ACCOU #15816 ARMY OFFICERS HANGERS
A fine set of Army Officer hangers. These hangers are fitted with standard issue hardware. These unmarked fittings show expected wear, but time has definitely not taken away from the overall quality. Standard closed box clip, ornate rings and slides with oak leave decoration. Tight, pebbled snap clips. Fabulously mint, multicolored, brocade from top to bottom. A spectacular deep field green backing. Both sides are still brilliant and fresh. A great accouterment for any Army dagger.

The lower hardware still has most of its silvering and consists of ovaled buckles with oak leaves matching the leaves of the slides. The lower snaps are the push-in variety having pebbled surfaces and rectangular tops. There is virtually no wear on the reverse of these straps. A good-looking set here with the rarely seen leather tops.
Near Mint. $195.00

ACCOU #29949 ARMY NCO BAYONET TRODDEL
This bayonet troddel is the typical type having a green strapping with triple matching designs running the length of both edges. The knot has been on a bayonet before but there is no fraying on the strapping. The slide and stem are made up of a gray weave with “V” designs of green thread. There is some fraying on the reverse of the slide but the stem is still in good condition. ACCOU #29765 DIPLOMATIC / GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL HANGING STRAPS
This set of hanging straps is about as nice as you will ever see. The brocade fronts are still crisp and clean having fine herringbone texture to their design. The reverse of the straps is a dark blue high pile velvet. These straps would have been the first style which was originally made for the visit of the Diplomatic Corp. to see Mussolini in Rome. The hardware of these straps consists of a silvered aluminum snap clip at the top which is unmarked. The rectangular buckles and slides have outstanding raised out oak leaf designs and the silvering is still there at 100%. It is interesting to note that even the two hasps which go through the grommets have their silvering. The lower snaps are the push-in type and they are smooth surface variety having rectangular tops. Even most of the silvering is still present on these straps which give you an idea of the condition these hangers are in. If you have a choice diplo or GO dagger looking for something to hang it on these straps should serve your purpose.
Mint Minus. $2695.00
ACCOU #29809 UNDER-THE-TUNIC CANVAS SWORD STRAP / HANGER
This canvas sword strap shows some mild soiling but it has no fraying or problems and it is complete with a buckle for adjustment. Attached at the end of the hanger is a leather tongue shaped accoutrement which has a nickel snap clip attached to it. The snap clip is in perfect condition and is not marked being nickel-plated. The leather backing tongue is also a nice fine brown color professionally stitched. This accoutrement was made to hold the wearer’s sword. The strap was worn over the shoulder and a frog was attached to the snap clip which retained the sword. A nice accoutrement here getting difficult to find.
Excellent Plus. $95.00ACCOU #25580 EARLY RAD EM HEWER HANGER
This is the early style RAD Hewer hanger that was worn initially when the hewer was introduced in 1935. It is a brown leather construction having a buckle and hasp which would control the opening and closing of the hanger. The hanger was secured to the hewer, slipping over the “u” fitting, and the clasp and buckle closed accordingly. This hanger shows some usage, but the bottom securing area is still complete and is not worn through. A fine item for an early heavy nickel example.ACCOU #15257 ARMY OFFICER HANGERS
A nice pair of nicotine patined Army hangers. These hangers have a standard unmarked box clip which still has about 40% frosting. Oak leave decorated ring and slides. Fine tight pebbled deluxe snap clips with the Assman trademark stamped on one. There is about 50% wear on the front brocade, but is still holds some luster. The backing consists of a minty fine deep green field. An out of the ordinary looking set of h angers that could be a perfect match for that smoke laden Army Officer dagger.ACCOU #29460C RAD BULLET HANGER
This bullet hanger is a good, long example that measures about 11-inches in full length. It is the type that has the belt loop connected to the lower section via a thick wire bracket. The black leather has good sturdy stitches holding this example together. The lower portion has the black colored bullet shaped leather which protects the wearer’s uniform from the swing of the heavy hewer. There is also a good nickel-plated snap clip which is marked on the reverse in an ellipse “H & Co” and “37”. The reverse of the hanger has brown leather on the lower section. It is maker marked stamped into the leather, “Kern Kläger & Co 1938 Berlin”. In addition, in black rubber stamping is the unit marking of this RAD wearer’s section, “3/386”. An outstanding RAD bullet hanger ready to be put on your choice conditioned hewer.
Near Mint. $550.00ACCOU #29459C RAD OFFICER HANGERS
This set of RAD officer’s hangers has very good tan leather straps. These straps are very supple and have no rotting problems. The hangers at their longest length are about 9 ½-inches. The hardware is the aluminum plated type. The upper closed clip is stamped with a capital letter, “A” on the reverse. The rectangular buckles and slides have pebbled surfaces as do the push-in style snap clips at the lower area. These snap clips are the style which have rounded upper areas. A fine set of RAD hangers here that you can trust will last for many years into the future.ACCOU #29463C ARMY GENERAL OFFICER HANGING STRAPS
This set of Army hangers shows some age and some wear but they appear to be definitely a set of army general’s straps. The hardware throughout has about 50% of the original gilt still clinging to the surfaces. The bullion shows some age and soiling but for the most part here is no fray. The velvet on the reverse is also in fairly good condition with no wear through. This set of straps would go nicely with an early dagger showing some wear and also having good quality. These general’s straps are priced reasonably.ACCOU #29464C LUFTWAFFE DELUXE HANGERS WITH LEATHER TABS
This set of deluxe Luftwaffe hangers appears to perhaps been worn by a general as there is lots of gilt residue throughout the deluxe fittings. We see this a lot on Luftwaffe hangers though and I am more of the opinion that it is possibly lacquer that has turned color over the years rather than gilt. Either way though this set of hangers would look good on a fine Luftwaffe dagger with etched blade or something of this caliber. The hangers are the short style measuring only about 10 ½-inches in length. The straps are a fine gray brocade with silver twin lines running the length. The reverse is a good purple velvet showing only modest wear. The straps are retained by fine brown leather tabs. The mounts are the deluxe type throughout. The snap clip features oak leaf and acorn decoration and the reverse is marked, “RZM U.E. 10”. The rectangular buckles and slides have fine oak leaf designs and the lower snaps are the deluxe type with push-up style. They have oak leaf decorated fronts and the reverse is marked, “DRGM”. An outstanding set of Luftwaffe straps here.
