ARMBANDS, INSIGNIA AND RELATED CLOTH ITEMS -- PART III

ARM - 138 - FIREMAN'S ARMBAND

This armband is made of a fairly course harder fabric which is red in color and has a textured surface. It is almost as hard as a burlap material, but not quite. This armband has a "V" design which runs almost its whole forward length. The "V" design is done in black and white cord. Centered in the "V" letter is a nickel set of crossed fire axes with a helmet in the center. The backing of this metal insignia has a green wool material sewn to the inside of the armband. This armband shows little to no usage being sewn up the rear. It is a great looker and would be a fine addition to any Fire collection display.
Near Mint (23366) $250.00

ARM - 150 - SS COTTON ARMBAND

The SS cotton armbands are fairly rare as they were used mostly in the early days and were worn with the SA / SS brown shirt. This armband shows some age and usage, but it is 100% original. The cotton still retains its good bright red colors. There are a few minor pin hole size flaws in the reverse of it, but the obverse is totally perfect. The armband has the two black lines sewn on the edges and the center features a sewn white field. Sewn to the white field is a black swastika. This armband is actually five-piece construction! A lot of work here. The field shows some age browning and a minor stain at about 3 o'clock, but other than that, the front of this armband is in choice condition. There are also remaining threads where this armband was tacked to a shirt. These cotton examples are quite rare and this would make a great display with your SS dagger.
Excellent (23008) $375.00

ARM - 158 - SLEEVE AND MATCHING RAILROAD SERVICE ARMBANDS

This pair of armbands were apparently worn together, one at the top of the arm and the other at the sleeve area. They consist of a dark gray wool fabric measuring approximately 3 ½-inches wide. The upper arm example has twin narrow bullion tress sewn along the edges. In the center portion is the word, "Bahndienst." This word means “rail service” and the letters are formed using a cotton-like raised out thread. This armband is sewn up the rear and is in perfect condition. The lower sleeve band is made of the same wool fabric and also has narrow bullion tress sewn at both edges. There are three letters on the obverse of this armband, "HvD". These letters are made using the same bullion tress that was used on the edges. This armband is also sewn up the rear. This is a rare set here and would look great with display of a Railway dagger. Its exact purpose is unknown to me.
Near Mint (23317) $250.00

ARM - 168 - ARMY ADJUTANTS DRESS AIGULETTE CORDS

This set of aluminum cords was for wear by the adjutant (assistant) to another officer. These cords are made of weaved bullion and are in totally perfect condition. They are all set to mount on your tunic or would make for a great display.
Near Mint (23324) $175.00

ARM - 176 - LUFTWAFFE SIGNALS OPERATOR ARM PATCH

This round shaped patch is made of gray wool material, which has a lightning bolt with white weave in the center. This signifies the branch of service for a Luftwaffe radio operator. A good display item here or sew it on your tunic.
Excellent Plus (23623) $25.00

ARM - 178 - STAHLHELM / SAAR PATCH

This patch is a colorful item which is bevo sewn on a white background. It which measures approximately 2 ½ inches by 4 inches. The depiction is in a shield shape. At the top is the black district of "Saar", and beneath, is an Imperial-like helmet. The helmet rests on a red weave, and below this, are the colorful shields of Bavaria featuring blue checkering and a split black and white shield. I assume this shield represents the Saar area. I imagine this patch would have been worn after the annexation of this area in 1935.
Near Mint (23535) $65.00

ARM - 179 - NAVAL ENGINEER SLEEVE PATCH

This sleeve patch is an oval shaped type which is about 4 inches at the wide diameter. It is made of a hard naval blue wool material. Applied to the center obverse, is a fairly large gilded metal brass anchor which has a gear wheel superimposed over it. This is the patch for a Naval Engineer and would have been worn on the sleeve. It is quite good looking and would be a great display item.
Near Mint (23669) $55.00

ARM - 180 - NAVAL NCO SHOULDER BOARD

This NCO shoulder board has a backing of dark naval blue wool material. The edges feature a sewn fine gold / yellow color textured tress sewn around. The center area has a gilded brass anchor, and below the anchor, are two aluminum pips, and above the anchor, is one pip. I assume this to be a petty officer's shoulder board. It is great looking and will go good as a display item.
Near Mint (23668) $55.00
