numbers, “416589”. This RAD rectangular buckle is an all aluminum type. It has a pebbled surface throughout and the center area has a raised double circle border. Within the double circles are lots of line shapes. The inside of the belt is rougher texture leather but is also in choice condition. One end of the belt is marked, "90", which is the size. This belt is equipped with the proper hardware with the gilded catch being marked, "RZM M4/39". The fine buckle is a very heavy gilded type and it has near 100% gild on the outside. The reverse of this buckle is marked, "RZM M4/43". This is a very good-looking complete rigging and would look great on an appropriate Political Leader's tunic.

The NSBO buckles are fairly rare to begin with, but this one has exceptional condition, really making it nice. It is a rectangular shaped buckle being made of brass. In the center it is pressed out and is silver-plated. The silvering is all there. This is something which is very rarely seen. The center area has a oak leaf style border with pebbled surfaces on the inner part. Vaulted out of the center area is the NSBO gear wheel along with a fist holding a hammer with immobile swastika in the center of the tool. This is a great looking depiction and in about the best shape you will find. It is the same as the example shown in the Angolia Belt Buckle Book on page 333. A good one here!