Near Mint. $350.00ACCOU #29465C LUFTWAFFE OFFICER DELUXE HANGERS
This set of deluxe hangers is very long measuring nearly 12-inches in length. The brocade is in choice condition having fine purple textured backing with twin silver lines running the length. The reverse purple velvet is also in choice condition showing little to no wear. These straps are retained by fold over tabs which have a rivet construction. The tabs have oak leaves stamped into their obverse and at the top are DRGM stamped. Most impressive here! The snap clip at the top is a deluxe oak leafed type and it is marked on the reverse, “DRGM”. The rectangular buckles and slides have good detail to the oak leaves and the deluxe lower snaps have the push up style retainage with oak leaf sprigs highlighting the obverse. On the reverse they are “DRGM” marked. An outstanding set of hangers here which would really go nice with a high class 2nd model Luftwaffe dagger.
Near Mint. $350.00ACCOU #29467C TeNo OFFICER BROCADE HANGERS
This set of TeNo officer brocade hangers measures about 10-inches overall in length. Looking at the reverse of the straps I can see where they have been shortened by about an inch. Where the straps are turned over at the back they also have been period stitched so that they are properly secured. The straps were worn this way as the other folds are permanently formed in place. This black brocade features twin sets of aluminum lines running the length. There is little to no wear on the obverse and the same is true to the reverse high pile black velvet. The clip at the top is an aluminum closed style. The buckles are around having the gear wheel surfaces that we see used for TeNo. The slides below have a slight darkening to them to match the factory blackening on the recesses of the buckles. The lower snaps are the push-in pebbled type and they show minor wear to the areas where they touch the dagger. This is an outstanding opportunity here to acquire an ultra rare set of teno brocade hangers. These straps will go nicely with a near mint to mint conditioned officer’s dagger.
Near Mint. $2,995.00ACCOU #29024 RAD OFFICER HANGING STRAPS
These officer straps are the typical tan colored leather. They measure overall about 9-inches. The leather is still in very sound condition with no rot or problems. This leather only shows normal age. The top closed bracket is the type that we usually see and it is stamped on the center area reverse with the large, “NE” indicating this hardware was made by Assmann. The rectangular buckles are the aluminum type as are the slides and push-in style lower snaps. These fittings all have a raised pebbled finish. Most of the pebbled finish is worn from the lower snaps. These snaps are the type that have rounded tops. A good set of hanging straps here for a nice conditioned RAD officer’s dagger.
ACCOU #28972C WHITE BAYONET FROG
This bayonet frog appears to be the size that would be used for a butcher type bayonet or one with a larger proportioned scabbard. The frog has been coated with a white finish. Overall the leather is somewhat hard and could use a little bit of nurturing to soften it up. The frog very much resembles the size of a Red Cross hewer type. It is retained by four rivets which have also been whitened in the process. The reverse upper area has been stamped with the maker marking and date, “A. Fischer / Berlin C.2 / 1937”. These white finished bayonet frogs were used for honor guard duty such as the Feldhernhalle memorial, the honor temples or even guard duty at the Reich Chancellery. A rare accoutrement here.
ACCOU #28957C WALL SWORD BAG
This sword bag is a desirable rust color and it measures 40-inches in length. It is in good shape throughout having a fine cloth wool enforcement border sewn throughout all of the edges. The top portion has the pinching shear configuration and it has a string which acts as a closure device. There are a couple of moth bites here and there but nothing severe. The lower area of one side has a splint in it but this could be very easily remedied. A nice looking wall sword bag here which you could use as a backdrop with a mint sword or if you like keep your own sword in the bag and preserve it accordingly. This is a very nice accoutrement that few people have in their collection.
ACCOU #28707 23cm LUFTWAFFE PORTEPEE
This portepee has been on a dagger and is still set in the curves of its original knot. It is the wide cord type and it shows just the slightest of usage, but absolutely no fraying. A good original knot here ready to go on to your Luftwaffe dagger.
ACCOU #28708 LUFTWAFFE HANGER WITH LEATHER TOPS
This set of Luftwaffe Hangers has deluxe fittings throughout. The upper snap clip is the style which is RZM “UE10” marked on the reverse. The company that made this particular fitting RZM marked the fitting, because they also used it for mounts involving Political daggers. This mount has the deluxe oak leaf and acorn sprigs, and has a little bit of a gold hue to the metal. The rectangular buckles below and slides have the oak leaf motif, and the snaps are the deluxe push-up type, having the oak leaf decoration with the “DRGM” stamping on the reverse. The straps are retained at the top via matching brown leather tabs, which have a nice pleasing grain to them. The straps themselves are the traditional blue/purple fabric having twin aluminum bullion lines running the length. The reverse gray velvet is in good shape, showing a little bit of wear in one spot, but nothing objectionable. Nice hangers here.
ACCOU #28709 LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS HANGERS
This set of hangers is fairly long, measuring almost 12 inches overall. The hardware is the basic type, having the “DRGM” mark snap clip, with the rest of the clip being plain. The snaps below are the push-in type, but have pebbled surfaces. They exactly match the matte finish of the upper clip. The rectangular buckles and slides have the oak leaf motif. The buckles are the type that you don’t see too often, having the more rounded edges. The straps are the traditional blue/purple color, having twin bullion lines that run the length. The velvet backs are in fine condition, showing only the most nominal of wear. A fine set of straps here.
ACCOU #28704C WHITE FINISHED "Y" STRAPS FOR LAH HONOR GUARD
This set of “Y” straps is the type that was finished in white, and was used by the Liebstandarte Adolph Hitler when doing guard duty at the Reich Chancellery, or other duties involving Hitler’s offices or personal protection. The straps have aluminum buckles and clips that are marked “DNC”. The white straps are finished in brown on the reverse. They are deeply stamped, “A. Fischer/Berlin C.2SS/1937”. This is your chance to acquire an extremely rare set of LAH White Honor Guard Straps.
ACCOU #28705C LARGE WHITE SWORD HANGER FOR LAH HONOR GUARD
This Large White Sword Hanger has a square bottom, which measures about 4 ½ by 5 ½ inches, with a strap at the top having an aluminum “D” ring. The lower portion of the squared hanger is equipped with a belt and hasp section, which connected to the “U” bracket of an SS degen. This sword hanger was used by the Liebstandarte Adolph Hitler while on honor guard duty. The reverse of the hanger is deeply stamped, “A.Fischer/Berlin C.2/1937/SS”. The reverse of the hanger is in brown leather. This would be a great accoutrement to hook up with your SS Officer or NCO degen. A very rare item here.
ACCOU #28825 POLICE SWORD TRODDEL
This police sword troddel is the large type that was also used on police degens. It has the wider style leather strapping which has three sets of aluminum stitching having a red highlight stitch in the center. The slide is a leather thong type with red trim and the stem is the flat variety having crochet-like aluminum brocade covering. The ovaled knot is of all aluminum bullion and the stuffing is of red, white and black thread. This knot is in mint condition still having its original tie string around it. The leather is still quite supple though and should be easy to either tie on to a sword or put next to a sword as a decoration. A beautiful original troddel here.

ACCOU #28645 ARMY OFFICER HANGERS
This set of Army Officer Hangers has excellent deluxe hardware, but the straps themselves are mostly worn out. The brocade straps are still fairly good on the obverse, but on the reverse the velvet backing is fairly well frayed, with not much material left here. However, the hardware on these hangers would be excellent for someone who either wanted to restore this set, or possibly use the hardware on another set. This hardware is the silver plated deluxe type. The box clip at the top is the style with raised-out oak leaves, and has the patent marking “DRGM” stamped at the top. The straps are retained to the bracket via a set of aluminum style tabs that are bent over, and are both rivet held. Both of these tabs are marked with stamped oak leaf sprigs and acorns, and also the patent design “DRGM” is stamped into the upper portion of the tabs. The oval buckles and slides have good slivering, and depict the raised-out oak leaf style. The lower snaps are the deluxe push-up type, and they also have oak leaf sprigs on their obverse. The reverse of each one is stamped “DRGM”. A good set of straps here for parts.

ACCOU #19575 EARLY RAD E.M. HEWER HANGER
This early,
short-style, hanger is of all black leather construction. It is
the style with small strap equipped with oval buckle and hasp
to keep it closed. It shows quite a bit of usage at the fold over
point, but about half of the leather still remains. This will
work fine on your early Hewer, assuming you are not going to wear
it. The small black retainer loop is missing from this rig, but
does not effect the serviceability. It is identical to the one
shown in wear on page 36 of the Johnson Accouterment Book.
ACCOU #26583C POLICE PORTEPEE WITH WIDE CLOTH STRAPPING
This police portepee is the style that has the wide cloth strapping. The cloth strapping has three sets of bullion stitching sewn the length. The center stitching has red highlights. The slide is of black cloth material enhanced with bullion and red. The stem is the crochet like bullion fabric and you can see the metal beneath. The large oval ball is of all yarn like bullion having stuffing of red, white and black. A choice police sword portepee ready to put on your officer’s degen.
ACCOU #4519 UNDER THE TUNIC ARMY SWORD HARNESS
This under the tunic army sword harness is complete with canvas strapping having an adjustable buckle and a leather frog accoutrement sewn to the harness. The frog is an hour glass shape and is equipped with a nickel-plated snap clip. The snap clip is riveted to the leather frog. The obverse of the frog is a rich brown color and the reverse of it is a green leather color. These harnesses were worn beneath a tunic in order to suspend a sword through the slit below the pocket flap.
ACCOU #28507 UNDER THE TUNIC SWORD HARNESS
This under the tunic sword harness is made of a soft cotton fabric having a texture to it. At the halfway point there is a brown leather loop with D ring sewn for which would be attached a sword teardrop hanger or perhaps some other hardware to adapt the D ring to the sword carrying ring.
ACCOU #28509 WEBBED UNDER THE TUNIC BELT WITH FIXED D-RING / LOOP
This under the tunic webbed belt is a lighter green olive color. There would have been many organizations that could have used this belt as basically it was worn beneath the tunic and used to service the hanging of a dagger. There is a fixed brown leather loop having a gilded D-ring. The gilded D-ring matches the gilded buckle which is also equipped with a roller. Just thinking about it this rig could be used for an NPEA leader’s dagger, any kind of a forestry or hunting dagger or basically any dagger which would have hangers with a snap clip hardware at the top. Either way, someone out there probably has a good use for this original rig.
ACCOU #25084 WOOLEN DAGGER STORAGE BAG
This woolen
dagger storage bag is a light tan color wool. There are a couple
of signs of moth tracks, but no holes in the bag anywhere. The
bag is made of totally woolen material and the two sides have
been stitch-sewn. The bag measures 16 ½ in length
and is 4 ½ wide at the top. It is equipped with a
good looking zipper, which has a short chain hanger, with ball
on end. The zipper is marked, RiRi. This fine bag
could easily be used to store an Army, or
2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger. It would also make a nice backdrop
to position a dagger on the surface.
ACCOU #28515 BLACK LEATHER SWORD SLING
This black leather sword sling has a gold rectangular buckle and a gold D-ring for the belt loop at the top. The black leather, though, could have been worn by army officers as they certainly wore black boots. The gold buckle and D-ring would go nicely with the gilded hilt of the sword. This sling is about 20-inches in length and shows some attic crazing in the surfaces as well as age. It is still relatively sound though but could use a little leather nurture to soften it up some. It is complete with a nickel-plated regain chain and hook. The snap clip at the reverse of the gold buckle is DRGM marked and also painted black.
ACCOU #28516 BLACK LEATHER SWORD SLING
This black leather sword sling is about 20-inches in length and is fitted with a gold rectangular buckle and a gold D-ring which retains the belt loop above. The black painted snap clip at the reverse of the gold buckle is DRGM marked. This leather could use some nurturing but it is still basically sound having decorative trim lines on the edges. This is likely an army sword hanger which would go with the officer’s black boots and the gold trim would go with the gilded sword hilt.
ACCOU #23771 SA TWO PIECE VERTICAL RIG
This vertical rig shows a little bit of mild age to the leather pieces. There is more age to the grip retaining loop but it is still serviceable having a good working strap. The nickel-plated D-ring is retained by a rivet which holds the belt loop closed.
ACCOU #28520 SA TWO PIECE VERTICAL RIG
This two-piece vertical rig is composed of leather which is a little more substantial than most that you see. The leather is also thicker. The belt loop is riveted and retains a brass D-ring. The grip retainer is in good condition and is complete with a working snap clip.
ACCOU #28519 SA TWO PIECE VERTICAL RIG
This vertical rig is in excellent condition throughout having a fine belt loop which is sewn closed containing a nickel-plated D-ring. This belt loop is marked on one side, “RZM L2/5”. The grip retainer leather is in good condition having a fine working snap.
ACCOU #28521 SA TWO-PIECE VERTICAL RIG
This SA two-piece vertical rig is of thinner leather than we normally see them but it is absolutely original. The matching leather is a slightly lighter brown color than we usually see. The D-ring is in choice condition being nickel-plated and retained by a belt loop which is riveted together. The SA grip leather loop is matching and has a working snap being retained by a matching rivet. This is a good-looking rig here.
ACCOU #28524 BROWN LEATHER BELT LOOP
This belt loop is composed of excellent brown leather being slightly larger and thicker than the usual for an SA hanger. Most likely it is for some piece of equipment. Attached to the leather loop is a fairly heavy duty nickel-plated snap clip. This looks like something that may have been used to carry possibly an instrument or a canteen, etc.
ACCOU #23456 NAVAL "UNDER THE TUNIC" WEBBED BELT WITH WHITE LEATHER SWORD SLING
This rigging consists of a blue webbed belt which has a brown leather front with brass buckle and roller portion at the top. Permanently affixed to the webbed belt is a brown leather belt loop containing a naval sword sling. The sling consists of about a 20-inch length of white leather strapping. At the top of the strapping there is a brass chain and regain hook. At the lower area there is a dual set of lion mask buckles and at the reverse there is a small leather strap attached which has a black painted snap clip. This rig apparently was set up for a sword with only one hanging ring. To my knowledge this would accommodate the naval infantry as often these naval sabers were suspended in army style metal scabbards. This would be a very rare item if you happen to have the right sword for it.
ACCOU #28527 LEATHER FIRE AX COVER / HANGER
This brown leather hanger also acts as a cover for what appears to be a large size fire ax. It is built for the type of ax which has a point in the back which slopes downward. The design is quite clever having a boss with button hole to open the assembly and the leather accoutrement slips over the handle of the ax. Once in place the accoutrement enables the ax to be carried through a leather belt. This accoutrement is in fine condition and if you have the right size ax to fit it it would be quite a find.
ACCOU #28529 AUSTRIAN SWORD PORTEPEE
This sword portepee is a good-looking item having bullion outside strapping with twin blue lines running down both edges. The inside of the portepee is lined with a red leather. Below the slide there is a wire connector which connects the stem to the strapping allowing for the knot to swing freely. The stem is decorated with V designs having a blue and bullion mix. The lower ball is of bullion yarn-like material and the stuffing is an off-white felt material. There is no fray on this portepee but it is highly age patinated. If you have an Austrian sword needing a knot to dress it up this should be a good value for you.
ACCOU #28531 IMPERIAL SAXON SWORD PORTEPEE
This sword portepee shows much patination and it looks as though it was worn some, but there is no abuse. The strapping is a silver bullion with twin rows of green line decoration. The stem is material bullion with “v” design green thread. The lower ball is also bullion. A difficult knot to find.
ACCOU #28533 SAXON OFFICER’S SWORD PORTEPEE
This sword portepee consists of a silver bullion strapping which does not appear to have any colored lines in the bullion but it is nicely patinated. The stem and slide are also silver bullion decorated but have green V designs in their surfaces. The lower ball is of all silver bullion and has a cat’s anus style stuffing of green thread. A fine knot here to complete a Saxon Officer’s Sword.
ACCOU #4659 KREIGSMARINE NAVAL HANGERS
This is a good period set of naval hangers showing some wear throughout but still in very serviceable condition. The lion mask images appear to be produced of a zinc base having a gilded surface. The gilding is more of a brass color than it is gold. The gilt is probably about 90% over the buckles. The snaps are the traditional gilded aluminum type and they have normal gold surfaces. The regain hook is in place and this appears to be a gilded steel type. These straps have the black lined satin fronts with a deep color blue-black velvet backing. There is some wear to the backings, but no fraying or problems. A good set of straps here to put with a later-made naval dirk.
ACCOU #20125 KREIGSMARINE NAVAL HANGERS
This set of Kreig’s Marine naval hangers look to me as though they may have been owned by a NCO rather than an officer. The hangers are the gilded aluminum type, showing a little modest wear on the lion masks and some on the snaps. The lion masks are a matched pair, as both have the 6 dots on the lower mask reverse. The regain chain and hook is also present and it has an addition which was period done. The addition is a naval button affixed to the regain chain. This gives it a neat look. Another addition is the replacement of the snap clip on the short strap. The clip that is on this strap now is a gold color to match the rest, and it is “OLC” marked on the reverse with an “RZM”. The gold finish is about 98%. This is the type of things that normally would not have been done by an officer but most likely by an NCO petty officer. An interesting set of straps here that should be very collectible.
ACCOU #5408 EARLY IMPERIAL NAVAL HANGERS
This set of Imperial naval straps is quite early and certainly pre-WWI. The mounts are all brass throughout. The lion mask buckles are very nicely done and are still crisp throughout. The brass snaps are of high quality with riveted style springs. It is interesting to note that the snaps on the bottom of each set of hangers are a larger size than those at the top. There is no regain hook and chain as on these early hangers, this wearing method was not utilized. The fronts of the straps are made of lined black satin. The reverse are a purple color velvet. The velvet shows some wear, especially on the shorter strap which retains most of the weight. This purple color velvet on the long strap is still all there and is really quite impressive. This would be an outstanding set of hanging straps for a long Imperial cadet dirk or a nice 1902 model officers. Hangers from this early vintage are very difficult to come by.
ACCOU #5637 EARLY RAD HANGER
This early RAD hanger is the 1st style that was used on the RAD hewer. These hangers prove to be inefficient for the extreme weight of the hewer, so they were replaced with the bullet style in about 1936. This example is the early initial type. It is composed of black leather which is folded at a 45° angle at the bottom where it went through the “U” fitting on the scabbard of an RAD hewer. A separate hasp and buckle with short belt kept the hanger closed. The small retaining loop is still in position. This leather is a black color and the retaining loop is a brown color. The buckle has patinated to a black color. There is some wear to the lower portion of the hanger, but nothing that is bad. This hanger will clean up nice and would be a great item to display with a full stag example or an ultra early numbered example RAD hewer.
ACCOU #28427 RAD BULLET HANGER WITH SEPARATE BELT LOOP
This RAD bullet hanger is a very fine example. The leather parts on the obverse are all black color and on the reverse it is a brown color material. The upper loop section is separately snapped to the lower bullet hanger. The snap clip has fairly good nickel plating and good leather loop area. The clamp below nicely matches and has a large “A” on the back with the letters “A” and “S” stamped also. The leather bullet section of the RAD hewer is in choice condition throughout. It is getting very difficult to find these two-piece bullet hangers. This one would go very nicely with an excellent plus plus to near mint hewer.
ACCOU #5904 RAD BULLET HANGER WITH SEPARATE BELT LOOP
This RAD bullet hanger is a very fine example. It has black leather on the obverse and the reverse is done in a brown leather. The belt loop is attached via a wire hardware. This belt loop is in choice condition throughout. The leather to the bullet hanger is also in fine condition on both sides. The reverse is marked with the maker “th.Seibod/offenbach a.m./1937". Below this is what appears to be an assignment to an RAD group “1 38 B.A.Fü.” The snap clip buckle is in near mint condition, being marked with an “A” and the letters “a” and “s” beneath and also having the RAD triangle and the year “37" below. An extremely nice example, especially with the unit marking.
ACCOU #4511 ARMY TEARDROP SWORD HANGER
This army teardrop sword hanger is about 7½ inches in overall length. It is the adjustable type having a couple of button hole slots with an aluminum boss. The original retainer loop is still in place. The top is folded over and retains a closed box clip. The snap clip at the bottom is one of the thinner types where it is pressed in. It is nickel plated and in perfect condition. The leather is still extremely nice on this example. The obverse is a rich brown color and the reverse is a gray color. A nice looking army hanger here.
ACCOU #4509 ARMY TEARDROP SWORD HANGER
This sword hanger is in exceptional condition, having fine brown leather and measuring approximately 7½ inches in length. It is the type of hanger that folds over at the top which traps a box clip for hanging the accouterment to a snap within a tunic. The leather has two button holes with a boss button. The original leather retainer is in good shape and in place. The lower portion of the teardrop has a nickel plated snap clip. The reverse of the teardrop is a lighter color brown leather. A very nice accouterment here.
ACCOU #4508 ARMY TEARDROP SWORD HANGER
This teardrop sword hanger has been adjusted to the short length but it has another button hole where it could be extended to the normal 7½ inch length. This is now at about 6½ inches. The hanger is the fold over type at the top and it has a good, nickel plated closed box clip. The boss is a fine matching nickel as is the snap clip at the lower. The hanger has a matching brown backing. Overall, this hanger is in very nice condition.
ACCOU #4505 ARMY TEARDROP SWORD HANGER
This sword hanger has excellent brown leather obverse with an unusual gray leather reverse. It is 7½ inches long and it is the style with a fold over top loop which contains a “D” ring fitting which would attach to an accouterment inside of the uniform. The teardrop has two button holes and a boss. The retainer leather loop is in place. The lower snap clip has fairly good nickel plating but does show some age and has about 85% of the original finish. A very interesting teardrop here and an excellent specimen to complete your sword.
ACCOU #28492 ARMY NCO BAYONET TRODDEL
This bayonet troddel is the standard variety, having green strapping decorated with three rows of bullion highlights on each edge running the length. The slide and stem are composed of green and aluminum bullion done in a “v” design. The acorn cap is green and bullion and the lower portion is all aluminum bullion with an insert matching the strapping.
ACCOU #27818 ARMY OFFICER HANGERS WITH HORSESHOE TOP
These army
officers hangers are the deluxe type having the desirable
horseshoe shaped top. This top piece is arched and has a rectangular
hole where the clip would retain them. There are two rivets below
which retain the brocade straps. The horseshoe clip has raised
out oak leaves and acorns on the obverse and the reverse at the
top is DRGM marked. The hardware below is the standard type, having
oval buckles with standard slides all having raised out oak leaf
motif and the lower snaps are the deluxe push-up type which are
decorated with oak leaf springs on the fronts and each one is
DRGM marked. About 50% - 60% of the original silvering remains
on the hardware. These straps are the standard aluminum brocade
fronts with textured surfaces. They are sewn to green velvet backs
which show some mild wear but no fraying. A good set of horseshoe
top straps here.
ACCOU #9181 EARLY ISSUE ARMY HANGERS
A great example of early
issue Army hangers. Includes a fine brass closed box clip and oval buckles,
in very good condition. The pebbled push clips and vibrant green felt backing
are in good shape. Overall, these hangers show
some wear but are generally excellent throughout.
ACCOU #15610 DELUXE ARMY HANGERS
A nice fine example
of Deluxe Army hangers. This example is little longer than average and
in a very desirable condition. Oak leave decoration throughout and D.R.G.M.
marked on upper box clipand lower push up clips. Excellent condition on front
brocade and backing. Nice hangers here.
ACCOU #25552 SOCIAL WELFARE HANGERS
These Social
Welfare hangers measure a little bit over 11 inches in length.
They feature a textured brocade fabric on the obverse with each
strap having twin gray lines running the length. The reverse is
a gray, high-pile velvet. Neither side shows much usage and there
is little to no period soiling. The hardware consists of a snap
clip at the top which has a pebbled surface. The same pebbling
occurs on the rectangular buckles and the accompanying slides.
The lower snaps are the push-in type and they have a slight pebble
to their surfaces. These hangers are in excellent condition and
would go well with a near mint to full mint dagger.
ACCOU #25574 RAD LEADER HANGERS
This set of
RAD Leader hangers measures overall a little bit over 9 inches.
They feature outstanding tan leather straps which have line decoration
running down the length of the edges. These straps are in excellent
condition throughout with little to no signs of age. These straps
are still nice and supple. The hangers are equipped with the standard
box fitting at the top. This fitting is stamped with the letter
a. The rectangular buckles have a pebbled surface
as do the slides below. The snaps on this set of hangers are a
little bit unusual. They are not the standard aluminum type, but
appear to be a heavier duty variety which are nickel plated and
have built in tension springs. Looking at the hanger area along
with the sewing, it is obvious that these lower snaps have always
been on this set of hangers. I have seen snaps like this on other
occasions. A 100% original set of RAD hangers in choice condition.
ACCOU #25570 EARLY PRE-RZM SS HANGER
This SS hanger
resembles the standard types which came into play about 1935.
It differs a lot, also, in that it has a larger look to it and
is more substantially made. It resembles the vertical hanger that
I show in my SS book on Page 588, far right. This hanger has a
very large scabbard loop which is about 2 ½ to 3 times
the width of the size seen on the standard variety. The upper
portion of the hanger is coffin shaped. It is equipped with a
leather loop having a black painted buckle, equipped with a roller
and hasp. The leather strapping is beginning to age, but it is
still in good condition and is serviceable. The large lower loop
of this hanger is retained by two rivets in the reverse. At the
upper portion is a large sword-like nickel plated snap clip. This
clip is retained by folded over leather, which is also double-riveted.
A great hanger to use with an early dagger. Most unusual, and
absolutely original!
Excellent Plus. $495.00ACCOU #27658C DELUXE ARMY HANGERS
These
hangers have the rare distinction of gaining even more appeal from
wear over time. The gilding is so worn on the fittings that they now appear
silver and match the brocade nicely... The very definition of a "happy accident" here!
The decorated box clip and snap clips retain the most of the original gild.
With the deep green backing and silver brocade finish these hangers look fantastic.
The box top and clips are D.R.G.M. marked, and the stitching is still tight and shows no wear.
Some really nice hangers here, reasonably priced and in good shape overall.
ACCOU #26647 IMPERIAL OFFICERS SHAVING BRUSH BULLION TRODDEL
This troddel
is a real beauty, having blue cotton-like strapping with triple
rows of bullion lines running down the length. The slide is a
beautiful silver bullion style having blue thread highlights.
The stem features a blue silk-like cover having silver bullion
wavelike threads running through it surfaces. The lower cap is
of silver bullion as is the long brush-like hanging bouillon strands
which are over a blue cotton strand base. This is a very elaborate
portepee which would be an outstanding addition to the right edged
weapon. I do know now what the blue and silver colors would represent
in the Imperial Army, but for those who may, this is a great knot.
ACCOU #27580 DELUXE ARMY HANGERS, CRESCENT TOP
Though the backing
has seen better days, these hangers are in excellent, presentable condition.
The riveted crescent top still has vibrant gilding. The nylon style brocade
is mint. The rings, buckles, and slides, are in great working condition and
bear gild. The push-up clips are still tight. All parts are pebbled and decorated
with oak leaves. The only thing that takes away from these hangers from being pristine
is the backing. Not only is the wear on the backing expected, but it also
authenticates this accoutrement. Gild is good throughout, oak leaf ornamentation and
pebbling is strong. Clips and crescent top are both D.R.G.M. marked.
ACCOU #27668C EARLY BRASS ARMY HANGERS
The silver gild
has been worn away from these hangers, to reveal a brilliant brass.
Being an early make, the metal used in thier construction is always of the best quality.
With the gild gone, these hangers begin to resemble those that would have been issued to a General.
There is some wear on the brocade and backing, but both still appear
pleasing to the eye. The buckles, box-clip, slides, and snap clips
are all in good condition, showing only normal wear and tear.
The oak leaves and pebbling are brilliant, extremely well preserved. These Army hangers are
in good shape considering their age. A nice, and rare, set of hangers here.
ACCOU #27651C ARMY OFFICER HANGERS
These interesting
Army hangers are still in fine condition, even though some minor usage wear
is evident. The backing and brocade remain suprisingly vibrant. What appears to be an ordinary box-clip
houses the rarely seen leather reinforcement for the straps. Excellent detail remains evident
throughout the buckles and slides. The pebbling and spring action are still
fresh on the snap clips. These are some very nice Army hangers here, reasonably priced for
their condition.
ACCOU #24470 YUGOSLAVIAN NYLON AIR FORCE PORTEPEE
This portepee
looks similar to an Imperial naval style, except that instead
of being flecked with a red and black colors in the cording, it
has red and blue colors. It is a fine nylon construction throughout.
The stem also has blue and red fleck, and the nylon lower knot
is stuffed with the Yugoslavian colors of blue red and white.
This knot would add a lot of spice to your Yugo Air Force Dagger.
It is in full mint condition, still having its original wrapping,
and is identical to the one which is shown in the Berger book
on page 267.
ACCOU #27367 ARMY GENERALS HANGING STRAPS
This set of
army generals hanging straps are a no question about
it accouterment. The hardware is the deluxe type which features
the oak leafed, closed top clip, the oval buckles and slides and
the push-up type snaps with oak leaf fronts and DRGM marked backs.
Throughout this hardware, there is lots of original gilt which
remains on most pieces at approximately 50%. This is not an early
set of brass hangers that are being passed off as army generals.
These fittings are the standard pot metal type and the gilding
here is the real deal. The brocade straps are still relatively
clean and there is no fraying to the fine, green velvet backs.
The straps are retained to the closed top clip via green leather
tabs. These tabs are still in excellent condition. If you would
like to mount an army dagger with a generals tunic, this
would be a good opportunity. These hangers are not mint, but they
are genuine!
ACCOU #27617 UNKNOWN ORIGINAL THIRD REICH HANGING STRAPS
This set of
hanging straps is 10 inches long. The purpose of these hangers
is unknown to me; however, there is no question that they were
actually worn with a dagger and worn for some time. The construction
and materials indicate that they were produced definitely during
the Third Reich. It is possible that they could have been used
by one of the axis dagger countries, but if this is the case,
I do not recognize them, as the really do not resemble the style
of some of the countries that wore similar hangers such as Bulgaria
and Croatia. These straps have a fine silver brocade front with
twin green lines that run the length. The brocade is sewn to a
green leather backing. This leather is still quite supple and
is in good condition. The brocade fronts show age and patination
but no fray. The hardware for these hangers is a plain box clip
at the top and the lower buckles, slides and push-up style snaps
are standard army issue variety. This hardware has the silver
plated surfaces and as is usually the case, they do show deterioration
of the plating and some corrosion here and there. It is possible
that these straps could have been used for some type of a hunting
or forestry cutlass that was carried by suspension rings instead
of a frog. It is also possible that the straps could have been
for some type of a heavy-duty customs edged weapon. Your guess
is as good as mine, but, whatever they are, this is an original
set and would be a welcome addition if someone out there has a
dagger missing these hangers!
ACCOU #24093 RAD OFFICER HANGERS
This set of
RAD Officer Hangers is equipped with swivel tops. The tops have
metal, which is bent over and held by rivets. The metal is attached
to a closed box clip, which is marked with the A,
atypical of RAD hangers. The hardware is all covered aluminum
in rectangular buckles, slides, and push-in style snaps with rounded
tops. The leather strapping is the typical tan variety, and these
straps remain in excellent condition.
ACCOU #27291 POLICE OFFICER SWORD/BAYONET TRODDEL
This Police
Troddel is in outstanding condition, appearing to have been on
a bayonet, but there is no fray or any problems. The strapping
is the cloth type. It is decorated with triple bullion stitching,
running the length. The center stitch has been highlighted with
red color thread. The slide is a weave of black cloth, highlighted
with red and bullion stitching. The stem is a flat type, having
the crochet-like bullion covering, and the metal can be seen below.
The oval ball is of all yarn-like bullion construction, having
an insert of black, white, and red material in the cats
anus style. A very fine troddel here, which will nicely decorate
your police sword or bayonet.
ACCOU #27185C ARMY GENERALS HANGING STRAPS
This set of
Army General Straps is fairly long, measuring about 11 ½
inches overall. All of the fittings on this example are of high
quality brass, which still has its original gilded surfaces throughout.
This is not just brass, which is shined up to look like gilt,
but it is the regular fire gilt, that we are used to seeing on
sword parts and other 3rd Reich made artifacts. This set of hangers
is equipped with a closed box clip at the top, which also has
about 95% of its gilt remaining. The ovaled buckles have outstanding
detail to their raised out oak leaves, as do the slides and the
push-in style lower snaps with rounded tops. Each of these fittings
has about 95% of its original gilt. It is very rare to see an
original set of Army Generals Hangers, and these certainly
are! The brocade on the obverse is still clean and crisp, and
the reverse velvet of the snaps, shows only the most modest of
wear. Even the hasp fittings in the buckles reflect a gilded finish!
An outstanding original set here.
ACCOU #4866 UNIDENTIFIED BLACK LEATHER TEARDROP HANGER
This unusual
black, teardrop-shaped leather hanger is about 6 inches in length.
It is equipped with a "D" ring at the top. The ring
is secured, having extra leather at the top being folded over
and retained with an aluminum boss and small strap. At the lower
portion, there is a "U" shaped retaining fitting covered
with matching black leather - this "U" fitting is designed
to snugly fit under a lug. In the center of the hanger, is a matching
cross strap with snap button. It was meant to retain a grip in
place. I tried this hanger on a couple of things. It works well
on a shooting cutlass or a small proportion clamshell Police bayonet.
Probably would work on other things also. It shows usage, but
is still in very serviceable condition. Definitely a 3rd Reich,
German-produced accouterment here. Nice item.
ACCOU #17643 BLACK LEATHER POLICE TEARDROP BAYONET FROG WITH LARGE D-RING
This black
leather teardrop is quite rare and was a secondary method for
carrying a Police Bayonet. It measures about 6 1/2 inches overall.
It has been used, but remains in fine condition. There is a closed
nickel box clip at the top. The clip is retained by the top of
the hanger, being folded over, and held by button hole and boss
fitting. At the lower area there is a large, nickeled "D"
ring. This ring slips beneath the lug of the Police Bayonet scabbard.
There is a leather grip loop at about the center point. This snaps
around the stag grip and keeps the bayonet from moving. A great
accouterment which is quite rare. This accouterment would work
equally as well on a Clamshell Bayonet. It also could be used
for Forestry and Hunting Cutlasses. In fact, any edged weapon
which has a carrying lug on the scabbard. Choice thing here and
something which will add plenty of interest to the
piece paired with it.
ACCOU #16021 GRAY / LIGHT BROWN WOOLEN SWORD STORAGE BAG
This example
is in choice condition and measures about 38 inches overall. It
is the style having machine sewn stitching running around all
the edges. The top is a little unusual in that it folds over to
close. The top flap is equipped with two snaps, having leather
reinforcement on the opposite side. This great bag has no mothing
what-so-ever, and is in perfect condition. I slipped a Diplomatic
Degen I had laying around into it, and it fit great. It would
also work well for a shorter SS/Police Degen. It is hard to find this
kind of accoutrement, especially in this condition.
ACCOU #16942 SHOOTING CUTLASS TRODDEL
This troddel
is an all-green example meant for usage with the shooting cutlasses
used by the National Rifle Association. The green strapping feels
like silk. It has a pattern in the fabric. The slide and stem
are also silk material. The slide has just a tad of fraying on
one side. The lower rounded-style acorn ball is made with yarn-like
thread. The lower insert matches the strapping. Fine example to
complete your shooting cutlass.
ACCOU #16774 SHOOTING CUTLASS TRODDEL
This fine troddel
is composed of a textured, all-green silk strapping. The strapping
appears to once have been on a frog, but has no wear or problems.
The slide and stem are all-green silk covered. The lower ball
is the rounded type (as opposed to ovaled) with cap and lower
section made of yarn-like thread. The lower insert matches the
strapping. A great accouterment to complete your National Rifle
Association cutlass.
ACCOU #1405 RED, SILVER & BLUE STRIPED UNIDENTIFIED HANGING STRAPS
These beautiful
hanging straps were most-likely made for a Red Cross General.
The fittings are identical to normal Red Cross Leader examples
with the exception they have been gilted. The gilting shows wear
and age, but is still hanging in there at about 90% to 95%. These
fittings consist of a smooth finish snap clip, smooth oval buckles
and slides, and smooth snaps. The front fabric though, is really
something. It is an off-red, kind of carmine color. The fronts
feature two bullion stripes, accented with a deep blue one in
the center. They run the length of the facing. The reverse is
a fine matching color, off-red velvet. The reverse shows mild
wear and proper stitching - the stitching was loose and I had
it repaired here - no big deal and undetectable. Would have been
a shame to have these rare straps falling apart. Love the looks
of these straps, and what a treat to the eye they would make displayed
with a set of Red Cross and Social Welfare Hangers. Beautiful
hanging straps of definite period construction. This pieces comes from the
famous A.W. Perry collection of accoutrements.
ACCOU #26832 BAHNSCHUTZ RAILWAY PORTEPEE
This Railway
portepee comes from the old Tony Perry accouterment collection.
The cord on this portepee is the fatter type, but not quite as
thick as the Johnson remakes. The cording is a fine bullion which
has black specks running in the surfaces. The cord shows only
the most nominal of wear. There is a slide which is decorated
with silver bullion thread and has black v designs
running through it. The stem is the same as the slide, having
the same v treatment with the black material. There
is a slight amount of fraying to the stem where this portepee
was worn at one time. The ball below is a fairly small style.
This ball is composed of black and aluminum bullion yarnlike material
and it alternates in color. The insert of the ball is a black
felt material but does not appear to be as thick as the remake
variety. The bullion material over the wood base is extremely
tight, with none of the spaces or looseness that we see with the
remakes. A fine original knot here that is ready to go onto your
Bahnschutz dagger.
ACCOU #26749C BRITISH NAVAL SWORD PORTEPEE
This sword
portepee is of gold bullion fabric, having two black decorative
stripes that run the length. The lower area has a slide consisting
of black and gold bullion which matches a pinecone shaped lower
ball, also made of the same weaved material. I believe that this
is a knot for a British naval sword and would look terrific, if
you have a nice example. The knot shows age but is in unissued
condition.
ACCOU #19064 IMPERIAL / WEIMAR BAVARIAN POLICE SILVER BULLION / BLUE PORTEPEE
This example
is composed of silver bullion strapping of highest quality. The
beautiful brocade is decorated with twin, thin blue lines which
run the length. There is a weaved bullion slide positioned above
a metal wire device. The metal wire device separates the bullion
strapping from the lower stem and ball portions of the portepee,
lessening the amount of wear to this area which is often frayed
when built conventionally. The metal lower end is secured to the
stem and is finished with a small escutcheon cap. The stem is
a beautiful silver bullion "V" weave. The lower acorn
is elegantly shaped and is composed of bullion yarn-like material.
The lower insert is a blue felt material. This was an expensive-to-make
portepee, and is a real beauty. I don't really know what it would
be worn on, but it is so great to look at, maybe you don't need
an edged weapon.
ACCOU #19356 WORLD'S LARGEST COLLECTION OF TRODDELS / PORTEPEES
Enlisted Men
and NCOs of the German Wehrmacht wore colorful troddels and knots
tied to the frog of their bayonets. The many different combinations
of colors designated the individual regiment and company to which
the carrier belonged. With the new Portepee and Troddel Book recently
released by Rex Reddick, (Available in my catalog), it should
be fun to identify all these different troddel accouterments.
Bill Laret has spent the last 40 years looking for these troddels
and knots in an attempt to find each and every example that exists.
Several years ago Bill bought an entire collection of knots from
British researcher/author Brian Leigh Davis, just to get a few
of the key pieces in that particular collection. Whether this
collection is complete or not is hard to say. There are about
85 examples in the collection and we would like to sell it as
one lot. Many very rare troddels, all in collectible to mint condition.
ACCOU #18343 GREEN WOOLEN DAGGER STORAGE BAG
This fine dagger
storage bag is made of a dark green wool. The edges are trimmed
with a grey binding material which is sewn to the wool. This bag
measures 18 inches overall. It has a drawstring top and the edges
have the pinching shear cut. This bag also has the name of its
producer printed in red on a cloth tag sewn to the bottom. The
name is Lindemann Ohg/Wetter (Ruhr). The color of
this bag would indicate to me that it was for the storage of a
Land Custom Officials dagger, but I could be wrong.
ACCOU #15024 RUST COLOR WOOLEN SWORD STORAGE BAG
This fine sword
storage bag is in full mint condition. It is a rust-colored wool
which has a lighter color brown binding fabric sewn around the
edges. At the top, it has the pinching shear cut and the original
drawstring is present. This bag measures slightly over 37 inches
and would be perfect for a choice condition Luftwaffe Generals
Degen. A real beauty here.
ACCOU #20042 BROWN WOOLEN SWORD STORAGE BAG
This woolen
sword storage bag is a fine deep brown color, and it has only
a couple of nominal moth tracks in its surfaces. There is only
one tiny hole and that is near the bottom area. This sword bag
is sewn on all the edges with fabric reinforcement. The top area
has the pinching shear cut. The original drawstring is weaved
through the holes. There is brown leather reinforcement which
shows age, but is still there at the bottom tip of this storage
bag. This bag measures overall, forty inches in length and would
be good for any Army sword.
ACCOU #5609 GREY WOOLEN SWORD STORAGE BAG WITH MATCHING GREY WOOLEN UNDER THE TUNIC HARNESS
This is a great
sword bag and harness outfit which was meant to be together. I
think the pair would have been used with a Diplomatic sword. The
grey woolen bag is in good shape throughout, having some moth
tracks, but no holes. There is one cut near the edge about 2 inches
down from the drawstring, but it is only an inch wide and was
not done by bugs. This sword bag measures 41 inches in length
and has the pinching shear top with grey drawstring. The bag is
reinforced on the edges with a silk binding cloth. Accompanying
the bag, is a matching woolen over-the-shoulder, under-the-tunic
sword harness. The harness has a buckle which adjusts its length.
Attached to the harness is a brown leather teardrop accoutrement
which is fitted with an aluminum coated, pebbled snap clip. The
snap clip is marked on the back A and DRGM.
The back of the teardrop leather is also lined with wool matching
the bag as well as the harness. A very beautiful combination here
and possibly one of a kind. If you have a Diplo sword you are
displaying, this would make for a great package.
ACCOU #24717 BROWN WOOLEN SWORD STORAGE BAG
This woolen
sword storage bag is a lighter color brown color, and it shows
almost no mothing, being in fine condition. The seams are all
sewn throughout the three sides, the bottom having extra stitches
put in for strength. The top of the bag is cut straight and it
is equipped with a drawstring fed through its holes. This bag
measures 42 inches and would accommodate a good long Army Officer
sword. A fine bag here.
ACCOU #24718 FIELD GREEN ARMY OFFICER SWORD STORAGE BAG
This Army Sword
bag is a beautiful field green/grey color. It is in choice condition,
having no mothing and still fairly stiff. The bottom has been
reinforced with green leather which remains in perfect condition.
The edges are all sewn and at the top there is a pinching shear
crimp. The original grey color drawstring is in place. This would
be a fantastic bag to display a mint Field Marshall sword or any
special sword from the German army you may have in your collection.
